Misc comments[edit]

It seems like schools/education is a major omission from this, if anyone is looking to do some more research. Are K12 and community colleges at the city level or county level here? How is the funding apportioned and how does that relate to how the boundaries have been drawn? Cliff bar (talk) 16:15, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article is about the government of Miami-Dade County. That government has nothing to do with education in the county. As is indicated in Miami-Dade County, Florida#Education, all public schools (K-12) in the county are operated by the Miami-Dade school district, which has its own elected board, and is independent of county government. Miami Dade College is a public college serving Miami-Dade County. It is independent of the county government and the school district. Florida International University is a state university. All other colleges and universities in the county are private. Again, as the government of Miami-Dade County has no control over any education in the county, there is no reason to cover education in this article. - Donald Albury 18:58, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
