unverified reports of his death, 10-Aug-2010[edit]

per "examiner.com", which, given how it gets its stories, an unreliable source, Hermanski died yesterday, Aug. 9th.

At this point there's no other verification readily locatable, so this is just a heads up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki-ny-2007 (talkcontribs) 13:31, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...[edit]

"When Hermanski played for the Brooklyn Dodgers with Jackie Robinson, he demonstrated he was a great team mate by suggesting that all of the players stand in solidarity by wearing number 42 to confuse potential snipers who were out to kill Jackie Robinson merely for the color of his skin. Jackie Robinson by Matt Christopher, pg. 62."

How does that help Jackie at all? All the sniper would have to do is shoot the black guy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.136.62.96 (talk) 07:40, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
