Hi Wiki-ny-2007,

You ask about 'the status' of Joshua Lederberg's first wife. If you look a little further down in his article, you can see that his first wife, Esther M. Zimmer Lederberg, has her own article in Wikipedia.

She died 15 months ago.

Richard Dawson

Hi! I noticed you added the death report of Richard Dawson to his page. I have a feeling it might be YAIR (yet another Internet rumour), since the first I heard of it was a posting to alt.obituaries by "Letstrolltonight", not exactly a confidence-inspiring handle. Unless/until a reliable source like the LA Times or CNN reports it, it would be best not to edit his entry - Wikipedia requires reliable sources, and one of the things it constantly gets in trouble about is people passing on Internet death rumours. 2001 anthrax attacks

The content that you have restored to 2001 anthrax attacks with this edit contains wording such as

In my view, such wording should not be added, and must not remain in a Wikipedia article, and I ask you to remove the content that you have restored to the article. Hello. Removal of links

I removed links to an unreliable site, added by its webmaster, where the content is of uncertain copyright status and much of the other content is in violation of copyright. The original sources (where they exist) can be cited, but not the unreliable site to which the original citations pointed (per WP:ELNEVER etc). Guy (Help!) 13:32, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Ed Lake's book

The book is published at CreateSpace, this is a self-published book, to assert parity with works published by Harvard University Press and others is ridiculous, I'm afraid. Lake appears to be using Wikipedia as a vehicle to promote himself and his ideas. Guy (Help!) 18:59, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

@Jackmcbarn: A prolific sockmaster was using Panix as a webhost, and the 166.84.1.1 address was particularly sticky with, until now, zero collateral. Although there are legitimate users on the Panix IPs, the ISP does offer webhosting and colocation anonymizing services that allow for socking. I've switched the block to a soft block, so Wiki-ny-2007 can edit, but if the disruption starts up again I'll reblock it. Wiki-ny-2007 has other IPs available to them and we can consider IPBE if need be.--Jezebel's Ponyo^{bons mots} 16:42, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi Wiki-ny-2007! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Sam Sloan that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information.
