Merger proposal[edit]

I think the newly created Shakira Wannabe should be merged into here. For one thing, as the article creator freely admits, the term is barely used anywhere, so why should anybody search for an article with that name? But in the main, the new article appears to be a WP:REDUNDANTFORK of this article, with a great deal of overlap between the two. I don't see why women who style themselves on Shakira can't be covered in this article about her cultural impact. Richard3120 (talk) 21:40, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Richard3120: I also agree with you. My main concern is that user AlexanderShakifan29 is virtually creating whole articles such as Shakira Wannabe or Shakira Studies because there exists (WP:OTHERSTUFF) Madonna's articles (Madonna wannabe and Madonna Studies) with these titles and style. To my understanding, this involve matters from WP:CFORK to WP:SYNTHESIS (mainly Shakira Studies). Some references used in all of these new Shakira's articles are questionable as well, both in Spanish and English. Perhaps, an advanced user can help dealing with these issues, especially in the Shakira Studies which is technically starting by its title a WP:HOAX/WP:Primary source, inspired because the Madonna Studies and not recognized both title and theme by mainstream academia or media world. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 22:09, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar, punctuation, word choices, sentence structures errors[edit]

Hi! I read this article multiple times and I notice a lot of grammar, punctuation, word choice, and sentence structures errors. As much as I want to fix all of these errors, I do not have a lot of time on Wikipedia. I understand that maybe the article's creator is not fluent in the English language, so can I ask more editors who are more fluent in English to come and read through the whole article and fix all errors in grammar, punctuation, word choice, etc? Thanks! RegularboyA (talk) 22:57, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I've been keeping an eye on it as well and I agree it needs a lot of copyediting, but like you I don't have the time. I also think there are several paragraphs that should be removed - what Shakira thinks about abortion, gay rights, etc. is not the same as having a cultural impact, it's just her personal opinion.
