Alkaline trio[edit]

i dont thjink he ever played wiht alkaline trio, it doesnt say so on their wikipedia article

He did play with Alkaline Trio, possibly as a session drummer, between Mike Felumlee and Derek Grant as he appears on the video to Alkaline Trio's 'Private Eye' which is made up of live footage (although it is for a short period of time)
I've done some looking into this and unfortunately I can't find a source to add references for this. All I found was a blurb on punknews.org saying that he'd played with the Trio. You can see him clearly in the video for "Private Eye" so I imagine he was either filling in for Mike Felumlee on a tour, or he was a fill-in in the time between when Felumlee left the band and Derek Grant joined. I wish I could find a good reference, because Alkaline Trio are one of my favorite bands, but I couldn't so I kind of left the info in the article ambiguous on this topic. --IllaZilla (talk) 05:26, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

drummer for MOTH circa 2002?[edit]

I think Atom was in MOTH's "I See Sound" video. MOTH's 2002 Virgin Records debut "Provisions, Fiction and Gear" CD case is in front of me, minus the booklet that would confirm if he did drums on the album. Their website listed on the back, mothematics.com, no longer exists and I can't find them anywhere on Virgin's website. 68.81.54.83 16:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the album myself, and I couldn't find any credit listings online. However, I did find a source stating that Josh Freese actually played drums on that album, and that Willard played with them on tour after the album was released. I made the appropriate changes to the section and provided the reference. --IllaZilla (talk) 05:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Drum Set info?[edit]

There should be a section here about his drum set. Does anyone have anything on it?--Martin925 (talk) 03:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was a section on it previously, but it was extremely overly detailed and completely unreferenced, so I cut it out in the process of rewriting the article. If it could be boiled down to a paragraph or 2 of prose and properly referenced, it could definitely be included. --IllaZilla (talk) 05:07, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the Sources for the Edit on his gear I made: Guitar Center Video: [1] Guitar Center Gear List: [2] (Stand:2009) Here are the Cymbals he uses Live: [3] (first Photo). Also, for the Love Tour, he uses only his bigger Racktom, and not two Racktoms. Additional to his Set he uses a secondary "drum machine" live for playing the moon atomic or the epic holiday. But I don't know the sizes of that thing. --Schlatte (talk) 10:51, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Schlatte[reply]

The only one of those that actually specifies any of the equipment is the GC gear list. Honestly I don't know why we bother to list his equipment; drummers (and most rock musicians) change gear from album to album and tour to tour, and it's not like he has any specialized equipment that's closely associated with him in particular (like Kurt Kobain's Fender Jag-Stang). He's used a variety of drum kits and equipment over the years (seeing as he's been a professional musician for ~20 years and played in several bands), and none of it is particularly noteworthy or specialized. It'd be worth mentioning if he's sponsored by any particular companies, providing that this can be reliably sourced. --IllaZilla (talk) 23:12, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He does not use the Session HiHats at all anymore. His BD is a 20x26" and not a 18x26". You see the list of his cymbals at the GC-Gearlist. Here is the official Vater Productvideo where he talks about the VATER POWER 5B <- THE STICK THAT HE USES ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjDkOT_U9V8 )!

Also here the Link to the Vater Website where he is listet as a POWER 5B USER ( http://www.vater.com/artists/artistpage.cfm?ID=869&Country=artists ) ! It might be that musicians in general change their gear from time to time or from tour to tour.. or from album to album. But: The HiHats that he uses, for example, are always the same... NEW BEATS! Why is it so hard to understand that the info on his gear, that it sais in this article is wrong? Schlatte (talk) 21:43, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Schlatte[reply]

Association with Weezer[edit]

On the Weezer Green Album page it says that Willard was the "Drum God" and drum technician. Is this true, and if so why is it not included here? Thhhh (talk) 17:34, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was Weezer's drum tech for a bit. It mentions this under "2000-2003: The Special Goodness and temporary acts". Weezer isn't listed under "associated acts" though as he didn't perform or record with them. --IllaZilla (talk) 17:40, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Overflow Crowds Band[edit]

Mention of this band keeps getting added/removed, usually by anonymous IPs, with no explanation. There's no Wikipedia article on the band, and I haven't had much luck turning up reliable sources that cover them. However, their MySpace not only lists Atom right under the "about" section, but also has their debut music video which shows him with the band throughout (and even opens with him playing drums). That's definitely enough to leave OCB under "associated acts", but we really need some better sources to add some prose to the article discussing his involvement with them. At the very least, I have to insist that people stop removing OCB from the associated acts list, as his involvement with them is verifiable. --IllaZilla (talk) 02:25, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is NOT an actual band. If you go through and actually listen to their music, it is Yellowcard songs (still being preformed by Yellowcard and not covers of their music) given a new title and being credited towards this band that does not actually exist. All of the art that is put together is badly photoshopped--none of these people actually know each other, with the exception of Atom and David. And all of the so-called footage of Atom has been cut and cropped from the Angels & Airwaves "Start the Machine" movie and its extras, or from exclusive Angels & Airwaves Modlife content. All of the fan pictures (of Atom and David) were taken at Angels & Airwaves shows, and are being used without many of the fan's knowledge or permission, including my own. The tour dates are impossible-Atom is verifiably going to be with Social Distortion on many of the dates that this "band" will be touring, sometimes clear on the other side of the continental US. Look at the myspace a little better please before letting Atom's name be associated with this sham. 74.130.94.155 (talk) 14:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC)AVAGirl[reply]
