Afifa Karam'Afifa Karam – Preponderance of WP:RS use the hamza which is an integral part of her name. Elizium23 (talk) 04:45, 24 April 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 20:41, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. It is not a hamza here but the letter ayn. Just by looking at the first page of results from Google Books I see more results for "Afifa Karam" than "'Afifa Karam". Besides "'Afifa" is not a complete transliteration as it is missing the long -ī-, by all standards. A reference cited in the article also uses "'Afīfah". Per WP:MOSAR we should use the most common transliteration which is the basic one here, "Afifa Karam". It was also the spelling she used on the cover of her own magazine.
