Shamshir Rural District (Persian: دهستان شمشير) is in the Central District of Paveh County, Kermanshah province, Iran.^[3] Its capital is the village of Shamshir,^[4] transferred from Churizhi.^[5]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 8,680 in 2,138 households.^[6] There were 9,167 inhabitants in 2,593 households at the following census of 2011.^[7] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,234 in 3,044 households. The most populous of its eight villages was Durisan, with 3,500 people.^[2]
