Untitled[edit]

After reviewing this article thoroughly, I have found several content gaps that I have filled in. I moved some information in the Lead section to go into new sections that I made for better organization and structure. With that being said, I made a new section called "Background" (to show what led the author to write the book), "Publication" (the different editions and versions of the book), "Plot Summary" (what the book is about), "Genre and Style"(why the author styled the book in a certain way), and "Reception" (how society negatively and positively view the book). Within each newly added section, I added essential information for the viewers. For those that wish to see the bibliography, it is currently published on my sandbox. Criticism section required some significant rewording due to sources not supporting statements made within as originally written..[edit]

The sources used to support the criticisms levied against the book did not supporting the wording which implied that many or mos libraries self-banned the book or called it "child porn" not the idea that most parents or parents in general have wanted the book banned or disliked the book. What they do support is the among the parents who are critics of the book there a several reason given to justify the wanted bans. Whether most parents share that view or whether a majority of parents even have heard of the book is not answered by the sources listed. So the best we can say is that a significant number of parents have challenged the book and many libraries have removed it or refused to carry it from the get-go but not that either of these numbers represents most or even a majority of libraries (at least in the U.S.). As for it's reception internationally, that seems to be completely missing from the article so that either should be added or the article needs to be clearer that this criticisms/reception reflect mentioned are an American POV and may not reflect the view of other countries. --Notcharliechaplin (talk) 02:54, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
