Milestone Announcements

Announcements
  • All WikiProjects are invited to have their "milestone-reached" announcements automatically placed onto Wikipedia's announcements page.
  • Milestones could include the number of FAs, GAs or articles covered by the project.
  • No work need be done by the project themselves; they just need to provide some details when they sign up. A bot will do all of the hard work.

I thought this WikiProject might be interested. Ping me with any specific queries or leave them on the page linked to above. Thanks! - Jarry1250 (t, c) 22:00, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

WP 1.0 bot announcement

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:33, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Photo request: Luxair head office

Would someone mind photographing the Luxair head office at Luxembourg Airport? The article needs an image of the headquarters. Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 16:20, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

13 years later, I can do it! I'll see if I can go to the Airport soon. Atharva210 (talk) 19:26, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Unreferenced living people articles bot

User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects provides a list, updated daily, of unreferenced living people articles (BLPs) related to your project. There has been a lot of discussion recently about deleting these unreferenced articles, so it is important that these articles are referenced.

The unreferenced articles related to your project can be found at >>>Wikipedia:WikiProject Luxembourg/Archive 6/Unreferenced BLPs<<<

If you do not want this wikiproject to participate, please add your project name to this list.

Thank you.

Update: Wikipedia:WikiProject Luxembourg/Archive 6/Unreferenced BLPs has been created. This list, which is updated by User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects daily, will allow your wikiproject to quickly identify unreferenced living person articles.
There maybe no or few articles on this new Unreferenced BLPs page. To increase the overall number of articles in your project with another bot, you can sign up for User:Xenobot_Mk_V#Instructions.
If you have any questions or concerns, visit User talk:DASHBot/Wikiprojects. Okip 00:39, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

"Luxembourg" / "Luxembourgian" in category names

A discussion was started at WT:Categories for discussion#Category:Luxembourg architecture, and it was proposed to look at all Luxembourg-related categories. I believe the members of this project can give valuable insight there. Hans Adler 13:45, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Luxembourg articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Luxembourg articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

For the Wikipedia 1.0 editorial team, SelectionBot 23:17, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject cleanup listing

I have created together with Smallman12q a toolserver tool that shows a weekly-updated list of cleanup categories for WikiProjects, that can be used as a replacement for WolterBot and this WikiProject is among those that are already included (because it is a member of Category:WolterBot cleanup listing subscriptions). See the tool's wiki page, this project's listing in one big table or by categories and the index of WikiProjects. Svick (talk) 20:17, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Rename of Luxembourg stub categories

Greetings! Two or more stub types which you created have been nominated for renaming or deletion at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type most likely doesn't meet Wikipedia requirements for a stub type, through failure to meet standards relating to the name, scope, current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! This message is a boilerplate, left here as a courtesy, and should not be considered personal in nature.

Proposing rename of Luxembourgian stubs to Luxembourgish stubs. Please go to the WP:SFD page to discuss. Dawynn (talk) 12:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Territorial changes

Following the edits of a cross wiki vandal specializing on articles on geographic localities I came across a note on frWiki that some communes will be incorperated in other communes this year. I have found no mention here or on deWiki. Anybody from this projectknowing something about that? Wellenstein is one of them Agathoclea (talk) 06:25, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

There are six municipality mergings to be done for 1st January 2012 at the latest. See the French article and its Luxembourgish equivalent. lb-wiki articles and all files on Commons (except the equivalent of File:Communes of Luxembourg.png on Commons) have been updated in the last months of 2011 by the lb wikipedians, fr-wiki articles have been updated by myself around Christmas, de-wiki articles have been partially updated, and I just noticed updates finally started to appear here. —Bjung (t) 13:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

WikiWomen's History Month

Hi everyone. March is Women's History Month and I'm hoping a few folks here at WP:Luxembourg will have interest in putting on events (on and off wiki) related to women's roles in Luxembourg's history, society and culture. We've created an event page on English Wikipedia (please translate!) and I hope you'll find the inspiration to participate. These events can take place off wiki, like edit-a-thons, or on wiki, such as themes and translations. Please visit the page here: WikiWomen's History Month. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to seeing events take place! SarahStierch (talk) 22:10, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Luxembourg Income study-edit

Hello, I am here on behalf of LIS (Luxembourg Income Study). We would like to edit our wiki entry since it both needs some updates and we would also like to put in additional information. I was wondering if you have any advice as to what would be the best way to go about this? Should we just directly edit the article that already exist or would it be better to 'adopt' the article? We would also like to change the name since LIS isn't called Luxembourg Income Study anymore. Any advice would be much appreciated. LisEdit (talk) 19:36, 23 April 2012 (UTC).

"Luxembourgian" again!!!

Hello, I've noticed about a douzen categories (including, but not limited to Category:Luxembourgian saints, Category:Luxembourgian cyclists and more importantly Category:Luxembourgian culture and Category:Luxembourgian art) which need to be changed. Could someone either make the changes themselves, or explain how category name-changes can be made? Thanks, --Brigade Piron (talk) 14:27, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

I've noticed a ton under royalty and nobility too. 99.246.46.229 (talk) 14:51, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
And elections... the list goes on. Could we put the Luxembourgish bit a bit higher up the WP Lux page? --(Brigade Piron (talk) 16:56, 21 October 2012 (UTC)).
Go to WP:CFD#HOWTO for instructions on how to request category name changes. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:46, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
FYI – I count over 250 categories using the term "Luxembourgian" in the category names. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:17, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
I've proposed the first category for renaming, Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2012 November 3#Category:Luxembourgian sport stubs. --Brigade Piron (talk) 18:48, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I've started systemically changing Luxembourgian to Luxembourgish, but a bot would be useful. Unfortunately, creating a bot is a wee bit over my IT level of competence...Scotchorama (talk) 13:36, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
One another point: In several articles, "Luxembourg" is sometimes used as the adjective. For example, "Su-Mei Tse is a Luxembourg musician, artist and photographer." However, one wouldn't say Victor Hugo was a France novelist. In these cases, should Luxembourg be changed to Luxembourgian?Scotchorama (talk) 13:43, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
NO! It should be Luxembourgish! To be clear, something from Luxembourg is Luxembourgish (the adjective), someone from Luxembourg is a Luxembourger and the language is Luxembourgish. "Luxembourgian" isn't anything. ---Brigade Piron (talk) 17:47, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Came here after noticing a CfD discussion: The main article, and your statement above, give the demonym as Luxembourger, so isn't this what should be used in both biography categories and biography leads? No personal experience with what to call Luxembourg(ish|ers|ians), just going on what the existing system/main article say. (There are other countries where the demonym is different to the adjective: see Category:Philippines/Category:Philippine law/Category:Filipino people --Qetuth (talk) 08:15, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

That depends. For the sake of argument, if it is Category:Luxembourgian sport stubs then no. 'Luxembourgian' is being used as an adjective so Luxembourgish should replace it. However, if the category is (for instance) Famous Luxembourgians, (as in "people from Lux") then it should be Famous Luxembourgers as you stated. Luxembourgian is neither an adjective, nor a demonym. --Brigade Piron (talk) 10:13, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

We should discuss this in a full CFD discussion for (at least) one of the direct Category:Luxembourg subcats (that is, one of Category:Luxembourgian culture, Category:Luxembourgian law‎, Category:Luxembourgian society‎ and Category:Luxembourgian people‎); if the consensus is to rename these categories, the rest can be speedied. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:03, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Good idea. Having said that, look upon this and weep: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 March 25#Luxembourgian people Is there any way we can re-modify large numbers of categories like they did?
It's very simple. Create a nomination text (similar to the way they did) as a CFD discussion; tag all of the categories with {{subst:cfr|target name|section header}}, replacing target name and section header with the appropriate text. Typicly we indent subcategories under their parent categories (see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 May 24#Category:Conductors, for example), and with long lists, we usually put a {{collapse top}} before and a {{collapse bottom}} after.
Alternatively, you could go the way of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 March 10#Category:Georgian people, where a single base category was nominated and renamed, and the rest followed using the speedy rename process. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 05:26, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I've started the required CFD at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2012 November 12#Luxembourgian. 2 steps are needed to add more categories to that nomination: add {{subst:cfr|Luxembourgish FOO |Luxembourgian}} to the category page, replacing "FOO" with the specific part of each category name. (The word "Luxembourgian" within the brackets is just a link to a section heading.) Then add a line with old & new names at the CFD page, like the existing ones there. – Fayenatic London 09:20, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

I have just added a comment on Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2012_November_12#Luxembourgian. According to Péporté, Kmec, Majerus and Michel Margue, it should be Luxembourgian. I feel uncomfortable with it, but cannot find any other scholarly work on the topic that supports the opposite. Please comment on the CfD page, thanks! Scotchorama (talk) 10:04, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

I must admit, I find this rather discouraging that you go so far as to launch the debate, then undermine it just as we might be getting somewhere. I suggest that the writers in the work you suggest have little grasp of English grammatical niceties and therefore have chosen to go with "Luxembourgian" because of its prevalence in American English. As for sources to the contrary, if you look on the post I made on the same thread, you will see that Luxembourgish is used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, national airline etc. which I hope carry weight on this sort of issue.Brigade Piron (talk) 13:55, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
I have spent countless hours changing -ian to -ish and was a little upset at finding that source. But I am not defending any agenda other than uniformising the format. I personally do not care, and am happy to follow any version, as long as it is substantiated by research publications. For the moment, the majority of the publications that I have found that use -ish seem to refer to the language. One idea would be to compile the sources that use -ish as an adjective and others that use -ian, and compare them. Yes, I know that this is frustrating, but until a thorough discussion is held, we'll keep on hitting obstacles. Scotchorama (talk) 11:53, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Well, the CFD was closed as "no consensus". – Fayenatic London 17:08, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Cat for Discussion

Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2013 March 23#Category:Luxembourgish resistance groups - we have an attempt to rename a cat to "Luxembourgian". I suggest we hold a discussion here, similar to one above but more concise, where both sides present their arguments and provide evidence that we can point to for such discussions again in future. Brigade Piron (talk) 10:47, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

The final Luxembourgish/Luxembourgian/Luxembourg discussion

There's been much moaning on this project about the use of adjective - I know, I've been one of the moaners. However, I think now may be the time to try to generate an evidenced-based consensus in favour of one of the options. I've put together a list of the prominent usages I can find of each term, and would encourage everyone to add to it. Then, next time we have a WP:CFD we can actually point to some evidence. I don't mind which way the discussion goes (though I think Luxembourgian sounds ugly) as long as we have a consensus. To this end, see list below. --Brigade Piron (talk) 19:25, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

There is in fact currently a discussion triggered by Wikipedia:Requested moves on 21 October 2013 about changing "Luxembourgian" to "Luxembourg" in Luxembourgian general election, 2013 and all similar titles. Those who wish to comment can do so on Talk:Luxembourgian general election, 2013. There has also been some discussion on my own talk page.--Ipigott (talk) 09:31, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Even more crude blanket Google test reveals 995,000 results (vs. just 19,000 for -ian, see here
  • Use:

In favour of Luxembourgian

In favour of Luxembourg (as adj.)

  • Use:
    • CIA world fact book ("Adjective: Luxembourg" in 1)
    • Department for the study of Luxembourg at Sheffield University, UK ("Luxembourg studies" in 1)

In favour of Luxembourgeois

  • The Oxford English Dictionary, which does not recognise any of the other adjectives listed above.

Comments

I believe for people Luxembourgish is most common. But for the elections it should be Luxembourg elections not Luxembourgish elections.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:22, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand you? Could you find a source to support your opinion? Brigade Piron (talk) 09:24, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

As a Brit who has lived in Luxembourg for over 40 years, I have never come across the term "Luxembourgian" in everyday speech here and have seldom seen it in written communications apart from its fairly widespread use in Wikipedia (especially in article headings and in categories). However, rather than citing examples in connection with its use in other contexts, I would first like to see it disappear from titles of articles about elections, such as Luxembourgian general election, 2013 and others in the same series. In this connection, a search on Google gives c. 3,800 hits for "Luxembourg elections" (see here) compared to only 77 for "Luxembourgian elections" (here). Whatever theoretical rules are being applied to the titles of articles on elections (e.g. need for an adjective and not a noun), I think it is extremely important for Wikipedia to reflect standard usage which, in this case, is clearly "Luxembourg election".--Ipigott (talk) 10:04, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I have added Luxembourgeois as an option - this is the only adjective recognised by the OED. Number 57 11:43, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
In my opinion, Luxembourgeois is not an option. It is no longer in use in modern English. I cannot find a single instance of its use as an adjective in English, Google included.--Ipigott (talk) 13:07, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Strange. My Google search gave me this (a news story from eight days ago) as a prominent hit. Number 57 17:49, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure that "The Register" counts as a powerful supporting source to your argument, considering the BBC, a British University and Foreign office all use "Luxembourg"...Brigade Piron (talk) 17:55, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Here's an interesting point by Péporté, Kmec, Majerus and Margue (dean of the faculty of humanities of the University of Luxembourg), in their book Inventing Luxembourg: Representations of the Past, Space and Language from the Nineteenth to Twenty-First Century:

Is it 'Luxembourgish' or 'Luxembourgian' or simply 'of/from Luxembourg'? Since linguistic studies consistently use 'Luxembourgish' to refer to the language, this term has been used throughout this book. The adjective 'Luxembourgian', however, is used to describe other things pertaining to Luxembourg. Thus, people are called 'Luxembourgian' (adjective) or 'Luxembourgers" (noun). In addition, the adjective 'Luxembourg' may be used when referring to official matters: the Luxembourg constitution, the Luxembourg state etc.

I grew up saying "Luxembourgeois", and had never heard of Luxembourger/ish/ian except in American publications.Scotchorama (talk) 13:20, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

I've seen this before, but short of agreeing that there is no consensus on the adjective, I don't think it adds anything. It is blatantly obvious that "Luxembourgish" has been used (widely) as an adjective (to describe much more than just the language) which is simply ignored. As far as I can see, no-one has followed them and used their arguments, and the University of Luxembourg is not sufficiently old/august institution to carry it in its own right. Plus, they're not native speakers of English which complicates it further. Brigade Piron (talk) 17:05, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Luxembourg rather than Luxembourgian or Luxembourgish has now been adopted by general consensus in the context of Luxembourg elections, etc. I suppose this also paves the way for changing Luxembourgian nationality, passport, franc, etc., if anyone would like to tackle the problem. Luxembourgian and Luxembourgish have also been used incorrectly not just in article titles but in the text too. I've caught a number of them but I'm sure many more need to be corrected. A far more difficult problem exists in the categories where Luxembourgian has been widely used. See for example Category:Luxembourgian art -- but there are dozens more. As long as these categories continue to come up in almost all articles to do with Luxembourg and its inhabitants, people will tend to adopt the adjective themselves. Is there a solution to the problem?--Ipigott (talk) 09:39, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Dear Luxembourg experts: Here is an old Afc submission that will soon be deleted as a stale draft. It just needs a couple of reliable sources to make it viable. Is it worth keeping? —Anne Delong (talk) 01:20, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Is it not worth keeping anyway? You might not have noticed, but there are unsourced stubs on Wikipedia...they do add something, even if they will eventually need to be fixed. Can we not have it anyway? ;) Brigade Piron (talk) 07:45, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello, Brigade Piron. It has been pointed out to me by several editors in the past that the existence of poor articles is not a reason to create more. The article is in "Articles for creation" (which is for IP and beginning editors) and needs sources to get out. Also, if you haven't worked at Afc, you may not believe how many hoaxes and articles with made-up information are submitted - I have found three already today. It looks like someone has deleted the draft in the meantime; however, if you thought it was valuable aside from the referencing problem I can request that it be restored and kept for another six months to give time for sources to be found. —Anne Delong (talk) 06:47, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Help with Amb. Robert A. Mandell?

Hello! Editors at WikiProject Luxembourg might be interested in reviewing this edit request on the article for Robert A. Mandell, the former U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg. You'll see the current article on Mr. Mandell is fairly short and a bit haphazard. My draft, I believe, is a better Wikipedia article as it expands on Mr. Mandell's life, career and ambassadorship while cleaning up existing content. I'm here asking for another editor to review and consider implementing it is because I am working on behalf of Mr. Mandell, as I've disclosed on the article's discussion page. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 16:36, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

Alain Duschène and Romain Mancinelli

I started an article on General Alain Duschène, the new Chief of Defence (Luxembourg), and one on the previous chief of defence, General Romain Mancinelli. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 04:46, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

WikiProject collaboration notice from the Portals WikiProject

The reason I am contacting you is because there are one or more portals that fall under this subject, and the Portals WikiProject is currently undertaking a major drive to automate portals that may affect them.

Portals are being redesigned.

The new design features are being applied to existing portals.

At present, we are gearing up for a maintenance pass of portals in which the introduction section will be upgraded to no longer need a subpage. In place of static copied and pasted excerpts will be self-updating excerpts displayed through selective transclusion, using the template {{Transclude lead excerpt}}.

The discussion about this can be found here.

Maintainers of specific portals are encouraged to sign up as project members here, noting the portals they maintain, so that those portals are skipped by the maintenance pass. Currently, we are interested in upgrading neglected and abandoned portals. There will be opportunity for maintained portals to opt-in later, or the portal maintainers can handle upgrading (the portals they maintain) personally at any time.

Background

On April 8th, 2018, an RfC ("Request for comment") proposal was made to eliminate all portals and the portal namespace. On April 17th, the Portals WikiProject was rebooted to handle the revitalization of the portal system. On May 12th, the RfC was closed with the result to keep portals, by a margin of about 2 to 1 in favor of keeping portals.

There's an article in the current edition of the Signpost interviewing project members about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

Since the reboot, the Portals WikiProject has been busy building tools and components to upgrade portals.

So far, 84 editors have joined.

If you would like to keep abreast of what is happening with portals, see the newsletter archive.

If you have any questions about what is happening with portals or the Portals WikiProject, please post them on the WikiProject's talk page.

Thank you.    — The Transhumanist   07:46, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Expert attention

This is a notice about Category:Luxembourg articles needing expert attention, which might be of interest to your WikiProject. It will take a while before the category is populated. There might be as few as one page in the category, or zero if someone has removed the expert request tag from the page.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  17:18, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

@Mr. Guye: I already posted on the Football in Luxembourg Talk page asking what you're looking for here, but I haven't got any reply. Maybe you can reply here so that I can concentrate my efforts in improving this page accordingly? --Philk84 Talk Contributions 14:51, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

Football history resources

As part of improving Luxembourg Football articles, I made the page 1922–23 Luxembourg Cup, but got notified that it did not have sufficient references for verification yet. The previous season also has this issue, but is yet to be flagged. Looking online, I can only find the opening rounds of early cup seasons detailed on the Fussball Lux page, and every other resource only details the finals up until around 2000. Does anyone here know of any resources online or offline that may be able to help here and with other early seasons of the Luxembourg Cup? Perhaps there's something in Luxembourgish, French, or German that I don't know the translation for that I should be looking for instead. Thanks, --Philk84 Talk Contributions 14:55, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

RfC on election/referendum naming format

An RfC on moving the year from the end to the start of article titles (e.g. South African general election, 2019 to 2019 South African general election) has been reopened for further comment, including on whether a bot could be used move the articles if it closed in favour of the change: Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (government and legislation)#Proposed change to election/referendum naming format. Walfer Mayor - Change to François Sauber

Hello,

I would like to change the name of the Mayor on the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walferdange. I myself cannot change it. And the current Mayor is not Guy Arendt. It's François Sauber.

Thank you in advance. Have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.135.237.55 (talk) 16:19, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
