En masse replacement of dead Courier-Journal references

This is becoming a major problem for Louisville articles, as The Courier-Journal is stupidly making its articles go completely missing (instead of displaying a snippet of the article and linking to an archive). So, we're ending up with a lot of dead references. I recommend that we find alternative sources for these references (such as WFPL articles) and create a kind of guideline that the C-J will never be used for references again until they stop the practice of disappearing articles. Sound good? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 06:18, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

WP 1.0 bot announcement

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:33, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Louisville articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Louisville articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

A consideration for cross project consolidation of talk page templates

I have started a conversation here about the possibility of combining some of the United States related WikiProject Banners into {{WikiProject United States}}. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please take a moment and let me know. --Kumioko (talk) 19:53, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

US Collaboration reactivated & Portal:United States starting next

Casliber recently posted a suggestion on the talk page for WikiProject United States about getting the US Wikipedians Collaboration page going again in an effort to build up articles for GA through FA class. See Wikipedia:U.S. Wikipedians' notice board/USCOTM. After several days of work from him the page is up and ready for action. A few candidates have already been added for you to vote on or you can submit one using the directions provided. If you are looking for inspiration here is a link to the most commonly viewed articles currently under the scope of Wikiproject United States. There are tons of good articles in the various US related projects as well so feel free to submit any article relating to US topics (not just those under the scope of WPUS). This noticeboard is intended for ‘’’All’’’ editors working on US subjects, not just those under WPUS.

The next item I intend to start updating is Portal:United States if anyone is interested in helping. Again this is not specific to WPUS and any help would be greatly appreciated to maximize visibility of US topics. The foundation has already been established its just a matter of updating the content with some new images, biographies and articles. Please let leave a comment on the Portals talk page or let me know if you have any questions or ideas. --Kumioko (talk) 19:13, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Leaving the Wikipedia and this project - Please somebody do something with it

For personal and business reasons, I am leaving the Wikipedia indefinitely, and this includes leaving this project. I am proud to have started this project nearly five years ago, but I feel it's high time to pass the torch and see what others can do with it. I think we have accomplished a lot of excellent work for the city we love. I hope this work will continue. So long! (and yes, it's been very long. :) ) Stevie is the man! Discussion to remove the Automatically assessed logic from the WikiProject United States template

Greetings, there is a discussion regarding removal of the logic used to populate Automatically assessed article categories from Template:WikiProject United States. Most of the categories (over 220 Wikipedia wide) were deleted in February 2013 because they were empty. These categories were previously populated by a bot that hasn't run since 2011 and the categories aren't used. Removal of this uneeded/unused logic will greatly reduce the size and complexity of the WikiProject United States template. Any comments or questions are encouraged here. Kumioko (talk) 18:41, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Lest there is any confusion for people who don't speak the same language, the words "logic used to populate Automatically assessed article categories" refer to the feature that was supposed to allow this WikiProject's template to "inherit" class and importance ratings from other WikiProjects. Kumioko says that there are no longer any bots performing the function that formerly copied those ratings. --Orlady (talk) 23:01, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Modernizing and relaunching this project

Hello all! I would like to modernize and relaunch this project sometime in the near future. I basically would like to cleanup the project pages as much as possible while integrating all the latest project-related bells/whistles or any other recent web/wiki advancements. Relaunching would be about getting the public to become interested (or reinterested in many cases) in getting involved here. There's a lot of articles that could be written that still haven't been started, and we have many existing articles that could use a good deal of attention.

If you have any ideas/suggestions or are interested in helping out with this modernization/relaunch, please reply to this post. Thanks for reading! Stevie is the man! TalkWork 19:16, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

See the move proposal here at "Government of Louisville, Kentucky". In the alternative, see Talk:Louisville Metro and leave comments about turning the redirect there into a disambiguation page between Louisville, Kentucky; government of Louisville, Kentucky; and neighborhoods of Louisville. (Personally, I don't think that's warranted. All incoming links to Louisville Metro I've looked at are looking for the governmental entity.) — LlywelynII 03:00, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Popular WikiProject Louisville articles for December 2014

Here are the most viewed articles from our project determined from this monthly WikiProject U.S. report (#1 is the most viewed):

  1. Jennifer Lawrence
  2. Muhammad Ali
  3. Tom Cruise
  4. Rajon Rondo
  5. Jim McElwain
  6. Nicole Scherzinger

The WP US report determines their top 500 articles using Wikipedia server logs. I compared the links on their page to the articles in our project list. And voila. What do you think? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 01:24, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Early next month, we're going to start having our own "popular pages" list generated. It will show 1,000, but I will report the Top 10 here. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 02:07, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

25% of our articles need some form of cleanup - here's an easy way to find what needs fixing

You may have seen the box with the broom on the project's front page. It contains a link to all the current cleanup issues (updated once a week) for our entire set of articles. If you have a particular kind of issue you enjoy correcting more than others, this is the page for you, because it breaks it all down for you. You can also sort article cleanup lists by various factors, including the quality assessment (class) and the importance to our project. If you have any questions about the listings, I will do my best to answer them. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 06:34, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Pageview stats

After a recent request, I added WikiProject Louisville to the list of projects to compile monthly pageview stats for. The data is the same used by http://stats.grok.se/en/ but the program is different, and includes the aggregate views from all redirects to each page. The stats are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Louisville/Popular pages.

The page will be updated monthly with new data. The edits aren't marked as bot edits, so they will show up in watchlists. You can view more results, request a new project be added to the list, or request a configuration change for this project using the Tool Labs tool. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! Mr.Z-man 15:46, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Head's up for next month: Clem Haskins will no longer appear in the rankings because I've removed that article as part of a group of articles that I realized recently are only very narrowly (at best) within the scope of our project. Haskins and the others were only draft picks and not actual players for the Kentucky Colonels, and they had no other significant notable connection to the Louisville area. Stevie is the man! In terms of assessments, 2 are good articles, 5 are 'B', 2 are 'C' and 1 is 'Start'.

Compared to June's listing, Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (United States) (#51), David Blatt (no longer included in project), Rob Riggle (#24), D'Angelo Russell (#15) and Kentucky Derby (#47) fell out of the Top 10. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 16:04, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Major Kentucky gubernatorial candidates (Round 4)

Since both major gubernatorial candidates are included in our project, I am comparing their views between now and the election. For September 2015, here's how they rank:

As you can see, Conway and Bevin moved up a similar number of positions in rank, and Conway's views spread worsened again, but only by 1.9 percentage points. Therefore, Bevin's advance toward Conway has slowed dramatically from the previous month.

Now, let's add independent candidate Drew Curtis from the new WikiProject Kentucky's most popular articles, by estimating his rank as if he were in our list:

As you can see, Curtis has less than half the views of the 2nd-place Bevin. However, his wiki view share (17%) is considerably better than his strength in public polls. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 17:44, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Here's the final comparative ranking from October 2015:

As you can see, Bevin enjoyed a late surge, and he obviously won the election. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 22:51, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Louisville's Top 10 (most viewed) – November 2015

Here's our most popular articles for November:

  1. Jennifer Lawrence ↑2
  2. Muhammad Ali
  3. Tom Cruise ↓2
  4. Nicole Scherzinger ↑1
  5. Colonel Sanders ↑2
  6. Lewis and Clark Expedition ↑2
  7. KFC ↑3
  8. Matt Bevin ↑69 *new*
  9. Bryson Tiller stub ↑4 *new*
  10. Hunter S. Thompson ↓4

In terms of assessments, 1 is a good article, 6 are 'B', 1 is 'C', 1 is 'Start', and 1 is a stub. It's unusual for a stub to make it to the top ten, so I recommend that anyone who has the wherewithal to expand Bryson Tiller, please do so.

Compared to October's listing, Amobi Okoye (#128) and Jennifer Carpenter (#11) fell out of the Top 10. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 15:52, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Louisville's Top 10 (most viewed) – December 2015

Here's our most popular articles for December:

  5. Nicole Scherzinger ↓1
  6. Hunter S. Thompson ↑4
  7. Lewis and Clark Expedition ↓1
  8. KFC ↓1
  9. Colonel Sanders ↓4
  10. Jennifer Carpenter ↑1 *returning*

In terms of assessments, 1 is a good article, 6 are 'B', 1 is 'C' and 2 are 'Start' (Bryson Tiller is no longer a stub, actually).

Compared to November's listing, Matt Bevin (#41) fell out of the Top 10. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 17:14, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Louisville Action Items - Why and What

In December 2015, I created a table on our main page listing "WikiProject Louisville Action Items", initially starting with 3 rows. Today, I expanded it to 5. These are, by statistics and/or editorial judgment, articles needing the most action right now.

My motivations for creating this table were:

  1. I thought there should be a centralized, obvious, honking yellow spot which showed our project members what articles should get the most attention right now. I am hopeful of potential team efforts on the listed articles. And focus is good.  :)
  2. The project's front page needed more dynamic content, which based on my web development experience, tends to attract more viewers to the page and thus the project. (This is also partly why I added "Most Edited Articles" to the infobox recently)
  3. The project's front page needed interesting things added to it. Most project front pages are boring, and I wanted something to make our project look original and lively. (This is also why I've been doing other visual improvements)

Following is an explanation of the action categories:

  • Priority Articles with Issues – These are priority articles (articles graded by quality/importance from High/C to Top/FA) which have the most cleanup issues. Generally ordered by importance, quality and recentness of issues. These are revised as cleanup issues are addressed or new cleanup issues are identified.
  • Subpriority Articles with Issues – These articles are ones not meeting the priority criteria which have the most cleanup issues, excluding articles with a minor connection to the Louisville area. Generally ordered by importance, quality and recentness of issues. These are revised as cleanup issues are addressed or new cleanup issues are identified.
  • Popular Stubs – These are stub articles which have more views than other stub articles in our project. Therefore, they should have a higher priority for expansion. Ordered by views. These are revised as stubs are expanded/de-stubbed or the popularity (by views) of stub articles fluctuates.
  • Needed Articles – These are Louisville area-related subjects which seem to be the ones most needing an article. These are decided and ordered entirely by editorial judgment. These are revised as articles in the list are created or upon a realization of a more important subject that needs an article.

If any project members want to join the editorial staff that selects the entries for the Action Items, please add your username here. Please feel free to reply with any questions. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:17, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

More revamp

I just revamped the navigation banner again to include more common tasks, specifically those related to developing and expanding articles. It is also somewhat reformatted and includes a link to our Action Items. I've also made updates to the Tasks department to expand and clarify. Feedback is welcome as always. Stevie is the man! 2016 Community Wishlist Survey Proposal to Revive Popular Pages

Greetings WikiProject Louisville/Archive 5 Members!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about a technical proposal to revive your Popular Pages list in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

If the above proposal gets in the Top 10 based on the votes, there is a high likelihood of this bot being restored so your project will again see monthly updates of popular pages.

Further, there are over 260 proposals in all to review and vote for, across many aspects of wikis.

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 18:03, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

  2. RecentChangesLinked should search associated pages

Please consider and vote on these by December 12. Thank you again for your time! Stevie is the man! TalkWork 16:48, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Louisville Male High School needs lots of love, or an editathon?

Louisville Male High School has been leading the pack in our vast project with the most issues (around a dozen dated issues) for a quite a long time. Would somebody interested in this subject or interested in working on high school articles like to take it on? Or should we set aside a day in the near future to have an editathon for it? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 23:03, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Popular pages is back!

Popular pages -- the list of the top 1,000 most viewed Louisville area-related articles -- is back after a year hiatus. The original maintainer of the bot that produced it decided to discontinue his work with the bot. It has taken quite a monumental effort to get it back online, including pushing for it in the meta:2016 Community Wishlist Survey (where it ended up as the #9 choice!) and a lot of redevelopment. I hope everyone enjoys the fresh data. Especially note that the data now includes mobile device views of articles where it didn't before, so we have even better accuracy.

Starting next month, given the bot continues to run normally, I will start doing month-to-month comparisons in the Top 10 again. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 16:32, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Updating information that is incorrect for an article on Edward Worthington, the Irish Captain

Hello,

I am new to Wikipedia and I updated the information on Captain Edward Worthington from Ireland, Maryland and Kentucky yesterday, but today it is gone. I realize that it might not have been in the correct format, but I would like to know how I can have the new information posted on Edward's page. There were two notable Edward Worthingtons living in and around Mercer and Boyle Counties in Kentucky in 1800. I have the information on the second Edward Worthington who was a Judge and State Representative for Danville, Kentucky. If someone would assist me, I would gladly forward the information with cited links and references to have them update the data on Edward Worthington's Wikipedia page.

The following information is incorrect and should be linked to the second Edward Worthington of Mercer and Boyle Counties in Kentucky, not Captain Edward Worthington: "His grandson, William H. Worthington, was an officer with the 5th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War.[1] Historian and author, Kathleen L. Lodwick is a direct descendant of Edward Worthington.[2] Noted attorney, Greg A. Jennings of Owensboro, Kentucky is also, a direct descendant of Edward Worthington."

Please advise me in how to correct the information listed for the Irish Captain Edward Worthington under General George R Clark's command.

@Camworth: this article isn't a part of WikiProject Louisville. You may want to inquire at WP:WikiProject Kentucky. Basically, an article shouldn't be used to distinguish between two people. It would be better to write a separate article for the other person with the same name and then have a hatnote at the top distinguishing between the two. Covering both in one article is ordinarily confusing to readers. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:01, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

Popular pages report

We – Community Tech – are happy to announce that the Popular pages bot is back up-and-running (after a one year hiatus)! You're receiving this message because your WikiProject or task force is signed up to receive the popular pages report. Every month, Community Tech bot will post at Wikipedia:WikiProject Louisville/Archive 5/Popular pages with a list of the most-viewed pages over the previous month that are within the scope of WikiProject Louisville.

We've made some enhancements to the original report. Here's what's new:

  • The pageview data includes both desktop and mobile data.
  • The report will include a link to the pageviews tool for each article, to dig deeper into any surprises or anomalies.
  • The report will include the total pageviews for the entire project (including redirects).

We're grateful to Mr.Z-man for his original Mr.Z-bot, and we wish his bot a happy robot retirement. Just as before, we hope the popular pages reports will aid you in understanding the reach of WikiProject Louisville, and what articles may be deserving of more attention. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at m:User talk:Community Tech bot.

Reassessing an article with {WP US} already in place

I am working to request that Trinity High School (Louisville) be reassessed. The problem is that the page already has the {WikiProject United States} project banner with |Louisville=yes. I have tried every variant of "reassess=yes", and the talk page still says in preview "unknown parameter." I was wondering if someone could provide assistance in the reassessment of the article, or tell me how to add the "reassess" tag with the {WP US} parameter. An assistance is appreciated. WikiProject collaboration notice from the Portals WikiProject

The reason I am contacting you is because there are one or more portals that fall under this subject, and the Portals WikiProject is currently undertaking a major drive to automate portals that may affect them.

Portals are being redesigned.

The new design features are being applied to existing portals.

At present, we are gearing up for a maintenance pass of portals in which the introduction section will be upgraded to no longer need a subpage. In place of static copied and pasted excerpts will be self-updating excerpts displayed through selective transclusion, using the template {{Transclude lead excerpt}}.

The discussion about this can be found here.

Maintainers of specific portals are encouraged to sign up as project members here, noting the portals they maintain, so that those portals are skipped by the maintenance pass. Currently, we are interested in upgrading neglected and abandoned portals. There will be opportunity for maintained portals to opt-in later, or the portal maintainers can handle upgrading (the portals they maintain) personally at any time.

Background

On April 8th, 2018, an RfC ("Request for comment") proposal was made to eliminate all portals and the portal namespace. On April 17th, the Portals WikiProject was rebooted to handle the revitalization of the portal system. On May 12th, the RfC was closed with the result to keep portals, by a margin of about 2 to 1 in favor of keeping portals.

There's an article in the current edition of the Signpost interviewing project members about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

Since the reboot, the Portals WikiProject has been busy building tools and components to upgrade portals.

So far, 84 editors have joined.

If you would like to keep abreast of what is happening with portals, see the newsletter archive.

If you have any questions about what is happening with portals or the Portals WikiProject, please post them on the WikiProject's talk page.

Thank you.    — The Transhumanist   07:45, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

Merge into WikiProject Kentucky?

Should this WikiProject be converted into a task force of WikiProject Kentucky? ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:44, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

Opposed - For posterity, in case this group's silence is taken as complacency, I would like to add my opinion. I think the Louisville metropolitan area has enough unique history and culture to justify its own project. Merging this project with the Kentucky project would also prove problematic as much of this project actually covers topics in Southern Indiana. ---CivilianArthur (talk) 16:01, 18 October 2021 (UTC) CivilianArthur (talk) 16:00, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sources

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

Any interest in reawakening this WikiProject?

Frankly, I'm excited there's not a whole lot to update on various pages to bring this project current on most everything. Lots of things have continued to work in my absence (btw, I used to be Stevietheman). So, would there be any interest from my fellow Wikipedians in seeing this project becomes alive again? Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 02:47, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

I went ahead and gave the front page and project navigation a fresh coat of paint, making colors more consistent and representative of colors in Louisville's flag. I also did quite a bit of reformatting and revising content. Everything is updated except "Project News". Last, since there's a newer map of our metropolitan area, I replaced the one we were using. It shows the entire CSA (combined statistical area) - I figured what's a few more counties to cover, especially as the federal government keeps adding/subtracting counties from the MSA. At least this way, it can be more stable for our use. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 09:24, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Assessment department revamped

Hi all, yesterday I finally got around to cleaning up our Assessment department, something I had meant to do when I was more active several years ago. A lot of the info there was either out of date or didn't apply well to our specific project. Please let me know if you see any issues there or have any particular concerns, and I'll be happy to address them. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 21:13, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Severe backlog of cleanup issues

Also, I just wanted everyone to know that our project has a severe backlog of issues for cleaning up. Currently, there are 3,090 issues identified by the CleanupWorklistBot that runs weekly. And just today they added a new cleanup category "Pages with broken anchors", which affects 34 of our articles. Broken anchors are basically links that go to sections in other articles that have been either removed or renamed.

While some of the issues are somewhat easy to clean up (such as broken anchors), others are more difficult (such as articles with a promotional tone). At any rate, if those reading would take some time to address some of the issues, it would be of great assistance for maintaining the quality of our project's included articles. Beginner question about cleanup

How would one go about editing the cleanup list? There are some pages I've cleaned up so the list needs to be updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CivilianArthur (talkcontribs) 19:09, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

@CivilianArthur:, I'm sorry for the very tardy reply (I just recently became active in the Wikipedia again after a hiatus). If you are referring to the cleanup list produced by the CleanupWorklistBot, that is updated weekly on Tuesday by the bot. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 22:30, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Membership -> Participation

Per a recent category discussion, soon Category:WikiProject Louisville members will be renamed to Category:WikiProject Louisville participants. I'd like to see if there would be any objection in our project moving away from a membership model to a participation model. Nothing much would change, as in some ways, I've already been nudging the project in that direction since the mid-2010s, and we would still keep a sign-up page for anyone who wants to be on a list associated with the project. Most of the change will be language, with the word 'member' being replaced with 'participant'. And any notion of this being a club rather than the action center it should be would be zapped. Thoughts? Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 00:06, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Done The new Participation and outreach department is now complete, with modifications all around the project to support it. Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 02:56, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
