Indigenous women in Europe?[edit]

Are articles about indigenous women in Europe such as the Sámi excluded from this Wikithon btw? They're quite marginalized in the Wikipedias, too. -Yupik (talk) 16:33, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all! Please edit them! Wadewitz (talk) 17:00, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks! -Yupik (talk) 12:43, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion Box[edit]

I found that as soon as I made changes to the article on Chandra Talpade Mohanty that it was hit with multiple flags that should have been there before I started working. I also found some really intrusive "helpful comments" on my Talk page about the article by the person who flagged it down. This leads me to believe this project was being actively monitored. Perhaps #GWWI would be more effective as a stealth project going forward so that we can work in peace and quiet? A closed e-mail list for coordinating article changes might lead to more effective improvement on Wikipedia? ChristineBushMV (talk) 08:19, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ChristineBushMV (talk) thanks for your comments. I am one of the main organizers of #GWWI. I know the person who flagged down your article, and would like to encourage you to believe that she acted in good faith. That editor has been one of the main champions for women editors and content about women on Wikipedia for a long time. She pointed out a few things about the page I created which another long-time Wikipedian had flagged as well. All of this will ultimately help ensure the longevity of my page, which I appreciate. I also think that "stealth mode" isn't ultimately useful--We want to create a community of active Wikipedians who help to change the content and structure of Wikipedia in the open. We're all not perfect, but we're trying! Thanks so much for your contributions to #GWWI. Thorgodofwar (talk) 08:48, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia relies on transparency so it is a good idea to be very upfront about one is trying to do - that way, the community can help! We want as many editors to help us as possible! Wadewitz (talk) 21:40, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
