List of Articles known in English by a Foreign Title

I'm sorry but I can't get it to link - Rothorpe 23:51, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

This page should not be moved out of the main namespace

This page belongs in the main namespace, as according to the list guideline it is a type of article. It is both a structured list and a table of contents, and therefore an important navigation aid. See WP:LIST.

Also, it's been in the main namespace for about 2 years, so moving it out without a discussion on its talk page is entirely inappropriate. There wasn't even a link here to a discussion hosted on a centralized page.

I'm moving this list back to where it belongs so it is not estranged from the set of lists it belongs to and is the mother of.

The problem seems to be that two guidelines clash. Lists are definitely a type of article, including lists that are tables of contents. They are a vital part of Wikipedia. The words "list" and "lists" in the page title is a self-reference, but it is allowed under the list guideline. Lists have been a part of Wikipedia from the beginning. That the titles are self-referential is a long-standing exception to the no self-references guideline. The Transhumanist 00:19, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

RfC on Lists and Contents pages

Please see a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Contents#Contents pages, and lists of lists concerning the Wikipedia:Contents subpages, and specifically on the namespace they belong in. Thanks. --Quiddity 17:14, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

List of fictional things

The article List of fictional things or Archive of fictional things should be restored and transferred to this page under a "fictional topics" section. The purpose of the article was to be a reference for other fictional articles, but was deleted as "listcruft." I would appreciate someone going to deletion review or contacting an admin for this to happen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.28.175.4 (talk) 17:05, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Topical contents pages transclusion test

I'm using this page to test the process of transcluding contents page sections to multiple pages. You can see the related discussion at Portal talk:Contents#Topics-based contents pages project. You can see a working example of how a section here is transcluded to another page at Portal:Contents/Reference. RichardF 03:24, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Coordinating Portal:Contents pages

A group of editors is working on coordinating Portal:Contents and all of its subpages. This activity has two basic parts. The simplest part is to coordinate their presentation, such as page layouts. Most of the discussions about how to accomplish this are at Portal talk:Contents. The more involved part is to coordinate their substance, such as what gets linked from the pages and their classifications. Most of the discussions about how to accomplish this are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Contents and related projects such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Lists of basic topics, Wikipedia:WikiProject Lists of topics, Wikipedia:WikiProject Glossaries, Wikipedia:WikiProject Portals and Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories. Please feel free to join in on these activities. RichardF (talk) 12:46, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
