Featured news
- SummerSlam (2003) (link) is a current Featured Article candidate
- December to Dismember (2006) (link) is currently under Featured Article review.
- WWE No Way Out (link) has been elevated to Featured List status.
- 2008 WWE Draft (link) was not promoted to Featured List status, though it has been renominated as a Featured List candidate, here
- IWGP Tag Team Championship (link) is a current Featured List removal candidate.

Good article news
- Armageddon (2006), Dark Angel (wrestler), Juggernaut (wrestler), and Lockdown (2008) are currently Good article candidates.
- Cyber Sunday (2007) (link), Lipstick and Dynamite, Piss and Vinegar: The First Ladies of Wrestling (link), Royal Rumble (2007) (link), Stacy Carter (link), SummerSlam (1988) (link), The Great American Bash (2004) (link) and Vengeance: Night of Champions (link) have been elevated to Good Article status.
- SummerSlam (2004) (link) failed its Good Article nomination.

July 23, 1984 - Wendi Richter defeated The Fabulous Moolah for the WWF Women's Championship.
June 26, 1992 - Buddy Rogers died of a stroke aged 71.
July 27, 1963 - Fritz Von Erich defeated Verne Gagne for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship.
July 27, 2002 - Low-Ki defeated Christopher Daniels, Spanky, and Doug Williams to become the inaugural ROH World Heavyweight Champion.
July 27, 2002 - Eddie Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit in a tournament final to win the reinstated WWE United States Championship.
August 3, 1997 - Bret Hart defeated The Undertaker for the WWF Heavyweight title.

At The Great American Bash:
- Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder won the WWE Tag Team Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match.
- Shelton Benjamin won the WWE United States Championship, defeating Matt Hardy.
- Michelle McCool defeated Natalya to become the inaugural WWE Divas Champion.
TNA has posted a notice on their official website detailing a release of wrestler Kaz. This has been reported to be kayfabe by numerous other sites, but be prepared to revert edits to Kaz's article regarding this as well as List of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling alumni
A redesigned ECW Championship belt was introduced on July 22 during an episode of ECW.
Mike Adamle was appointed the new General Manager of Raw. Todd Grisham has now taken over as the commentator for ECW.
