  • Hmm... I don't know if it counts as a stub, but a very short, basic article. Considering his importance in current policies, and his historic achievement, it's very definitely deserving. Plus, as the article points out, in bold: "Dr Manmohan singh is the first prime minister of independent India not to have the letter "r" in his full name." :) --Dmcdevit 23:33, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • I think we could say the same for most of the Presidents of India and the Prime Ministers of India articles.

Comments:

  • Wikipedia does not have any articles on the concept of college cultural festivals in India. I have now created a basic stub. This article is eminently suited to collaborative work - each person can add his/her own college to the list, and we can then distil out the common features of what comprises a culfest, and differences in culfests between different cities and regions. -- Brhaspati 06:33, 2005 Feb 19 (UTC)

  • We need an article on the linkes of Cabinet of Canada.
  • What are we focusing on - the structure of the cabinet in general or the current cabinet in particular? -- Brhaspati (talk, contribs) 13:26, 2005 Feb 26 (UTC)
    • Both, but a base article on the structure would be nice. Arunram 02:40, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)
      • IMO, it should focus on Cabinet in general with a summary of the current cabinet which links to a main article on the 2004 Indian Cabinet or something like that. In fact, a specific instance of an Indian Cabinet is bound to be very fluid and dynamic so that it is difficult to be up to date on that. -- Sundar 04:14, Mar 1, 2005 (UTC)
        • I concur. I thought I was trying to communicate the same, though I did not clarify that the current cabinet would be another article. Cheers Arunram 12:35, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I have created an article Terrorism in Kashmir with some contributon from User:Gandolf. I was suprised to see the inexistance of the article previously. However, Terrorism in India is a stub and I hope some valuable contributions are made to this imporant topic. --IncMan 11:28, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
  • One of the problems with this article is going to be gathering enough people with time to prevent mindless vandalism, I am not sure we have enough number of people for the task. If sufficient number of people sign up, support--IMpbt 06:26, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Share the above opinion. Also, maintaining NPOV itself will be difficult if people started ruthlessly editing it. But, such an article will definitely be an interesting one, given that most of our Indian FA's are on places only. -- Sundar (talk · contribs) 06:39, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)
  • I too have doubts on the suitability of the title. It may be construed as a POV. =Nichalp «Talk»= 07:41, Jun 19, 2005 (UTC)

I'll contribute as long as a voter tag is put on my talk page. Falphin 19:07, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Well, I hope accurate data is provided while editing the article. The Pakistanis claim that Indian aircrafts losses were thrice more than PAF's aircraft losses during the 1965 war, something which most Indians don't believe. Plus, both India and Pakistan claim that they won the 1942 war. Hence it is impossible for the article to be unbiased. --IncMan 19:48, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Yes but that doesn't mean the article shouldn't be expanded. Falphin 21:11, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
If it gets selected, being an INCOTW, there is chance of its content being pro-Indian. The article should be expanded but it is not an entirely India-related topic (the wars involved 3 countries: India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and hence I do not support its selection. --IncMan 21:30, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
Would you rather this be nominated on the regular COTW? Falphin 21:31, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Yes, I think that will be a better option. --IncMan 21:35, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Sethusamudram_Shipping_Canal_Project

Nominated June 23, 2005; needs 5 votes by June 26, 2005;

The article would greatly benefit from more research and local input of the people living around that area. Article assumes prime importance because of its percieved environmental problems as opposed to tremendous economic & horticultural benefit if implemented.

T.N. Seshan

Just wanted to bring to everyone's notice that no article exists for T N Seshan. 130.203.202.156 30 June 2005 01:33 (UTC)

Sorry, actually there is an article. There was a spelling mistake in one article, leading to an edit page. The article could certainly be expanded though.

As I said, the nomination not only includes the article on Hinduism, but also those which are related to Hinduism. Besides, I think its the only FA with a cleanup tag. --IncMan 18:55, July 15, 2005 (UTC)
You'll have to select a single article. There is a Wikipedia:WikiProject Hinduism, so that is the platform to improve all Hinduism-related articles instead of nominating a group of articles under one banner. =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:23, July 16, 2005 (UTC)
I read the Hinduism article. It is pathetic. I don't know how it made it into the featured list. Or maybe the damage was done later. Some problems with the article:
  • Extremely long, with many unnecessary details
  • Highly unorganized, poor continuity
  • Poor language
  • POV at places
  • Important things missing

A major overhaul is required.
