Join us at Concordia Library and McGill Library during Science Literacy Week on Wednesday September 21st, 2016. This inclusive, hands-on, drop-in event will show you how to create your own Wikipedia account and edit articles related to science, and more. The theme is Women in Science.

2016 is the Wikipedia Year of Science[1] an initiative to improve Wikipedia’s science coverage.

The drop-in event will take place at across two institutions in Montreal: Concordia University and McGill University Library.

Concordia University Library Event information[edit]

  • Date: Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 (and continuing through week of Sept 19-25)
  • Time: 2pm - 5pm
  • Location: Webster Library, LB-322
  • Participants: No Wikipedia editing experience necessary. Help will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers as needed throughout the event.

  • Participants: No Wikipedia editing experience necessary. Workshop will open with a 30 minute tutorial and there will be individual help available as needed.

The theme for this Edit-a-Thon is Women in Science based on the WikiProject: Women Scientists. There are a number of ways you can contribute to Wikipedia . You can create or enhance Wikipedia articles, add external links, verify and update citations, provide resources to help those writing articles, and assist with research.
