1853 – La traviata: "Ah, fors'è lui" ... "Sempre libera"

From Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata, sung by Lucrezia Bori in 1910 for Edison Records.

Lucrezia Bori had a voice of a sort that sopranos are no longer trained in. This fine recording shows it off to excellent effect; in additon, the second half, "Sempre libera", is arguably one of the best known parts of La traviata.
