I am new to Wikipedia as a user, not as a reader. I will try and keep my question as concise and to the point as I can: I am a rising amateur model in California who is also in process of writing a book. I understand that we cannot make articles about ourselves (Wikipedia would be a MESS if that were allowed), but if we have actual credibility under our name, and we simply want to legitimately put our biography and information on this site as a reference and information source, is there any way to get this done? Can it be requested for someone else to do instead? Thank you VERY MUCH to any editor who helps answer this! Zyzxxinfinity (talk) 01:20, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually you can write an autobiography as it is not forbidden, rather strongly discouraged as ill advised. WP:COI contains more information on this. Also, even if you are accurate with your facts, they can only be included when verifiable in secondary sources. Significant coverage in reliable sources is also a main criteria for article inclusion and can not be overlooked. If this helps, great, if you need more assistance freely ask your questions. ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!
