narodni[edit]

Your quote: "Please stop renaming articles in contravention of their name's actual meaning, especially where their meaning is entirely clear. And BTW, the correct English term for "Narodni Heroj" is National Hero, and "NOB" is The National Liberation war. The fact that most articles on Wikipedia use wrong names is up to a one or two determined users who insist on using the wrong terminology." My response: I'm not sure what you're talking about. "Stop renaming" implies a pattern of behavior, "actual meaning" implies some kind of received wisdom, and "BTW" just sounds snotty. The characterization that "most articles on Wikipedia use wrong names" is laughable. Doremo (talk) 13:38, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Slovene Home Guard[edit]

Unless you prove that there is "a respectable counter opinion" AND that the sources I chose represent a biased view on the subject, your claim is invalid. Oh and AFTER you do so, please show me what rule wikipedia rule mandates the deletion of the content, in which the topic is not sufficiently covered from both sides (as far as I know, you should apply tags to such content, not delete it).

I only posted this here so you would notice, please continue the discussion in the SHG talk page. Tadej5553 (talk) 17:47, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Meeting in Ljubljana[edit]

Hi, perhaps you have missed it, but in Ljubljana there will be a WikiMeeting at the 10th anniversary of the Slovene Wikipedia.[1] If you're still active at Culture.si, that may be an opportunity to have some talks about further collaboration between the projects with me or other editors. I'll try to come but can't promise. --Eleassar my talk 12:56, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

SloWiki10[edit]

Živjo, here is my official invitation though Eleassar has already invited you.

MSU Interview[edit]

Dear Zocky,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.9.115.210 (talk) 21:58, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted[edit]

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon. It's 1-3 June and registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, just mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

Our goals for the event are to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 14:19, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Culture.si texts[edit]

Hi, I've copied some material from Culture.si to Natural History Museum of Slovenia. Could you please verify if the site had been properly attributed? Is it enough to mention that the material was copied from Culture.si with a reference, should this be mentioned on the talk page or should it mentioned below the references, with a template similar to {{1911}}? Thanks a lot. --Eleassar my talk 08:39, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

LinkComplete clash with gadget[edit]

At Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#"Add an edit link for the lead section" isn't working for me it was found that LinkComplete doesn't work with this gadget in MonoBook. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:00, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
