Florida Marlins colors[edit]

I see that you kept making changes to the Marlins' templates. I understand that teal is associated with the team, but it is an accent color for mostly black, just like red accents blue for the Cubs and orange accents black for the Giants. DragoLink08 (talk) 01:17, 6 June 2009 (UTC)DragoLink08[reply]

Template:MLBPrimaryColor has teal listed as the primary color for the Marlins for use in templates and infoboxes - I don't think you can dispute using teal in the team navbox/template, unless you want to dispute teal as the team's primary color in the MLBPrimaryColor template. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 18:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How would I do that then, because I think teal is just a complement color for black. DragoLink08 (talk) 21:47, 11 June 2009 (UTC)DragoLink08[reply]

Try the discussion page for the Template:MLBPrimaryColor. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 21:01, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Revert[edit]

Your changes to Jessica Alba were reverted. Placing the copyrighted image at the top of the page meant that it was being used to depict Ms. Alba, not to provide illustration of the controversy surrounding the Playboy cover. That is in violation of Wikipedia's copyright and fair-use policies. Sorry. --Yamla 15:18, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Rising[edit]

You pulled the "Save System" section I'd created off the page - my language there reflected the general tone of the reviews I cited in those paragraphs, including a citation for the gameplay roots of that system. I appreciate your effort to clean up the page - the Capcom Trivia section was a good move, but I think you overzealously pruned a useful section with a meaningful reference and citation. I'm going to carefully restore parts of what I had originally inscribed there - hope you like what I make better. -JustinHall 17:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're real good about staying on top of Dead Rising and keeping it neat! Thanks for that. Recently, someone introduced a section on characters; you wrote: "(I'm all for going into more depth about characters, but that was not well formatted)" and then you removed the entire contribution! If something is poorly formatted, wouldn't you fix the formatting, instead of removing the content? -JustinHall 16:08, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that you cleaned up my section on the text size issue. I don't disagree with your decision to swap the section name from "Controversy" to "Issues", but it does lend itself to a larger discussion on developing for HD/SD. It caused a lot on anger and gnashing of teeth which is why I chose controversy because it alludes to larger issues. Some gamers have been discussing this since launch, citing Perfect Dark Zero as also problematic. Thanks for the cleanup, also. GilloD 15:42, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No Trivia sections[edit]

Hi Joker, you're making good edits on music articles, however please don't introduce Trivia sections into them, as you recently did on Achtung Baby. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Music/MUSTARD#Trivia, and User:Wasted_Time_R#Why Trivia sections are bad for why not. Wasted Time R 15:50, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen Colbert episodes[edit]

Can the polling results be moved to another area? I believe that some information on the follow up of the request for the bridge to be named after him is an interesting as information about elephant population entries in wikipedia.
cprockhill 01:22, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the point. First of all, the poll isn't even closed yet. It ends September 8th, so having it "up-to-the-moment" isn't really useful. Secondly, I don't think results with those specific of details for just a simple poll are necessary for an encylopedia article. Y2kcrazyjoker4 16:04, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree on both points. I believe the final results should included. If the concern is its fit in relation to the flow and style of the episode page I can get on board with that and we can work on where to include it. On the point of information being up to the moment, there are numerous examples where information is provided as up date until a certain point...for instance...big brother changes all the time as the show airs, the number of daily show episodes changes as they come out with more, and even the names of places on the earth is never really completely acurate as it changes yearly. So, I believe that we could create another page where we keep track of this information and just put a link in the main page...would this be an acceptable compromise?cprockhill 01:22, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how you would do that, but I'm open to any ideas. Y2kcrazyjoker4 04:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will work on the idea and get back to you; appreciate the feedbackcprockhill 12:46, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

svr 07[edit]

there is new info up at ign.com concerning season mode

The PS2 image makes the article look more consistent. Consistency improves the quality of articles. I readded the 360 logo to the article since it means that much to you. -- bulletproof 3:16 23:49, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It would make sense to have consistency among articles if the games weren't available across different generations of video game consoles. If SVR was available on the PS2 for the next 50 years, then yes, it would make sense to have the PS2 cover for the sake of consistency. But the PS2 is now outdated, it is now only current-gen. Now that next-gen is being phased in and replacing current-gen, it makes little sense to me to keep putting the PS2 cover in just because "that's the way it's always been done." User notice: temporary 3RR block[edit]

Regarding reversions[1] made on September 20 2006 to Mariano Rivera[edit]

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future.
The duration of the block is 24 hours. William M. Connolley 09:18, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will leave the article alone for 24 hours. Y2kcrazyjoker4 19:35, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, you're unblocked. AS to how to solve the issue behind this: you need WP:DR - which at this stage means (a) talking and (b) getting more people involved William M. Connolley 20:38, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Once again thank you for sane editing of the U2 article. Although i agree with its removal - as i do with so much little bits of trivia that get chucked in there - a lot of that info is actually quite valid, but just not in the main article. hmmm. Is there a place for U2's business dealings? (not in the introduction of course. Keep up the good work. --Merbabu 05:39, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saints Row[edit]

Hi. You removed part of my contribution to the Saints Row article, stating "Graphical issues I'm talking about universal to all TV's". I don't mind that you removed my SDTV comment but please bear in mind that this is an encyclopaedia, not a personal blog, and comments and opinions from others are just as valid as your own. No sockpuppet[edit]

Somebody's suspecting me to be a sockpuppet of you... well they're wrong... I entirely agree with you on the issue of Mariano Rivera's nicknames... I will eliminate them from the article whenever the IP address users put them back as long as I don't violate the 3RR... if you have questions or if you notice a sockpuppet investigation about you send me a message. Canjth 00:58, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from Xbox Live. Links[edit]

When editing links, make sure you check that they're valid: Links are very poorly implemented in mediawiki, for example "Love, Honour and Obey" works, whereas "Love, Honour And Obey" won't unless a redirection page is created. Have fun editing! yandman 08:07, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Guitarhero2-xplorer.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Guitarhero2-xplorer.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --– Quadell (talk) (random) 21:17, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Smackdown VS. RAW 2007 Glitches[edit]

This game is filled with sound glitches and this fact is acknowledged by just about everyone whose played it. The glitches are a fundamental flaw in this game, and something everyone should know about, therefore it belongs in the entry. Do you have a personal stake in this matter? I.E., do you or someone related to you work for TH-Q pr Yukes? Because otherwise I can think of no reason why you would insist on removing this section. Sandman and The Hammer of God[edit]

The anonymous user had accepted to make a compromise by putting the nicknames never used in the trivia section. Could you accept this compromise, or at least (which would be better) accept to leave only "Sandman" in the trivia section? If we come to such a compromise, the revert warring would stop. I would tolerate leaving "The hammer of God" but it would be preferable to leave only "Sandman". What do you think about this compromise? Canjth 17:00, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spam[edit]

Guitar Hero II info is extremely trivial and unimportant to song articles. Besides, its unfortunately become commonplace for it to appear at the beginning/middle many of the song articles. It's got its own page, leave that info there. Darwin's Bulldog 06:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One of the best-selling games of 2006 (and the sequel to the award winning game of 2005) is not trivial. People who never play consoles know about Guitar Hero. You need to drop your snobby attitude towards consoles, and remember that you don't own the article just because you created it or contributed heavily towards it. (Also note that this is an official policy, not a guideline, so if you still don't like it, you'll have to take it to Moderation.) The Kinslayer 15:24, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:U2chicago-dvd1.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:U2chicago-dvd1.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. An editor has nominated References to media in Dead Rising, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/References to media in Dead Rising and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Fair use rationale for Image:Tabletennis-screen.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tabletennis-screen.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Guitar Hero III and Matchbook Romance[edit]

The song was on THE BAND'S MySpace.. I would think that THE BAND would know if their song is in the game or not.

I can post on my MySpace and say one of my songs is going to be in Guitar Hero 3. How is that verifiable in the least? Y2kcrazyjoker4 22:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why else would they say they're in the game? They're not going to lie to all of their fans about something like that.

People do irrational things sometimes, I can't explain irrational behavior. Fact of the matter is, though, until the makers of the game or a video game publication/website can confirm a song is in the game, it is for all intents and purposes not in the game. Politeness[edit]

While you were very polite when you removed italics from song names on my user page, you could have definitely been more so when editing "The Hands That Built America" - if you don't know how song titles are formatted, don't edit is a very strong statement that I took offense to. Please see Etiquette for tips on interaction with other Wikipedians. MelicansMatkin 13:43, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is uncalled for too. Please don't make editing wikipedia personal. It's not a question of ownership, it's a question of what is appropriate. It was a criticism of the last 3 FA's that the article history covers too many little facts, and just lists things for the sake of filling in the years. If you have a concern, take it to the talk page - please don't make uncivil remarks on edit summaries. Merbabu 02:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS, i guess all I am saying it to remember, comment on the edits not the editor. Otherwise, WP:KETTLE means no-one wins out, killing collaboration. I will work out a way to get around this issue of trivia. Perhaps you need to review previous FA comments. this for example (although in that case - the 2nd paragraph re Joshua Tree suggestions is now redundant). Merbabu 03:01, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
