Mikael Forssell[edit]

Hello. I noticed you updated Mikael Forssell's stats but couldn't tell where you'd got the figures from. Please would you go back and add your source to the stats table. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 12:20, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. You'd put 3/2 for the Cup stats, but Soccerway had 2/1, so I changed it to what Soccerway said. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:58, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for stats (again)[edit]

Hello. With this edit to Ben Gordon (footballer, born 1991), you added Boston United stats to the career stats table, but didn't add a source for the FA Cup match you included. The cited source, Soccerway, doesn't include it, so you must have got it from somewhere else. Another time, if you're adding stats that aren't in the existing cited source, please add your source as well. Don't pretend that the figures came from the existing source. It's really about time you grasped this. Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 11:18, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox format[edit]

Hello. Just a reminder that the as-of timestamp in the infobox is supposed to show a date or date/time at which the stats are unambiguously correct, not just the date the player last played. If you're bringing the stats up-to-date, then please use the current date/time, as generaed by replacing the contents of the parameter with ~~~~~. If you use a bare date days or months ago, neither reader nor potential editor can tell whether the stats are meant to be up-to-date or not, nor can they be sure of whether the stats include the match played on that date or not. Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 07:32, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Woking123. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Club infobox dates[edit]

Hi, when updating club infobox stats you should update the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 19:34, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edits regarding Isaiah Brown loan termination[edit]

Hi, I suspect it's largely immaterial, as it will happen in a couple of days anyway, but your edits reporting the termination of Isaiah's loan are premature. The ESPN article you cited [1] does not contain any positive confirmation that the loan deal has been terminated, and it has not been announced by either Rotherham or Chelsea. Please consider as a minimum updating the cite when it is announced, but I would prefer it if you would self revert the paragraph. I don't want to remove the career updates part so haven't just reverted your whole edits. Cheers, Gricehead (talk) 10:23, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Charly Musonda 2016.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unsourced stats[edit]

I've just removed the Wingate & Finchley stats from Ryan Sellers, for the second time. I'm sure you know perfectly well that the webpage you added as a source doesn't verify the stats you added.

I wish you'd explain your thinking: why would someone take the trouble to format the content so beautifully, and always update the timestamp, but still deliberately add a "source" that doesn't verify the content they include? Struway2 (talk) 22:28, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I understand your reasoning with deleting the stats, as there is no source on the games played in the 'Isthmian League Cup', but I regularly check their website and Twitter page to update this. Woking123 (talk) 15:33, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. The problem isn't that your stats are wrong: I don't suppose they are. The problem is that if you supply a source that doesn't verify your content, it not only fails verification of that specific content but also casts doubt on everything else you add. Which is a pity.
There are two acceptable approaches, I think. Both are illustrated in the Harrogate Town rows at Clayton Donaldson#Career statistics. For his first spell, in 2002/03, no-one has yet produced a source for any "other" appearances he might have made, so the entry for that column is left blank. For his second spell, in 2004/05, the main source for the league stats doesn't cover cup appearances, so the editor who ref'd that row (not me!) has added additional sources to verify those apps. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:04, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, would it be ok if I remove the Isthmian League Cup stats, but keep the League, FA Trophy and FA Cup stats? Woking123 (talk) 15:51, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Include what you like, but make sure whatever you do include is sourced, consistent, and that the figures match those in the source. At Sellers, you could always source any cup matches that aren't included in your main reference to "match reports linked at club-website fixture-list". Wouldn't work for league games, though... could hardly expect a reader to go through dozens of match reports to verify, but a few cup games wouldn't be unreasonable (in my personal opinion, others might disagree). Format something like:
<ref>{{cite web |url=whatever the main ref is...}}</ref><br><ref>For FA Cup, FA Trophy and Isthmian League Cup, see match reports linked at: {{cite web |url=http://www.wingatefinchley.com/fixtures1617.php |title=First team fixtures and results 2016/17 etc etc}}</ref>
From a good faith point of view, you'd probably do well to not keep on creating unref'd stats tables... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:07, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

February 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ryan Sellers, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. I'm sorry, but just putting the unsourced stats back in again isn't an acceptable option. Struway2 (talk) 09:31, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Aryan Tajbakhsh, you may be blocked from editing. GiantSnowman 16:03, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I believe I should be unblocked because I was never originally given a time frame on first block on the account, Woking123 and a couple months later, I was able to create a new account with new problems until I was blocked again about a month later, for apparently evading a block. Since my first block, I have but since made only positive edits to articles with the idea of improving their quality and accuracy. I believe not one of my edits has been negative since this and feel harshly punished for these actions. I would be extremely grateful if this ban was revoked and I could continue to edit Wikipedia freely.

Decline reason:

If you think all of your edits since your first block on 2017-01-15 were positive, there's zero chance we will ever unblock you. This page is littered with warnings since that time. You were blocked for a week since that time. You then violated WP:SOCK. Come on, now. Yamla (talk) 00:47, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'll also note that you violated WP:SOCK so many times, you may be considered de facto banned under WP:3X. It's unclear to me if this is definitely the case here. WP:UNBAN covers how to get your ban lifted. The summary is that no admin is free to lift a ban, it can only be lifted by community consensus. --Yamla (talk) 00:52, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla is correct; with more than three checkuser-confirmed sockpuppets, this user is community banned from Wikipedia, and any unblock would require community consensus at the appropriate noticeboard. I have updated their userpage and the block accordingly. Yunshui  08:16, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|reason=How is this justified though? My last edit on this account was back in October 2018. Since then on my new accounts, none of my edits have been destructive of any articles. How can I be punished for attempting to positively edit articles?}}

As that was manifestly not a request to be unblocked, let alone a request appropriate under WP:UNBAN, I have "nowiki"ed it. As to how your ban is appropriate, please see WP:3X. Note, though, that the fact that you question this at all will count substantially against any further request. Note also that any further abuse of the unblock template will result in losing your talk page access here. Please make very, very, very sure you have read and thoroughly understand WP:3X, WP:CBAN, WP:SOCK, WP:EVADE, and WP:GAB before editing further. You have very little room here and are in danger of having talk page access revoked. I want to be clear, you are welcome to draft up a request to the community to have your ban lifted but we'll need to see an almost complete and definitely an immediate reversal of your approach to Wikipedia for this to be anything other than a complete waste of time. --Yamla (talk) 18:57, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla I can't seem to create a new discussion on the community page though, any guidance on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woking123 (talkcontribs)
