If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fen (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Fen[edit]

Hi. Please use Wikipedia style for adding citations, references, sources. Read Footnotes and Citing sources. If I can, I will help to improve Fen article. Zheek (talk) 17:38, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Zheek - I will take a look and get the styling right in the future. With the band members and years I have pulled this from CD listings.

Pythia (band)[edit]

Sorry for delay in replying - I will get to it tomorrow, definitely! JohnCD (talk) 21:55, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks John - any advice much appreciated! Willzuk (talk) 16:29, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am not terribly convinced, but there is no harm trying again. 18 months have gone by since the AfD, and maybe they have achieved more. Press coverage certainly helps; having toured with others or having someone notable design a record cover doesn't (notability is not infectious), The basic standard an article will be measured against is WP:BAND.

If you like, I will "userfy" the article for you - undelete it into a page in your user space where you can work on it. Unless I find the result very convincing, what I would probably do is send it to WP:Deletion review for some other opinions, or maybe just re-list it for another AfD discussion.

You can reply below here - I will watch this talk page. Apolgies, again, for my delay in replying. JohnCD (talk) 22:17, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks John - that sounds like a good plan and worth a try! Would that then appear in my sandbox for a while and then once I'm happy with it I'd get back in touch with you? I think it's worth a try and thanks for suggesting!

Willzuk (talk) 05:25, 14 October 2014 (UTC) Looking around I've found an aggregation of press clippings on the band that I think will help too (I just need some issue numbers and dates to cite them!) http://s149.photobucket.com/user/babyoatcake/library/Pythia%20Press%20Clippings?sort=6&page=1 Thanks again and I look forward to giving this a go, can't hurt to try! Willzuk (talk) 19:33, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done - it's at User:Willzuk/Pythia (band). JohnCD (talk) 21:27, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks John. I have been making updates and adding references to show the breadth of the coverage they have had. I would hope that the first point they are measured against (i.e. the subject of multiple non trival works) will be passed as they have appeared in all of the major UK metal press magazines with interviews, album and live reviews. Some of which I have been collecting in a press section on the page, although sadly what is listed so far is just a subset and I'm lacking some reference details for these, but it does cover Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Kerrang and Classic Rock. Through to the last point that they have been the special guests on Bruce Dickinson's (of Iron Maiden) BBC Radio show, and I have added a reference to the BBC for that. I could continue to find press references however I'm conscious that the reference list would become massive. What is the best way forward,if you are able to take a quick look at how it looks that would be great. Many thanks. Willzuk (talk) 20:02, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have tied this up a bit today - there will be more press in terms of live show reviews, but I'm not sure how many it needs (and it would take time to find the details, probably without adding much value to the informational content as that could be just about notability at that point). Do I hit the send draft for review at this stage? Willzuk (talk) 18:06, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kudos (scholarly reputation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
