Proposed deletion of Chat Hour[edit]

The article Chat Hour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:WEB with no secondary sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A secondary source is a source (like a newspaper or a book) writing about Chat Hour. As an archive copy of the Chat Hour website, the Wayback Machine page is just as much a primary source as the Chat Hour website itself. Take a look at WP:PSTS for guidance on what sort of sources a Wikipedia article needs, and more importantly WP:WEBCRIT for the type of coverage a website needs to have had, in order to merit an entry in Wikipedia. --McGeddon (talk) 10:19, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:WEBCRIT is simple enough and not "subjective" at all: has the website been "the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself", or has it won a significant award? If it has, mention the award or add links to a couple of those independent works. If it hasn't, then the website isn't yet a suitable subject for Wikipedia.

If you object to the proposed deletion you're welcome to - as the template itself says - just remove the template. (Although if you do that without demonstrating that the website meets WEBCRIT, I or someone else will probably put the article up for a wider deletion discussion.) --McGeddon (talk) 11:05, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
