Choose the best of his works, and use a catalogue for the rest as a reference to them. His works themselves are almost never useful as references.

Let me try to explain. If they manufactured vacuum cleaners, the cleaners would be their work. A vacuum cleaner could not be a reference for them, simply because it is the product they make. So it is with research, writings, etc. However, a review of their work by others tends to be a review of them and their methods, so is a reference.

This means a list of his works is interesting, but almost always irrelevant. Does (eg) Worldcat hold a directory of his works? With exhibitions, choose the big guns.

References to self saved pdfs are useless. Instead cite the place they appeared using one of the {{Cite}} family of templates

At the moment I can't see the notability form the things that do not enhance a Wikipedia article.

This is an example of why Wikipedia is so entirely dependent on published reportage about a person. When we humble Wikipedia editors go hunting around for references to support assertions that are not easily found in the published sources, we go beyond what we should be doing. If you don't have a reliable published source for a fact (particular when dealing with biographies of living people), simply leave that information out. The party line is that if nobody reported that fact, it is not noteworthy. It seems that he's much more commonly referred to as plain David Zimmerman.
