Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Venerock! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

re: your message[edit]

Hi Venerock, I've left a reply to your message on my talk page -- Marek.69 talk 16:34, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please Add Edit Summary to your edits[edit]

You recently made changes to one or more articles but you kept the Edit summary field empty. While it is not mandatory, it is very helpful to place a short and descriptive summary of changes made in your revision. For guidelines how to use this field, please read this Help page. By adding an edit summary, you allow other users to more easily identify constructive edits on the Recent Changes page, their Watchlist (see this page), or the articles edit history.

Please don't take this comment as negative remarks on your contributions!!

Please feel free to contact me via email or my talk page. Many thanks for your time. Tonkie67 12:50, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits?[edit]

And be aware that all your contributions are marked as Minor, even when you make relative large changes to a page. Maybe you have the Mark all my edits as minor set to TRUE in your Preferences settings. JanT (talk) 23:48, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Behaviour[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Iberian Union. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The Ogre (talk) 16:36, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish articles[edit]

Hey! I see you like to revert my edit formats... as you could see I am exerting a big effort in improving and standardizing articles about Spanish history, cities and monuments lately. Teh fact you revert my edits to very poorly-formatted, poorly written versions you may like (but mostl likely others won't) is not so good: an examples is Caceres, Spain, where you reverted to a version in which all images are placed casually and other errors are present. Give a check to WP:Manual of Style and let me know! hope we can collaborate constructively as I've noticed Spanish articles are mostly in poor state here, don't know why. Ciao and good work!! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 13:26, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of losing time in pointlessly restoring my format changes to poorer previous ones, I propose you a collaboration to bring such an important article like Abd ar-Rahman III to the good status in the Spanish one es:Abderramán III. Ola and let me know! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 13:43, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've just noticed also Córdoba has a very mediocre quality. Let me know if you're interested. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 13:50, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do not blank redirects[edit]

I've reverted your blanking of a redirect as inappropriate. If you wish it to be deleted, nominate it at WP:RfD. Please do not restore your blanking as it will be deemed vandalism (and also a case of edit warring). Thank you. B.Wind (talk) 02:51, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Getafe[edit]

Hi Venerock --

I just noticed that you went through and changed the sizes of images in the Getafe article. (Ex. 350px → 300px, 250px → 230px, 200px → 190px, &tc.) Why did you do this? I'm just curious, since I put most of those images into the article in the first place, and was wondering if maybe I missed something in the manual of style.

Cheers! -- Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû 23:22, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK Cool, that makes sense. It's hard for me to keep track of what I add and what others add. ;) I did most of the expanding of Getafe from stub to something-that-is-not-stub, so I like to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info. --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû 23:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On Aragon arms[edit]

Hi Venerock! About this edit I think there is a misunderstanding here. Of course, I know that the Kingdom of Valencia belonged to the Crown of Aragon when the Llotja de la Seda was built, and certainly the Valencian Community did not exist at that time. Therefore, I think that the coat of arms should be described either as that of the Kingdom of Valencia or, in a more informative way, as showing the royal arms of Aragon shared by all the territories in the Crown of Aragon. Otherwise the text could be suffering from presentism as a form of anachronism, right? Cheers! --Carles Noguera (talk) 21:29, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why the undo to my edits to Salamanca[edit]

I feel there is a lot of work there, and most of it reasonable good, to undo all the changes in one go, especially without a reason. I don't want to re-do my contributions withouth asking first. TY Knights who say ni (talk) 22:22, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Files storage[edit]

Hello, Venerock.

In Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, social networking, or memorial site is said literally "Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files". Following these politics, it's inadmissible to add file galleries and they have to do including a link to Wikimedia Commons.

Thanks, bye. Sonsaz (talk) 16:10, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sonsaz!
there so many "big cities" with galleries around the wikipedia.. i invite you to check the city of Brugges article with its enormous panoramas, for example like others..
the gallery are importants cause a historical city have much old sights, that no one can be more important than other to be in the article, is imprtant too cuz the people meet the arquitecture of the sights and the city as such.
btw, thats not mean like you "literally" said.. thats mean that the article not have to be a propaganda, forum, or mention of other webpages. Cheers --Venerock (talk) 18:00, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alicante[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Alicante. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing.

  • Speaking about the content, let me raise a few questions. First, why do you put Main Sights section at the beginning of the article? An encyclopedia is not a travel guide. If you like to write travel guides, there is a wiki project devoted specifically to that. For composition of an article about a city, please take a look at this guidelines. Is there any reason not to follow these guidelines for Alicante?
  • Second, why do you assign image sizes to each and every image? There should be a clear reason to put a particular size instead of the default. The article looks misbalanced when you put a variety of different image sizes (210px, 205px, 200px, 227px, and 220px) within one article. What is the logic to specify these particular numbers? If you don’t like the default size (180px), you can adjust the default for yourself in the options of your Wikipedia account.
  • Third and this is a minor point, why do you put a low quality panoramic photo in the article? Everyone can see that the horizon is not horizontal in the photo. I understand that this is the only panoramic photo of Alicante available in Wikicommons, but there are already 15 photos in the article, which is more than adequate. For example, there are no panoramic photos in New York or London articles, and for Paris there is a really nice one. Again, this is a minor issue. The first two points are more significant.

Let's discuss the mentioned issues at Alicante talk page. Best, Etnacila (talk) 21:26, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For history section, historical photos are beneficial. Santa Barbara Castle is indeed the main sight, but let's not overload the article with similar photos of the castle from about the same point. You may remove any comments from your talk page, including warnings once you read them. Etnacila (talk) 11:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The photo (to the right) pictures Posteguet beach, not San Juan beach. The photo is far from been good, but if you insist I don't mind keeping it for the moment until someone can come up with something better. Etnacila (talk) 12:01, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spain[edit]

No. El "History of Spain" in el articulo "Spain" ha crecido demasiado y no me gusta que pongais mas detalles, images, o mapas que ya se puede ver in el articulo del imperio, etc - es solo un introducion a la historia, nada mas. Hasta luego.Provocateur (talk)

File copyright problem with File:Premioespañolvenerock.PNG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Premioespañolvenerock.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 09:42, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering if you'd mind if we removed the pic you added to the pottok page. The purebreds are described as dark to bay and I don't think we should overdo the number pictures of cross-breds on the page. I'm also not entirely sure if the picture actually shows pottok - I know the file description says so, but when we cleaned the page we found it's a common problem for people seeing a horse in the Basque Country and assuming it's a pottok. Confusion is particularly rife with the Basque Mountain Pony (not the same breed). Akerbeltz (talk) 02:06, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish horses[edit]

Hi Venerock, saw your work. Be sure to review List of horse breeds and Iberian horse to be sure we don't already have articles on some of the breeds you are listing on the template. I'm also not sure a navigation template is the way to go here, we may want to instead cross-reference to the Iberian horse overview (like we do at warmblood) and modify that article into more of a list. But at any rate, we at WPEQ are glad to help you out! Montanabw(talk) 05:48, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'll take off the "in progress" tag as you request, but I think you should have another look at the second sentence of the second paragraph about "predatory groups" etc. (hunting parties?) as I don't think it is easy to understand.--Alan (talk) 08:44, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind words. It's an interesting subject - I´m glad you have been expanding the article. --Alan (talk) 17:05, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move of Pincho[edit]

I can't understand why Pincho has been moved to Pintxo. Even though Basques are very proud of this tradition, there are no reasons to link it particularly to the Basque Country, and the word itself is obviously Spanish! --Jotamar (talk) 16:45, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

Hi No need to apologize for your knowledge of English. You are doing a great job. I noted Google translation not against you, just for the records of the article. I don't want the articles you created to be deleted because they meet an obscure criteria for speedy deletion. Keep on with the good work! --Alberto Fernandez Fernandez (talk) 11:17, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Venerock, I have been looking at some of your many articles. Dios mio, you have been busy. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vvven, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Notice

The article Villanuco de Las Encartaciones has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable, only source cited not RS and no other sources could be found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for your contributions to Los Picaos de San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has too many problems of language or grammar and WP:IAR draftification, this article is half gibberish in some sections. . I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 07:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Venerock

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Velella, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Los Picaos de San Vicente de la Sonsierra, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Velella}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
