Chemistry articles[edit]

Dear talk:Valeg96: Welcome to Wikipedia. Looks like you enjoy editing chemistry articles. I amended some of your recent work because I figured you might not be so familiar with our guidelines. The main guidelines are WP:NOTMANUAL and WP:SECONDARY. These mean, respectively, that we do not give procedural tips and that we rely on books and reviews for most references. I confess to being skeptical about the usefulness of methods from a 1949 lab manual, but it is a nifty source in some respects. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. --Smokefoot (talk) 22:46, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the content you added was welcome. Characteristic of Wikipedia, virtually anyone's contributions would be trimmed or amended, so dont be bothered by the fact that we have a lot of guidelines. Speaking as a chemist, routes to common compounds seem pretty central. It's just that the content is not supposed to sound like a textbook or a how-to manual. Happy editing. --Smokefoot (talk) 13:04, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
