Speedy deletion of Ivana Kuzmanović

A tag has been placed on Ivana Kuzmanović requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:16, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Ivana Kuzmanović, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Tad Lincoln (talk) 23:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Angela Tiger.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Fair use rationale for File:Sookie_(TB).jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sookie_(TB).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? PhilKnight (talk) 10:48, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Page renaming

I have restored the two pages, Extensive farming and Intensive farming to their original names. These terms are in common use, changing the article titles is controversial, and requires more justification than an edit summary. If you wish to proceed with the renaming, please discuss your justifications for the move on each of the article talk pages, and hold off on the move until a consensus is reached on the talk pages. Hello! I've declined your A7 nomination of this article, as holding the title of "countess" is a credible claim of significance- this is a much lower standard than notability. But, date of bird is very significant for article; how do we threat articles about persons that not supplies date of birth information? Aleksa Lukic (talk) 11:54, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
We have almost 10,000 articles in Category:Year of birth missing- lacking a year of birth is not a grounds for speedy deletion, merely a sign that Wikipedia is a work in progress. Bradjamesbrown (talk) 11:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Gianni Giadresco

Hello Aleksa Lukic. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Gianni Giadresco, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: non-English pages can only be deleted under A2 if a link to the article at another project is provided. Thank you. Ale_Jrbtalk 11:57, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Hm, this is English Wikipedia. What is the point if we let non-english articles to stay. Does exist a db template for non English material? --Aleksa Lukic (talk) 11:59, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Non translated articles cannot stay forever here. Until when we can keep that article? --Aleksa Lukic (talk) 12:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Hey. Non-English articles are not valid for speedy deletion under any of our criteria, unless they are a copy of an article that exists at another language Wikipedia. As I have tagged the page, we have a Wikiproject where editors devote time to translating articles from other languages into English. If this isn't done in two weeks, then it can be deleted. We don't want to delete potentially valuable information, just because it isn't in English - we want to get in into English instead! Hope that helps. Ale_Jrbtalk 12:06, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Since the festival only has coverage in the township of West Branch, Michigan, it certainly does not (yet) merit an independent article. But as that township is the one place where it does have coverage, I've added a sourced paragraph to the West Branch article to specifically deal with that town's film festival.[3] See West Branch, Michigan#Film Festival. Might you now support a redirect? Regards, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 19:55, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, your signature in this comment contained an image, which I'm afraid is expressly forbidden by policy. The reasons why are explained at WP:SIG#Images, but the next section down explains possible alternatives. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:52, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

I came here for the same issue, so I second HJ's comment. —DoRD (talk) 19:02, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I really didn't know it. I'll certainly be more careful in the future about things as such. For exp on Serbian Wikipedia user Maduixa always underwrites using an image (see). Although I comes from there (I have first been on Sr. when I first met with Wikipedia), I bring many things from there that are unallowed in here... Anyway, thanks for information! Alex discussion 13:44, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Heh, I hate to point it out but a <font size=5> isn't particularly well received either. :) Amalthea 14:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
There writes "avoid", so I do not have to use font number "3" - it will look like this: Alex - it is more difficult to see the name. Font that is used in "Freestyle Script" originally has a little smaller words in a same font size used in fexp. Arial and other fonts. Alex discussion 14:23, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
It's impossible to give strict rules since fonts and context differ. For example, many users won't have the font you chose. I, for one, don't, so here's how it looks for me. My signature renders with 11px height, yours with 19px – almost twice as high.
The base formatting guidelines are: Don't make your signature overly affect line height, and don't make your signature draw too much attention. At the moment, I think your signature does not follow those guidelines, at least not for many users.
This following would work, and is not hard to read: Alex discussion 14:23, 21 June 2010 (UTC) The readability could be improved by increasing the contrast between font color and background color.
Amalthea 15:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
But font size: 4 or 3,5 px may be OK? Alex discussion 15:29, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Font size 3 is ok for me here, 4 should also be acceptable but it already increases the line height and thus goes against the spirit of WP:SIG. Fractions do not work in the size attribute, and the "px" is superfluous since you don't specify pixels, it will usually be ignored but best to leave it out. Amalthea 15:47, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you. I have reverted you edits on 2011 Australian Open as it is consensus that his name is written in English and not Serbian, as we do not have Serbian characters on our keyboards. Your contributed article, Different between plants and animals

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Different between plants and animals. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Plant. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Plant - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. andy (talk) 15:05, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Samuel Fraunces

You recently cautioned 71.58.75.28 about disruptive editing on Thomas Hickey (soldier). I left the below message on Talk:Samuel Fraunces.

GramereC / 71.58.75.28, Please stop your disruptive editing.
1. No one is interested in your fantasies about the portraits. That's why I moved them to the bottom. Note, I did not erase them.
2. You have repeatedly blanked the "Ethnic Identity" section. People ARE interested in what Fraunces Tavern Museum has to say about Fraunces's ethnic identity. The statement from the museum's Website is a summary of its findings based on decades of examining the issue.
3. You have repeatedly blanked the "Presidential Household" section. People ARE interested in Fraunces's service in George Washington's presidential households.
4. You have repeatedly blanked the "See Also" section. This links to information about Fraunces and the enslaved Africans who worked under him.
5. You have been cautioned about disruptive editing elsewhere.[4] You have made more than 100 edits on the Samuel Fraunces article in the past 3 weeks. And your intolerance of the opinions/contributions of others, your introduction of fantasies presented as facts, and your imperious blanking of whole sections of information is the DEFINITION of disruptive editing.
6. I am sending copies of this message to the BOT who cautioned you, and those who reverted your blanking of others' work.
Someone else (above) urged you to go back to your own Website, where you can write whatever you want. I concur. 173.59.124.196 (talk) 00:05, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Mehdi mahdloo

Hello Aleksa Lukic. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Mehdi mahdloo, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a test page. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 13:22, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

It is semi-bold, and unwikied. Alex discussion 13:24, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
And unsourced, too. Alex discussion 13:25, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
That's all true, and it makes some fairly improbable claims as well, but none of those are reasons for speedy deletion. WP:CSD#G2 is for pages where it's clear the author didn't actually mean to make an encyclopedia article, and that's not the case here. The thing to do with this (which I have done) is tag it with {{unreferenced}} and {{hoax}} and ask the author for sources, telling him about WP:V. It could have been given a WP:BLPPROD tag, as an unsourced BLP, but I looked in IMDb and the guy does exist so it would be easy to provide a basic reference. I shall do a bit more checking and then probably PROD or AfD if it is clear that the exaggerated claims are false. Although he exists, it doesn't seem the guy is notable; if he was, one could cut the article back to a verifiable stub.
I was meaning to give you a word about another recent tag, on that talk page which was an advert for a sex shop: while the message you used about talk pages not being a forum for general discussion is normally right, the WP:Articles for creation system involves the draft article being put on a talk page (for some reason I don't understand), and this was one of those. I replaced your message to the author IP with one that just said WP was not for advertising.
There is good advice for speedy taggers at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Keep at it: New Page Patrol is one of the most important activities on Wikipedia.
PS - I see you've given it a BLP-Prod - quite right, despite what I said above. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 13:50, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
I was meaning his promotion of sex shop is appropriate for one forum, not for (even) talk page in the encyclopedia. Alex discussion 13:52, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, I understand. I deleted it per WP:CSD#G11 anyway. JohnCD (talk) 13:55, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

NTC Libya article

Hi, as your move of the NTC article is controversial, please follow WP:BRD and for controversial moves follow WP:RM. As another editor has reverted your move, it is controversial, and further article moves may see one getting blocked for edit warring, and this should be avoided by all editors. Let me know if I can be of any help. --Russavia Let's dialogue 20:14, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello, regardless there is only one article named National Transitional Council, it is not correct at all to not leave a space for other National Transitional Councils of other states. I am currently working on an article about Congo's National Transitional Council, and in immediate future, there'll have to be both separated articles: National Transitional Council (Libya) and National Transitional Council (Congo), as for correctness however. I hope you understand intention of my actions. Alex discussion 20:40, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Heya, I have no doubt to question your intentions. It is great to see that you are working on the Congolese council. You will still have to do this via WP:RM, as consensus among editors could possibly see the Libyan article staying at National Transitional Council, with a note at the top of the article redirecting editors to the Congolese article. Take a look at how this occurs at the top of Dmitry Medvedev, with the note on the Hero of Russia. Or there may be other NTCs that have articles created on them, whereby National Transitional Council (disambiguation) could become necessary. It all depends on whether consensus among editors is that the Libyan NTC is the primary topic for National Transitional Council or not. It just requires discussion is all, k? :) --Russavia Let's dialogue 21:21, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, let's discus then! :) Alex discussion 21:25, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
