Do you have a link to the discussion for your recent page move ("per talk page")? I can't seem to find any history at either Talk:Nessie or Talk:Nessie (disambiguation), and the move itself seems a little counter-intuitive to me. Regards, DeLarge (talk) 17:35, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The diff is actually this one, but it's a deleted edit. I guess I was looking at something else when I typed in my move reason. It was actually moved because of the reason given in that deleted edit: "duplicate (also, the current page is much less extensive)". The previous contents of the page was:
The move doesn't seem counter-intuitive to me. Useight (talk) 22:40, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ahhh, that explains a lot.

I created the dab page at Nessie (disambiguation) back in March 2007, and at that time Nessie was a redirect to the Loch Ness Monster, which I thought was perfectly sensible. At some point in between someone’s had the bright idea to create a second disambiguation page. I never had Nessie on my watchlist, hence never noticed when it happened.

My own opinion is that the monster is by far the primary use of the term, hence why I thought it "counter-intuitive" – I thought you’d over-written the redirect. Would you be ok to restore it to Nessie (disambiguation) and recreate the redirect as an uncontroversial move, or would you be happier if I throw this open to WP:RM for confirmation? Regards, ‘’--DeLarge (talk) 15:51, 16 April 2010 (UTC)’’[reply]

Yeah, that scenario seems to be the most sensible. I have moved the disambig to Nessie (disambiguation) and recreated Nessie as a redirect to Loch Ness Monster. I also added a "see also" to the article directing to the disambig page, just in case. Useight (talk) 21:35, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry![edit]

Hey, thanks for the change back. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, it won't happen again. Cheers! The Arbiter 00:53, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. That's what I'm here for. Useight (talk) 04:20, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could you restore User talk:The Arbiter/Abox for me, please? When the crazy rename happened, I think it got deleted accidentally. Thanks! The Arbiter 00:07, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored User talk:Dr. Rhino/Abox. I think that's the one you wanted, the page you linked was just a redirect to User talk:The Arbiter (usurped2)/Abox, which was a redirect to User talk:Dr. Rhino/Abox. I then moved the Dr. Rhino version to the The Arbiter location. Let me know if I restored the wrong page. Useight (talk) 00:16, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! Could you also restore user talk:The Arbiter/Archives/October 2009? —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Arbiter (talkcontribs)

WikiCup 2010 April newsletter[edit]

Round two is over, and we are down to our final 32. For anyone interested in the final standings (though not arranged by group) this page has been compiled. Congratulations to Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to Colombia ThinkBlue (submissions) and Norway Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.

Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Bavaria Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiProject Harry Potter: Evanna Lynch[edit]

WikiProject Harry Potter has been rather inactive recently. I've been working on the Evanna Lynch article lately, and have based it off the featured article Emma Watson. I thought I'd ask if you would like to collaborate on the article, as part of a possible WikiProject revival. Leave your response at the article's talk page. Thanks! Alex Douglas (talk) 11:35, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replied there. Useight (talk) 14:59, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could I have your comment on this question please. Thanks! Alex Douglas (talk) 14:31, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"What administrative work do you intend to take part in"[edit]

...is fine IMO. "The rule which forbids ending a sentence with a preposition is the kind of nonsense up with which I will not put", as Churchill famously said. "Which" instead of "What" would have been better not long ago, but the grammarians have lost that one, too. (Watching) - Dank (push to talk) 18:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm fine with it too, but I figured as long as we were discussing the wording, I'd bring up the potential grammatical improvement. Useight (talk) 21:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Utah meetup this next weekend[edit]

Some of us are going to try to meetup at the CONduit art show this coming weekend (May 28-30). You are welcome to to come and meetup any time, though we can discuss a specific time here. You can see a great art show, too! ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 02:56, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

*waves*[edit]

I'm sure everyone would be fine with you keeping the bits while you're gone (well, I should never say everyone :)). You'll have a few hours to consider I'm sure. I think that #8 on your list might slow you down a bit, but with practice, perfection is approached. Cheers, Prodego talk 07:04, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Worthwhile goals on your userpage. I wish you well and you're always welcome back. The neatest wiki farewell I've seen.RlevseTalk 09:51, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was pleasantly surprised to see me on your list of users who have shaped your experience here (and humbled). I wish you well, and look forward to seeing you again, when you either can't stay away any longer (!) or when you have completed your list. Either way, I agree with Rlevse: a neat wiki farewell -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 15:38, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I found it quite interesting how many of the names I recognized... I agree with Rlevse, this is definitely the coolest farewell I've had the privilege of reading. Good luck! =) ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 16:29, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ya know . . .[edit]

. . . not for nothin', I removed you from WP:MIA and was quickly reverted because, in your case, you really, really meant it. I am glad you're still lurking about on some level, and I won't try to remove you from the list again, but for the record, you ain't gone!--~TPW 00:55, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. MBisanz talk 02:28, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spoken article tag removed[edit]

As you seem to be (semi-)retired, I've removed your Spoken Wikipedia In Progress tag from Talk:Pokémon. I've also removed the request tag itself, as I don't think these are the kind of articles we need audio recordings of. Articles with further development, especially featured ones, are much more suitable for that. Cheers, theFace 11:23, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Five months ago I began working on Evanna Lynch and last week it was listed as a good article. I've recently requested a peer review recently to find out what needs fixing before it is ready for WP:FAC. And so, if you're offer still stands could you please take a look at the article —"proofread and edit at the micro level"—so it is ready for WP:FAC? Thanks!
