Reverting my edits[edit]

Looks like you reverted my edits here with no explanation. Was there a reason for that, or was it an accident? --McGeddon (talk) 14:28, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you're going to revert my edits without discussing them or even explaining why, after being asked, I'll have to assume that it's either unintentional or vandalism, and revert it back. Please use an WP:EDITSUMMARY, at the very least. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 14:38, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can check the page's history to see what edits other people have made, and the reasons they gave for them. Which parts do you think "repeat" and "make no sense"? --McGeddon (talk) 15:08, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest check[edit]

Given that the article has had conflict of interest issues in the past, can I ask if you have any personal or professional connection to Mccreedy? --McGeddon (talk) 07:58, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you've been "tasked to factually update the wikipedia pages of prominant South African artists", why are you not editing any other articles?
I removed the painting resale sentence by mistake when cleaning up the article, I've added it back in the relevant section. I cut "He is internationally renowned and is reportedly the highest priced artist under the age of 30 to date." because the first half of the sentence is what Wikipedia calls a WP:PEACOCK phrase, and the latter didn't seem to be supported by either of the sources given. --McGeddon (talk) 08:23, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the issues on the article have included McCreedy apparently not being "GQ South Africa's best dressed man of 2012" as claimed, and "the highest priced artist under the age of 30" having no source to back it up, I think we're better off starting from the current version than yesterday's. By all means update the article to correct it or provide sources for material that I have removed, or raise any disagreements on the talk page.

You can click the "history" tab to see what has actually been changed - I haven't been reverting all of your additions, the line about an art dealer refusing a resale offer is still there. Remember that Wikipedia is edited collaboratively. --McGeddon (talk) 09:48, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:26, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rusty69t, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

June 2014[edit]

Please stop your disruptive behaviour. Your behaviour is verging on harassment. Wikipedia prides itself on providing a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing edits, such as the one you made to User talk:McGeddon, potentially compromise that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 07:24, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear King of Heart, McGeddon should be the person who is blocked, he is exactly the kind of person Wikipeadia doesn't need. He portrays himself as some kind of moral high ground but his edits are more vandalism that anything productive. He flexes his technical muscle making it impossible for anyone to make any useful contributions, he is an internet Troll. I don't care that i am blocked, i am not interested in continuing on Wikipedia, he has disillusioned me like so many others from even being involved in Wikipedia. If you know what's good for Wikipedia get rid of the Troll McGeddon Thandi moyo (talk) 07:38, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

No need to unblock, as editor is "not interested in continuing on Wikipedia" anyway. Rest of the rant/accusations/name-calling for others' behavior is off-topic. DMacks (talk) 07:56, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

File permission problem with File:Protecting African Lions PAL Logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Protecting African Lions PAL Logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:26, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

July 2014[edit]

Please stop your disruptive behaviour. Your behaviour is verging on harassment. Wikipedia prides itself on providing a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing edits potentially compromise that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. You have previously been both warned and blocked for harassing User:McGeddon, but still persist, making mass-reverts of edits by them today. So stop, or you will undoubtedly be blocked again.
