"Mr. Sandman" - Chordettes - Discogs & 45cat

So, as I asked in the comments, what is the preferred discographical resource to use here? There are countless albums and singles that are not even acknowledged by AllMusic. Both Discogs and 45cat have far more accurate and complete data regarding discographies. 45cat will not allow any data to be included that isn't clearly stated on attached disc label images. I rarely find inaccurate listings there. Would sincerely welcome any insights of yours regarding this. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Visticaffairs (talkcontribs) 03:30, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

@Visticaffairs: I understand what you are saying completely. I use those sites as well, for personal research, and have even bought albums through Discogs. There was nothing wrong with the addition, stating that it was released "on both 78 RPM and 45 RPM formats". The problem is simply that the sites themselves cannot be used as sources. That being said, as published material, the records themselves can be used as sources, as can album liner notes. Overall, the best source I have found, which can be used on Wikipedia, is the archive of historical issues of Billboard.--Tdl1060 (talk) 17:38, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
