Citation policy[edit]

Hi Strike, I am afraid the personal memory of an author does not qualify as a citable source for Wikipedia articles, at least if the author is a regular person and not a trusted and well known contemporary witness. In this case, a reference could be along the lines "Joe Strummer told in an interview with the BBC on August 3rd 1998 that .....". But if it is along the lines of "I, Joe Average, remember well that..." it's not quite a reference. If you really want to go into this, then find a proper source. If you have been there, you might recall a newspaper article (they all get archived somewhere) or even documentation of a court trial to foster your point.
