MITB

I see you have stuck with trying to get MITB 11 to FA.--WillC 08:14, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

I may, I don't know. Just realized the WikiCup started so I guess that means I need to come back and write articles.--WillC 21:43, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
I stopped watching wrestling in general after Mania 30. Taker lost, I didn't care anymore. TNA hit hard times, I didn't see much hope. I keep up but not much.--WillC 04:14, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
I'm just not much into watching wrestling anymore. I find that most of the matches these days are meh. Maybe one good bout per show but not much more.--WillC 04:52, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Just 10 reigns in general is the starting point for break off. That was determined in an old WP:PW discussion and on FLC. But also determined was the lists aren't to be split off unless there is enough info for the main article to survive on its own.--WillC 00:11, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

You're Welcome.

</Your Intellectual Savior of the Masses>

Hey paint, hope you and yours are doing well. Someone released a kayfabe list of wrestling awards so I had to make an appearance. It's still 2012 where I am so no, that was not a dated reference. Not to worry; I'll be collecting cobwebs again shortly. :) Papacha (talk) 04:52, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

WON

I can confirm that those are accurate. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) (talk) 04:09, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Gamergate Revert

I just wanted to let you know that I reverted your recent change to the lede in the Gamergate Controversy article (pending acceptance). I think some rationale needs to be given for removing "and others" from the stated targets. I also tend to think that the following sentence, where you moved "death threats," was better structured before your edit (as threats of a mass shooting could be considered an extreme form of a death threat). If you think your edit should stand, please feel free to talk to me here, or on the article talk page. Thanks! AtomsOrSystems (talk) 08:20, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

  • AtomsOrSystems - thanks for dropping by on my talk page. Upon reflection I will not be pursuing the edit further. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 03:34, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Additional Comment on Alternate Wording

Sorry to clog up your talk page, but I just wanted to add that I didn't mean to come across as saying I thought you needed to wait some amount of time for other comment; you should of course make the edit whenever you feel appropriate. I don't necessarily see the need for the change that you do, but I'm not opposed to it. AtomsOrSystems (talk) 05:50, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

There are several ways I would change that wording, but I'm glad to see at least someone taking the matter seriously. We'll see where it leads. Rhoark (talk) 07:15, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:38, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Since you were listed on the nomination form and contributed so much to the actual article, you should have gotten one of these last July. Thanks for bringing this to my attention; I'm posting the acknowledgement now, along with this apology on behalf of DYK for the very belated message. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:54, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

quick note

Did not mean to delete your talk page contribution in trying to remove the offensive BLP material. I see you readded it, I was about to do so. --MASEM (t) 01:44, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Requested move

Hi there. Sorry about that, your update must have snuck in just as I cleared the section. Cheers,  Philg88 talk 10:04, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Edited "Brass Ring Club"

No need for deleting this page as I've worked tremendously hard on it. I've edited the Adam Rose parts and listed him as a former member. If you need further information, please reply to this message. Also, feel free to EDIT my page if you feel obligated to. I'm a new user and not so experienced with citations, it would mean a lot to me if you helped the page out with edits. Thank you for your notice.

R Evolution

Which part of WP:NOTBROKE applies? I thought we always had to fix double-redirects, thought there were even bots that went around auto-correcting them. I'm all for tagging both R Evolution and NXT TakeOver: R Evolution as "redirects with possibilities" though. I think if Arrival gets its own page the others should too but don't know how to fight for that :) Ranze (talk) 23:53, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Pretty sure that example refers to links on actual pages, not links on redirect pages. Ranze (talk) 08:49, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

I understand, but I have a proposal.

Okay, I'm here to make a proposal. I'm almost certain that Tyson Kidd and Cesaro are going to face The Usos for the tag titles at Fast Lane. Fast Lane is only two weeks away exactly. If they do win the titles at Fast Lane, I get to keep my page. But, if they don't win the titles, I'll delete this page. Brass Ring Club may not be the official name but that's what they were going with and I even edited out Adam Rose from the current members section.

It seems like the only fair way to get through this problem. Also, you can edit my page ANYTIME you want to. Hell, you can even put the needed sources in for me if you want to.

Will you accept my proposal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BurningGlass12 (talkcontribs) 23:21, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Seems Fair Enough

Okay, your option seems fair enough. I'll try to lock in the page so I can preserve it when it gets deleted, if they both win the titles and go to Mania, I'll restore it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BurningGlass12 (talkcontribs) 22:15, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Vjmlhds (talk) 20:31, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks @Vjmlhds:! I think I rescued a few articles in my first or second year here, but this is the first I've heard of this. But honestly, I didn't really do much. I didn't even edit the article page. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 03:57, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
    • Hey, you put your $0.02 in and helped to keep it from getting deleted. The ARS HOF has been around for awhile, and it's purpose is to give the proper kudos to those who make the effort to help save worthy articles...don't pooh-pooh your contribution. Your GA nomination of WrestleMania XXX

The article WrestleMania XXX you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:WrestleMania XXX for things which need to be addressed. Your GA nomination of WrestleMania XXX

The article WrestleMania XXX you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:WrestleMania XXX for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. BLP Issue

Re your reversion on the Sources page (I didn't see it up the top - thanks for that), it's to do with Buddy Murphy's real name. An IP claimed that ProFightDB is reliable on it's own talk page, and it claims that Matt Silva is Buddy Murphy's real name. There's no real proof of this, and in the respect of real names ProFightDB is NOT reliable, because I know for a fact they have Australian Suicide's real name wrong (he wrestles in AAA). ProFightDB gives his real name as Ryan Rollins. I know that guy personally and I can tell you that Ryan Rollins is NOT Australian Suicide's real name. So I'm keeping Matt Silva off the Buddy Murphy article as his real name until we have a reliable source. That's the BLP issue. Curse of Fenric (talk) 08:17, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Superman

Hi. I'll try. He says he is a IWA booker, but he never answer me any message, Spanish or English. I'll talk to him in both languajes. However, I don't think Reigns invented the variation. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:00, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, it should be the best. Follow the buzzards sources --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:31, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
I think after Fastlane, they're going to start calling them all "Dwyer punches". Superman is yesterday's news. A dude named Batman won in the curtain jerker that night, though. And then the boyhood dream came true for ten consecutive underdogs. InedibleHulk (talk) 12:02, February 23, 2015 (UTC)
  • Nah, Dwyer's just a skinny vanilla midget who has no pedigree. A nerd. Reigns is tanned, cousin of the Rock, and way more athletic - did you see the height of Reigns' superman punches? They should be calling them Roman punches. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 12:33, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
Roman punches are illegal. Can't win the belt on a DQ. InedibleHulk (talk) 13:37, February 23, 2015 (UTC)
Speaking of vanilla midgets, check out Lesnar vs Mysterio, if you haven't. It's ridiculous, but cool. InedibleHulk (talk) 13:43, February 23, 2015 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for the article, I'll read it. I'm working now, so I have less time to edit in Wikipedia. I hope you'll become a full time editor again. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:59, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Consider this a barnstar equivalent

Hi Starship.paint, I'd like to let you know that I appreciate your resolve at Template:Did you know nominations/Kido Witbooi. The reason I nominate my articles for DYK is that I want a second pair of eyes checking what I write. Yours is very sharp. The article Kido Witbooi has already improved quite a bit as a result of your input. Keep it up! --Pgallert (talk) 20:10, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

Late (no time for Wikipedia ), but thanks for the congratulations! And I also congratulate you for the Money in the Bank 2011 and WrestleMania 30 articles. What good would it have people like you in the pt.wiki... Pedrohoneto (talk) 23:17, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Edit Summaries

Don't forget those edit summaries! Having them there makes it easier to read page histories. Cheers! — Strongjam (talk) 13:37, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

  • @Strongjam: - sorry! I am lazy. Nobody's told me to do so for pro-wrestling articles. I'll remember to do so for the (contentious) GamerGate article. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 13:47, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

DYK nomination of WrestleMania XXX

1RR on GGC. Revert quick. The admins seem most unforgiving about that. ForbiddenRocky (talk) 01:44, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

I'll revert my edit myself for you. You're right it's redundant. ForbiddenRocky (talk) 01:46, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Meltzer on Reigns

He did say it. He was asked if there had ever been anyone in a WrestleMania main event less over than Roman Reigns. He gave a pretty long answer going over WWE making mistakes, mainly talking about bringing Daniel Bryan back early and then not putting him in a three-way to save it since the crowd is indifferent to Reigns and wouldn't be to Bryan and Lesnar. He then thinks about past Mania main events and the only thing that comes into his mind is the 2000 main event, but he states that Big Show back then was far more over than Reigns is now.

He ends it with: (from 57:27 onwards)

"There's never been someone [less over than Roman Reigns] in a WrestleMania main event, because there never could have been. Because the reality is that in any other situation if somebody was like this, if it was another situation, it was the old Vince. The old Vince would have recognized this and he would have made the right move in January, which he didn't make, and then he would have made the right move in February, which he didn't make. So that's the difference. No there has never been and they did make a mistake."

リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) #GG (talk) 15:59, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

No prob. I actually hadn't listened to that one, but it wasn't that hard to find, they usually spend quite a while talking about topics so I could just skip around and listen when I heard the word "Reigns". リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) #GG (talk) 14:30, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
1. No. I've noticed that before that sometimes they claim that a show is free, but you still can't access it without a subscription. Someone probably forgot to press a button somewhere. 2. it stands for lots of things. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) #GG (talk) 11:37, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

FYI about Forbes

This is a content issue so I won't get into at the WP:AE, but this is not a Forbes article. It's a Forbes.com contributor article. They're running a bit of a content farm (2,500+ writers) and the contributor posts are not fact checked or subject to editorial approval. It is very different the WaPo blogs, although better then a tumblr or other SPS. — Strongjam (talk) 13:13, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Relevant WP:RSN posts if you're interested. From 2013 and from 2014. — Strongjam (talk) 13:19, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
  • @Strongjam: - I read those discussions, thank you. I never meant that it was an article. I meant that it was more like a column or opinion piece. Or WP:NEWSBLOG, which I just discovered. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 01:57, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Cool. Just comes up a lot. I've got no problem on us citing it for Kain's opinion just not for matters of fact. I wish Forbes delineated them a bit more clearly. — Strongjam (talk) 02:02, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
