I was curious if those photo was by you. If this is your photo, could you possibly reupload it without the watermark attached? Watermarks are frowned upon on Wikipedia. Also, the use of the (C) symbol implies that the picture is not licensed in the same way that you uploaded it to Wikipedia under.

If the photo is not yours, then it will have to be removed because you do not have permission to use it here. The359 (talk) 09:18, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since it is your picture, any chance you'd consider re-uploading it without the watermark? —Mrand TalkC 18:53, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not until I understand how all this works. Stardust39 (talk) 18:39, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Image use policy describes Wikipedia's policies regarding images. Specifically, under User-created images, it states that images should not be watermarked or have credits on the photo themselves. Copyright information will be listed on the image description page. However, be aware that licensing a photo to Wikipedia allows it to be used by anyone else, so long as they credit you as the author. The359 (talk) 19:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citing sources[edit]

I noticed your edits at the Chevrolet Corvette article; I'm sorry the citation gave you a hard time. You were really close; you just needed to "wrap" the citation in XML-style ref tags, like this:

<ref>{{cite book
  | last = Leffingwell
  | first = Randy
  | authorlink =
  | title = Corvette Fifty Years
  | publisher = MBI Publishing Company
  | location = Saint Paul MN USA
  | date = 2002
  | page = 203
  | doi =
  | isbn = 0-7603-1180-3}}</ref>

so they can "magically" show up in the bottom of the page at "References". I added that citation back for you, but try to remember the ref tag for other citations you add. Good luck—that article needs a lot of citations! --an odd name 18:33, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for the help. Stardust39 (talk) 01:12, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

California dreamin'[edit]

Just caught your edit on The California Kid. Can you source the rear bumper mods? If so, you might have enough to start the page. Or you might be able to add here or here. And if you're interested in customs at all, Hirohata Merc would like you to see it. ;p TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 08:18, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:2014 Corvette Coupe, Cyber Gray, Right Front, Jan 17, 2013 Detroit Auto Show.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:2014 Corvette Coupe, Cyber Gray, Right Front, Jan 17, 2013 Detroit Auto Show.jpg, which you've sourced to http://palmeter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/2013-01-17-11.25.19w2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:05, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I knew that the issue of File:AmeliaGrandSports.JPG has been discussed before, however I still cannot know whether you are actually David W Palmeter. So it is better for you to send a permission statement in order to prove the copyright status of the file.廣九直通車 (talk) 09:58, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
