When animals travel one place to another, it is called migration. (Definition) mate means to pair with a male or female of the same species to make babies so the population of the species grows! Monarchs are found in the USA and the UK and Canada. Monarch butterflies are usually found in the USA and UK and Canada to and discovered in 1959 they are discovered by Thomas Emmel found 13 fawn colored butterflies in the highlands of Mexico.
Nearly 60 years later, those butterflies are finally being recognized as a new species by his college, Andrew Warren who named the butterflies Cyllopsis tomemmeli to honor Emmel, now 76 and an internally recognized Lepidoptera expert!
