Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Sandra celadon. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Steven Thrasher or elsewhere on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. To emphasize, any editing for pay must be disclosed as a requirement of the WMF terms of service. As your user name coincides with the publisher of a recent book by one of the entries you edited, I need to ask whether you are editing as a paid employee and if so, to please make the appropriate disclosures of who was paying and who the client was (please see the above links for more information). Thank you for your compliance with this policy. Innisfree987 (talk) 05:04, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. It appears all your edits are to pages of Celadon Books authors. I hope you can make any necessary disclosures as promptly as possible. Thank you. Innisfree987 (talk) 05:27, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Thank you for reaching out. I don't think we realized that it was a conflict of interest and against Wikipedia policies—apologies! What steps can be taken to rectify this error? I see solutions on how to handle it moving forward, but am unsure on if I should be editing all my past edits to clearly show that I had a COI while writing them. Sandra celadon (talk) 13:35, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for this quick reply! The instructions on disclosing paid edits (please add to your user page and the talk page of each edited article) can be found here: Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure#How to disclose. Innisfree987 (talk) 21:21, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you could also please check your notifications on the Wikimedia Commons, as I have a question about ensuring a photo you uploaded is compatibly licensed. Thank you. Innisfree987 (talk) 21:34, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will do! It might take me a little while to figure out how to properly do all of it, but I promise it'll be on my mind & I'll let my employers know that this is an issue. Sandra celadon (talk) 13:42, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, checking in as I see you have not made any specific disclosures yet. Sorry to have to lean on this but disclosing paid edits is not optional. Thank you for your prompt attention. Innisfree987 (talk) 06:09, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! So sorry—I've gone ahead and made a list on my talk page and have included the paid contribution in the talk page of every article I've edited thus far. I think I did it correctly. Thank you once again for being so helpful and patient with me! Sandra celadon (talk) 20:24, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for taking care of that! Innisfree987 (talk) 23:44, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
