@Amberrock: Well, I've attempted more copyediting and removal of the close paraphrasing. The debate itself is very difficult for me to summarize, and this country is not my forte (the articles are half in Tagalog, particularly the quotes). Please take a look. If I can't get the debate summary down I may want to call in an editor more familiar with the Philippines. Raymie (tc) 23:46, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

I thought you might want to see the XEEW-AM logo, since you commented when you created the XEEW-AM article that is was long overdue! It would seem that more people would have done this sooner.Rudy2alan 21:42, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

@Rudy2alan: Thanks for the suggestion. Quite a logo. By the way, I want your opinion on something. Some of the by-state navboxes are starting to get really unwieldy, like {{Sonora Radio}}. Might it be time to split out more cities/metro areas from these? Raymie (tc) 21:51, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
For sure, it would be great if navboxes like Sonora were split into individual cities; it would definitely make for easier reading.Rudy2alan 22:29, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
@Rudy2alan: I have yet to tackle Veracruz which will need at least three or four splits, but I did just do splits of five cities: Saltillo, Morelia, Ciudad Obregón, Hermosillo and Culiacán. That should reduce the load on a few of those templates (Sinaloa was getting large too). Would you mind changing over the template transclusions on the articles they link to (except Saltillo)? The exception is if it is a state radio network — say, Radio Sonora — and needs to link to other navboxes. Raymie (tc) 00:02, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
I also have done four Veracruz markets: Coatzacoalcos, Poza Rica, Veracruz itself (Template:Heroica Veracruz Radio) and Xalapa. If you do those changeouts, those should be included as well. Raymie (tc) 03:49, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
I have also done Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. That's 11 splits and should be enough for now. When new stations are licensed (there's a major auction coming up this year) I expect to be performing further splits in states like Chiapas, Guanajuato (which has not been split yet), Michoacán, Sonora and Veracruz. Raymie (tc) 17:10, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Changing over template transclusions

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I do not know how to do that - "changing over the template transclusions" sounds pretty Greek to me. You (and many other people on Wikipedia) are obviously much more computer literate than I. I've learned a lot in the last few years - and was quite proud when I learned to upload (logo) files. I want to learn more, and if it's not too complicated I would like to know how to do template transclusions. Believe it or not, I think you are the one who mentioned the "control F" function for aiding in finding stations or frequencies in the IFT lists. That was easy to learn, but I'm pretty much self-taught - never took computer classes.Rudy2alan 13:28, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

@Rudy2alan: Mainly here it'd be replacing template references, such as {{Veracruz Radio}} to {{Xalapa Radio}} on an article like XHTP-FM. Raymie (tc) 16:36, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Just to be sure I'm not going to make an error, you already changed the template for XHRUV-FM, and all the stations on that list should have the same template? - XHBE-FM, XHOZ-FM, etc.Rudy2alan 14:17, 1 April 2016 (UTC) That's, by the way XHOZ-FM (Veracruz)!!Rudy2alan 14:20, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

You got it! As to why there are two XHOZ-FMs, see User:Raymie/Mexican double callsigns. An inordinate number of the cases are in Veracruz. Raymie (tc) 18:11, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

XHFM-FM (Veracruz) format change

Could you make sure that XHFM-FM (Veracruz) is now "One FM", playing an electronica dance format - no longer Romantica 94.9? I changed the website and webcast and found a logo called "One FM 94.9". I wanted to be sure before making the changes.Rudy2alan 23:48, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Looks like it. Their cover photo on Facebook says "¡Ya Llegamos a Veracruz!" implying the format change is recent. It happened back in September. Grupo Avanradio seems to have gained quite a bit of autonomy and the result was a slew of format changes on their stations, which are in the Veracruz and Xalapa markets. Raymie (tc) 23:57, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! Changes are made - feel free to edit my edits! I'm never offended unless the change is incorrect like the person who removed the logo for XESS-AM. The logo agreed with their website so I put it back and sent a message to that person to at least put an "edit summary" giving a reason for the change. For XHFM-FM I put "Ya Llegamos a Veracruz" as their slogan, but maybe it isn't; please change it if incorrect. Thanks again for the input!Rudy2alan 14:49, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
That's a temporary slogan so I'm going to remove it, but thanks for the tip. One cool thing: if you want to indent your comments like this, put a few colons (:) in front of your posts on talk pages. Usually they'll increment by one as people reply. Raymie (tc) 17:25, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

XEDA-AM

Wow, what a confusing article on XEDA-AM! The infobox info says it's no longer on the air; but it's still listed in the IFT database and the webcast & website are alive. Curious what your thought are?Rudy2alan 22:42, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

They decided to operate online instead of wasting time operating the AM transmitter (they might be back on air, not sure). They really want to migrate to FM and may have their chance to pitch that later this year given that Mexico is finally adopting 400 kHz station spacing (instead of 800!). If you want another dead station case, go up to XENET-AM. Silent for almost EIGHT YEARS! Its concession almost certainly will not be renewed. The owner ended up getting dragged into still-pending litigation with a partner he took on and it led to significant financial hardship for his stations. Raymie (tc) 03:17, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Logo added; not sure if this helps the argument for keeping the article, but, at the least it looks much better!Rudy2alan 14:01, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

XHFAC-FM slogan

I found a slogan on the XHFAC website "se escucha sabrosa" - I think it's "tasty listening" in English, but since you're much more fluent in Spanish, could you do the translation? Do we usually do Spanish first, then the English translation in parentheses?Rudy2alan

I'm honestly not bothering with translation as much as I really should, but yes. Raymie (tc) 04:54, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Does your note "possible non-migrant" mean that you think that they are still using the 780 AM frequency? XHXY-FM is listed as a combo stations in the IFT database (could this be out of date), and the station website also lists the AM frequency. I haven't been able to find a good logo. Rudy2alan

  • The tables can really lag at times ("check RPC before tables" is sometimes very true), and we also have not had a release in 8 months which really worries me. They are most definitely still on 780. "Non-migrant" means they may have renounced their authorization to move to FM. See sister station XERY-AM and their 2015 concession renewal (page 2, "VI. Desistimiento de la Autorización del Cambio de Frecuencia"). Raymie (tc) 17:56, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

IFT AM tables

I saw that the FM tables for the IFT database reappeared - do you think the AM tables are still being worked on? "Page not found" is shown on the screen for the AM's.Rudy2alan

They've been unusually sporadic since they came up yesterday. They're up now, at least for me. They are a bit harder to read than the old ones, though. Raymie (tc) 18:00, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

XHURM website for 102.1 & 750

Just wondered if you'd seen this website.[1] Rudy2alan

There is something out of date there. If you check the embedded Facebook page (or the homepage of radioramamichoacan.com) their avatar says "40 Principales - 93.7 FM". The format flip must have been fairly recent or this branch of Radiorama, with its own website (because that's how Radiorama rolls, it's a mess), is using some old site stuff.
