A tag has been placed on XHPGUA-FM requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. @Ammarpad: These are *very* new radio stations and so reliable sources are going to be few and far between. Mexico just held a radio station auction, its first in 20 years. This is especially true given that they formally signed on the air today (so far all I can find about that is this state government press release). However, the stations do hold concessions (search for XHPGUA-FM in the IFT Public Concessions Registry) and are legally operating. Raymie (tc) 17:51, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
@Raymie: I actually had that thought, when I made brief search; that's why I think of WP:TOOSOON. However, I mean no harm. Don't take it personal. Thanks. –Ammarpad (talk) 19:28, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

XHTCP-FM

New "Romantica" logo in place; wouldn't it be nice if these companies would update their sites??!! User:Rudy2alan (talk)

It gets confusing. Radiorama (and its corporate siblings like Audiorama and Grupo AS, because the company is slowly breaking up along family lines) is especially hard to fathom in places. A component of RR seems to have lost its affiliation deal with Televisa Radio, thus fewer Los 40 stations. Facebook in particular is the main social network that Mexican radio stations seem to use. Someone removed the logo file for this station, but with no explanation. I found another logo online without the KeBuena; wondered what thoughts you might have?? Is this a format change or just a tweak in the logo, or are both logos usable? If you think the logo which was removed is still valid, would you revert the edit which removed it? User:Rudy2alan (talk)

@Rudy2alan: Get the one without Ke Buena up here. They phased out that part of the name. Raymie (tc) 20:27, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the review of Template:Did you know nominations/Bhagavad-gita Museum, I concur. I also had an image for ALT1

but the OTRS for permission might take time so I gave it up. --Muhandes (talk) 22:43, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Raymie. The image was approved by OTRS, can you please go and approve the alt which uses it, if you think it is appropriate? Thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 08:59, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Hi Raymie. Could you please have a look at it again? Yoninah suggested some improvements which require review. --Muhandes (talk) 06:53, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
I held off only because in that case a new reviewer was needed. Gerda took care of it, so you should be fine. Raymie (tc) 16:57, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
OK, didn't realize that, thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 21:50, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Is XEHK in Guadalajara or San Miguel? There seems to be some confusion, but the Mexican gov. database says Guadalajara. I changed San Miguel to San Miguel el Alto because it was the only San Miguel I found in Jalisco. User:Rudy2alan(talk)

@Rudy2alan: It's in Guadalajara. There is probably a neighborhood called San Miguel where the stick is. Raymie (tc) 22:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

The Radiorama website shows a logo (page 3 of the Radiorama website) with a format of "1300 Radio Mexicana", but the article branding is shown as "Fiesta Mexicana". I think that you edited the branding last time, so I just wanted to be sure before adding the "Radio Mexicana" logo. Rudy2alan (talk)

@Rudy2alan: I'm probably so used to Fiesta Mexicana as a station name. It probably should be Radio Mexicana. Raymie (tc) 00:25, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Commons deletion request

Wondering if you have an opinion on commons:Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Carretera_federal_S30.svg. I'm pretty sure that IP is a Guadalajara-based editor who is indefinitely blocked here and at Commons. –Fredddie 23:35, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Me too. However, I put a comment on it endorsing a keep and explaining why. It's a bit odd since the route is not actually signed S30 which *is* its legal designation. Raymie (tc) 23:45, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:XHFTI-FM La Caliente logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:59, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:19, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Walden Grove construction.png

Thank you for uploading File:Walden Grove construction.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 16:33, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

What is a "concession" in Mexican broadcasting?

Would this be a license or construction permit? I'm unclear on the terminology. Thanks!Stereorock (talk) 19:14, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

@Stereorock: There is no equivalent for a construction permit, so the concession is what would be called a license in the US. (In pre-2014 use, it also has the connotation of denoting a commercial station. Mexico used to issue concessions for commercial stations and permits for noncommercial ones. With the passage of the Federal Broadcasting and Telecommunications Law (LFTR) in 2014, Mexico now issues different types of concessions to all stations (commercial, public, social, social community or social indigenous).) You probably have noticed that as I've edited articles like XETRA-FM, I've changed "license" to "concession" to match the use of concesión in Spanish.
Also worth noting is that unbuilt stations have concessions too, and a concession awarded does not mean a station is on the air like a license would in the US. For instance, Mexico had a radio station auction last year. Right now, XHPVTS-FM is unbuilt but it holds a concession, which can be consulted from the IFT web site. Use of CDMX

Just wanted to thank you for your check of this on the Mexico City template; I'm seeing it's getting some NYC-type of use, but I'm definitely not sure if it's become ubiquitous (it seems like there's some artificial boosting going on), so I appreciate getting some eyes on that. Nate (chatter) 04:08, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

@Mrschimpf: It's *really* gotten traction in the last two-three years, especially since the Distrito Federal was abolished two and a half years ago. There's also a concession for an XHCDMX-FM (the article for it is in my userspace because the station isn't on air, but when it comes on air, it will gain a lot of national press). It's also used in the logo of the Mexico City government (which has the url cdmx.gob.mx), a usage that predates DF abolition, and I've seen it in federal documents as well. What worries me is that there's not a lot of English usage (which makes some sense admittedly), and even if there was, a navbox wouldn't use it as a title. {{TV in New York City}} doesn't include "NYC" in the header. Raymie (tc) 05:03, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Someone removed the logo from the XHVQ-FM article; do you think the logo may be out of date. If you think the logo is still good, would you revert the edit which removed it? Same thing happened with XHPI-FM. Thanks! User:Rudy2alan (talk)

@Rudy2alan: Yes, that's why. The user who did it also happens to be on airstaff at an ACIR station in Villahermosa. The old oval Amor logos were replaced with ones in this family. The full list is XHAGS, XHOZ (Veracruz), XHOP, XHQTO, XHRH, XHOCA, XHPI, XHVQ, XHCOC, XHSH, XHOM. Note that XHMY was also removed, but it has no logo and is in a weird limbo between operators (it has been for some time). Raymie (tc) 00:39, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
