Don't make the same edit repeatedly to an article; do discuss situation on the article's talk page[edit]

Your recent editing history at Rat rod shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. —C.Fred (talk) 13:31, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

September 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Rat Rod. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are affiliated with oldtinrods.com you should refrain from adding any links to it without getting consensus at the talk page of the article in question. While your edits appear to be factually correct, oldtinrods.com looks like a website who's primary purpose is to advertise a product or service and is not what we would consider a reliable source for the information you wish to add. Another editor has posted at the conflict of interest noticeboard with concerns that you may be affiliated with oldtinrods.com. Threats[edit]

Your last post at Talk:Rat rod could be seen threatening. Telling other editors that you know who they are indicates that you may seek some form of retribution. This is not acceptable. I'm not sure what you are upset about, but if you continue to make these kinds of veiled threats you will be blocked from editing. --Daniel 03:03, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
