wp:before[edit]

Hi Rmz. I'm moving my thoughts here, as they are increasingly tangential to the AN/I. Perhaps I'm not being clear. The issue for you to focus on, especially as the nom (following wp:before), is not whether wp articles lack refs within them that are sufficient. But whether such references do in fact exist -- whether or not they are in the article.

It may well be that you have performed such a search, and made such a determination. But the results of the other two AfDs made me wonder. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 21:32, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did check wp:before prior to nominating the articles and I did search on Google for relevant sources, honestly the other 2 articles were withdrawn based on assumption of good faith, they both used a book as reference (although 1 of them no longer uses the book...). since I do not posses the book I have to assume good faith and snowball the discussions so we don't waste time. however the 3rd article in my mind still lacks sufficient references. the reference mentioned has nothing to do with the content of the article. the only thing it proves is the name of the locomotive and the horsepower!  Rmzadeh  ►  21:53, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Great -- it just wasn't clear to me, and I know that you are a relatively new editor, so I thought I would point out the guideline. BTW -- you can find many (millions of) books (and even read their contents) on the google books search. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I know, but this book does not have a preview in Google Books so I can not read it online :)  Rmzadeh  ►  22:08, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:10, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Call for Carleton University's Campus Ambassador[edit]

Hello,

My name is Andrew. I'm the Regional Ambassador for the Canada Education Program. The goal of this program is to engage students and professors in using Wikipedia as a teaching tool. A professor from Carleton University, which you indicated your affiliation with the university through your userbox, is participating in the program for Fall 2012 semester. We're seeking campus ambassadors, which we currently don't have for Carleton University, who are available on-campus to help students. If you're interested (or have any other questions), please leave a message on my talk page. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:46, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Rmzadeh,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
