Autobiography?[edit]

Please refrain from writing autobiographical articles, as you did at Rimma Sushanskaya. Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged; if you create such an article, it may be deleted. All edits to articles must conform to our policies on no original research, neutral point of view, and avoid conflicts of interest. Please remember that Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia, not a personal webspace provider. If your achievements are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:37, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments but this is not an autobiography... I am not Rimma Sushanskaya (as much as I would like to be) I am Ruth. Please explain more.

Rimma2011 (talk) 16:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When your username is Rimma, and you write about a person named Rimma, the deduction is pretty obvious. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:04, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK... What do I need to do now? Help would be appreciated rather than sarcasm! Rimma2011 (talk) 17:10, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd advise a change of username. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:17, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If I change my username will I lose the article?

Rimma2011 (talk) 17:31, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, once the article has been created it is open to everyone for editing. A change of username is a sign that you intend to write about other topics, and it avoids any suspicion that you are (or are here to promote) Sushanskaya. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:40, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Orange Mike. I have asked for a username change. Your help is appreciated. But your instant deletion of my page is not. Perhaps you need some training in customer care. Rimma2011 (talk) 17:44, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I did not delete the page. I asked that other administrators look at it, and they agreed that in its present form it was not acceptable. As I've already said elsewhere, the best thing to do is to work on a new draft in your userspace that does not include the peacock words and does include some solid, verifiable references to reliable sources to establish how she is notable in the context of a planet with millions of musicians. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:31, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you didn't delete it why can't it be put back into draft? Rimma2011 (talk) 18:37, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Orange Mike for transferring this article to the sandbox and indicating where the editing should take place. Much appreciated. RuthG2011 (talk) 09:40, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Orange Mike | Talk 17:17, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you David for sorting this out and getting me to a point where I can start again. Was it you who restored and amended the article in the sandbox? This is really helpful and I understand what is being said. Many thanks. RuthG2011 (talk) 22:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No not me; I'm not an administrator. It was Orangemike who restored it for you (see the page history). - David Biddulph (talk) 03:03, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
