Fiumicino Airport source?[edit]

Hi Riktetta. We are working for Aeroporti di Roma and editing the profile for Fiumicino airport based on their indications. Could you please restore the version we had created on Friday? Thank you

San Marino source?[edit]

Hi Riktetta. I'm wondering if you have a source saying the appearances won't be counted for the Italy match vs San Marino on 31 May? It would be appreciated. Thanks. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 16:40, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee: There is not that much to show in order to state that this is not an official match, things to check are those...missing: this match it is NOT scheduled neither on Fifa calendar (http://www.fifa.com/live-scores/teams/country=ita/men/matches/index.html) NOR in FIGC (Italian football federation) website (http://www.figc.it/it/3065/21787/Calendario.shtml). In addition roster is composed by, mainly, under 23 players (much of them also called up for the Under 21 European in June) and are not those usually used in official matches (Buffon, Chiellini, Candreva, etc...). For the above things, unless they will change, match should be considered a NON Fifa match, thus statistics, caps and goal NOT to be counted. I remain at your dispsoal for any additional info you may need. Best regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riktetta (talkcontribs) 21:01, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. I wonder if it will also belong at Italy national football team results (unofficial matches)...curious to see if it gets added to http://www.italia1910.com/statistiche-le-partite-non-ufficiali.asp. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:12, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it should be reported there... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riktetta (talkcontribs) 07:32, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Riktetta, i see you removed several players from the article, which according to Juventus' financial report, they were under contract with the club until 2018 and 2019, so where is the source they were free agents? Don't give me transfermarkt as it is not reliable as it is community generated (just like wikipedia). Matthew_hk tc 14:56, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Italy national under-21 football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paul Tierney (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Source properly[edit]

When adding a source ensure the article title, date, and publisher is included. F8RIL (talk) 18:28, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

arbitrarly removing contents is considered vandalism, you are free to modify and improve contents if you think are incompletes. Be more precise about what you think is missing.

See the edit I made since, adding the title, “Padova, dalla Juventus arriva anche Vogliacco”, as well as the publisher, and date. A bare url will see the article get tagged. F8RIL (talk) 18:36, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please help me in doing such things, bare url are multiple in that section...
I believe you added those bare links. Go through each one, add title, and publisher. Example, [1] F8RIL (talk) 18:47, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Milan Malpensa Airport[edit]

Dear Riktetta, thank you for your edits at many airport articles. Currently, Wikipedia has been vandalized by many unregistered users. Hi Nguyen, thanks for the tip. Actually I am involved in an edit war between me, user MadMax3249 and unregistered user 213.122.231.207 which edits in Milan Malpensa page (arbitral removal of content) may represent vandalisms. In addition, I think that both profiles are the same person that sometimes do not (forgot to?) access. Any idea on how to handle? In the past I suggetsed to make this page available for modifications only to registered users, but I received no feedbacks...TY Riktetta (talk) 14:38, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand, I just took a look in the page history and think you should calm down because MadMax3249 is new user, not like you so he can make mistakes when editing. If he still removing the end dates without reference, I will talk to him. Don’t worry! Nguyen QuocTrung (talk) 17:32, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Castenetto[edit]

The Lega B website is a pain the ass, but if you click on "trasferimenti estivi", it shows all transfers sorted by date and type (instead of by team). August 2019[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Gran Canaria Airport. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You need to support your changes with sources that directly support them. Jetstreamer Talk 21:27, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Milan Malpensa Airport. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Jetstreamer Talk 21:32, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jetstreamer: Hi. Maybe I lost something, but let's try to sum up:

  • Tenerife South Airport: you claim that there is not such date on the reference: reference is Ryanair offical website (that, I think, is the best source for Ryanair services). If you look for Tenerife--> Beauvais flights, the last service available is on 5 January (the date that was included). Given that, which is the problem? Why you undid this revision? Please also consider that in Beauvais–Tillé Airport page the same info with same ref is provided (and was done by another user)
  • Gran Canaria Airport: all the info provided were referenced (and always by Ryanair official website). NO unreferenced info were given.
  • Milan Malpensa Airport: again, reference used is Ryanair official website, only that was a litlle bit deeper research.

Please reply, thank you Riktetta (talk) 07:40, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You need to provide sources that directly support the changes. The use of booking engines is original research.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:26, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jetstreamer: Ok, this justify for Milan malpensa change, what about my points regarding Tenerife e Gran Canaria? Riktetta (talk) 18:16, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Much the same thing. Where in the reference you used, https://www.ryanair.com, is the date in question directly mentioned?--Jetstreamer Talk 21:51, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jetstreamer: This is a quiet short-sighted policy: companies rarely announce the stop of a service (as they do with new opening) but it is enough to do a couple of clicks on their websites to find out. But this is considered an original research. On the otherside, third parties web sites (e.g. routesonline.com) not always announce the stop of a service in time. We truly run the risk to deny information because of bureaucracy. Riktetta (talk) 07:45, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(Un)fortunately, WP:VERIFY is a policy, and if you do not provide a reliable source in compliance with it then the changes should not be implemented. By recalling it, me or anyone else can promptly revert such edits.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:34, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, List of Argentine footballers in Serie B, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 14:08, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Buidhe: Hi. Page belong to "Category:Lists of expatriate association football players" and it has been created in order to lighten his mother page, as already done for other similar pages. As you can see, the page is aligned to other in the category as per number and type of references. In order to meet verifiability policy I just added re-direction to Lega Serie B website, the official website collecting news, statistics and lists regarding Serie B championship. Other references may not be accepted as they are user based databases (e.g. www.transfermarkt.com). I then submitted page for review, please make sure that will be visible again. Wherever needed feel free to place the "unreferenced" tag. From my side I will have the commitment to add new references if and when available. Italy U21 - player Samuele Ricci injured[edit]

Hello, I wrote by mistake that Ricci is not injured, I wanted to say that he has not been replaced. For that reason, as he is part of a list of 23 players called for a "tournament" (the group stage of the Euro U21) - and not a normal match - he should stay on the list even if is not available to play.--88.88.123.218 (talk) 08:43, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@88.88.123.218: Hi. ok, I see your point, but consider that several articles expressely stated that the player had returned to his team, lefting the U21 National team (e.g. this https://www.alfredopedulla.com/italia-under-21-ricci-infortunato-non-verra-rimpiazzato/). Actually it's not included in the list, nor aggregated to the roster. If this source has not been added yet, we had better wait.--Island92 (talk) 15:45, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Island92: Hi, I added a new ref fo the new called ups. if we wait for FIGC ref we run the risk to be outdated. Anyway FIGC is not the only reliable source. Riktetta (talk) 15:46, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tuttomercato web is not a reliable source. We should wait for that on FIGC official website.--Island92 (talk) 15:47, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is a your opinion and nothing more. Please stop arbitrarly removal or un-edit Riktetta (talk) 15:48, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No. Tuttomercato web doesn't work directly with FIGC. The best source should come from here. I don't see it yet.--Island92 (talk) 15:50, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, just added a ref from Gazzetta.it (reliable as well) hope this is enough for your spoils. When FIGC ref will be available, feel free to substitute, in the meanwhile please stop undoing proper edits. regards. Riktetta (talk) 15:52, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My intention was not to make you think about which edits are absolutely either right or wrong to be made, despite the fact they may be proper or not from time to time. Generally speaking, Gazzetta.it is much closer to the Nazionale than Tuttomercatoweb. Therefore the information currently given with that source works nicely. In addition to that, into the table list we should leave just Emerson for a merely reason: in this template the only thing written is just Emerson rather than the full name.--Island92 (talk) 16:08, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Added.--Island92 (talk) 18:56, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I see your point, but maybe, instead of undoing edits, you can ask for better ref. Undoing proper edits do not just create useless conflicts but it is also considered a vandalism. Please be more constructive next time; I'm always open to dialogue, never to war. With regards to the "Emerson issue", I think that you are discussing it with another user, not me. I have no point for this specific discussion Regards. Riktetta (talk) 08:18, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Remember just the fact when you add a new ref, it should be completed with the right parameters. Adding <ref> url link </ref> sounds like the edit was not taken care of very much.--Island92 (talk) 13:19, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bare URLs[edit]

Hi Riktetta

It's great that you are expanding so many articles and adding references ... but please please can you fill the references using {{cite web}}? The WP:Bare URLs which you add (e.g [1], [2]) are obscure to readers and prone to WP:Linkrot.

You shouldn't be leaving problems like this for other editors to clean up after you. For help on how to fill a citation, see WP:HOWTOCITE, and {{cite web}}. Since most of your refs are to a few sites (e.g. TUTTOmercatoWEB.com), it i very easy to create a partly-filled template to which you need add only a few details. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:53, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with BrownHairedGirl, having filled in a few citations myself on Atalanta B.C., including one more just now [3]. Your diligence in keeping numerous pages up-to-date during the transfer market is appreciated, though it only takes a few seconds longer to provide complete citations (you can even copy, paste, change parameters), and it would save other editors the cleanup work. Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport[edit]

Why the mass removal of sources in this edit. The Banner talk 12:52, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Note: When an connection starts, you can remove the start date, not the source. The Banner talk 14:30, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning, it is common use, in Airport pages, to limit the number of sources, in order not to heavy up the page. Usually ref.s for routes established and consolidated are removed for this reason. In case of Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport it has to be considered the possibiltiy to add, at the begin of the table, a reference linking to airport schedule: in this case the link would encompass all the existing routes in just one reference, making the section smoother. Anyway, this is, again, just a common use, if you think that would not apply to this specific page, feel free to undone (just update starting dates). Regards
Riktetta (talk) 14:48, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

About Italy U21 team and Italy U23 team[edit]

Hi, Thanks for your message. Honestly, I don't know what is right.

Except Europeaon Countries, Many football Associations operate U23 team officially. So This cannot be argued.

But Most Europeaon Countries, U21 team to qualify at olympics and the team which participate in Olympic have 22 or 23 years old players.

In addtion, Many Europeaon football Associations don't operate U23 team officially

For Example, FIGC operate national teams as belows

This situation cause argument.

In my opinion, Even though Wikipedia Italy national under-23 football team page is about Italy U23 team in 1970s.

Italy national under-21 football team and Italy national under-23 football team are same team.

Because they share same coaching staff.

I'm not sure what I'd call Itally Olympic team, U21 team or Italy U23 team.

For consistency, I hope that European countries operate U23 team officially like non-European countries.

Before discussion on talk page. You look Italian, I'd like to hear your opinion about this case. Footwiks (talk) 10:16, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sources are the key[edit]

Good evening,

Sources are the key to every airline and destinations table. Thus I can not understand why you A) keep removing sources and B) remove them when services start and not only the begins/resumes DD MM YYYY tag.

Of course I won't revert the edits but the sources given are crucial for the reliability of the air services we list at the airport pages, even after flights have begun.

Would be cool If you could just tell your point of view because I don't see any benefit from removing sources.

Brgds,
Der HON (talk) 23:00, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Der HON:.
If a ref is removed is, usually, because: 1) it is repeated (e.g. there is already a cumulate reference at the beginning of the table, collecting all the services). This is mainly to prevent the so-called "reference overload", 2) The webpage is no longer available/accesible (or contain virus...yes, it also happened, I think in the Antalya Airport resulting in just a tile pointing to nothing. 3) The reference come from a non-reliable source (e.g. Italiavola.com, that is a quite weel updated website, but being a user-based forum did not meet the reliability requirements).
When updating an airport page, I try to check deeply almost all the reference referring to already exixting/already begun/already/resumed routes, but it can happen that I miss someone. Of Course it can also happen that I wrongly delete some legit references (in this case, wait nothing to restore them). I'm trying my best in order to "maintain" these kind of pages, in which several references have been left since I do not know when. If you think that also these must be left, I will no longer check them.
Best regards Riktetta (talk) 06:42, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good evening,
Sorry but I just saw by now that you had answered my questions, but somehow Wikipedia didn't show me the ping. Nevertheless, thanks for your answer.
In general, I would call myself d'accord with your statements, especially with point 2. Regarding nr. 3 it is indeed bad to have non-reliable sources in the tables but in the end it's better than to have no source.
The only sources that I do remove when a service starts/resumes/ends are landing page links, e.g. "https://www.lufthansa.com/de/de/homepage" as they do not fulfill Wikipedia standards at all.
If a reference is added multiple times because it supports several new service I can kind of understand it to remove it. Still, I wouldn't delete it completely but just move the reference next to the airline name
My main goal was to write you because I lately saw some changes e.g. at Bologna and Palermo airport pages where you removed the sources for an airline with only one destination or accidentaly removed a source which was still used somewhere else and therefore got "orphaned".
But as all things are clear now - no more topics or points to discuss about.
Thanks a lot and brgds,

Re: List of foreign Serie A players - stagione 2023-24[edit]

--Valentinenba97 (talk) 16:25, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ok. Attendo settimana prossima anche i fine prestiti, allora...
Riktetta (talk) 19:12, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Al contempo segnalo che per quanto riguarda Bari e Cagliari per i ritorni vanno monitorati:
  • Benali (LBY) e Botta (ARG) nel Bari;
  • Rog (HRV), Kourfalidis (GRC) Radunović (SRB), Obert (SVK), Lapadula (PER) e Nández (URY) nel Cagliari
--Valentinenba97 (talk) 18:02, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ciao
saluti
Riktetta (talk) 16:04, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I rientri dal prestito sì (finché non vengono ceduti), quelli in attesa di rinnovo no. --Valentinenba97 (talk) 12:48, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Airport pages[edit]

Hi... I'm very grateful that you update wiki pages when routes start and end - i.e. you remove the "(begins XXX date)" or "(ends XXX date)". However, I notice that when you do so, you also remove the reference or source relating to the route. A number of pages on wikipedia have been challenged and then deleted by other wiki users because the page does not contain sources for all the routes. If you look at pages for airports in the USA, you will see that references and sources are retained forever. Some people in the USA think that European airports should have the same rules on wikipedia as for American airports - their argument is that if references do not exist, then it is not an encyclopaedia. Would you be kind enough to *keep and not delete* the references and sources on pages, so there is a reduced risk of pages being deleted in the future ? It seems a shame that you are putting in all the effort... only for pages to potentially be deleted in the future. Many thanks in advance. Pmbma (talk) 15:54, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for contributing in WP airport pages.
The removal of reference is not intended, of course, to impoverish the page but rather than to prevent several other chellenges that may arisen: 1) to prevent the overload of references that would make heavier the page and the reading (preventing the so called "reference orgy") 2) much references are not maintained, resulting in links to no longer existing or archived pages (that can't be considered valid references anymore) and 3) much references, if we consider those used in airports, points to non-reliable sources (user based sites) that also are not liked by wikipedian community (and guidelines). Actually much airport pages already has a reference, at the begins of the destination table, pointing at the overall flight plan. These represent a comfortable cumulated reference already embedding all the routes mentiuoned. In normal conditions these would be considerated enough. Actually claiming that a routes does not exists because there is not a reference on WP is quite...weird (but, hey, just my opinion), and would be even weirder to challenge an entire page because of this, while there is no rule stating that every single route listed has to have a reference. For sure, I will try not to remove references that may help the page (especially those in small/minor airports) but I will continue to remove references that are not acceptable, not relevant and/or repetitive. Hope to have explained my POV... Riktetta (talk) 19:53, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 Serie A league table[edit]

Hello, thanks for informing. All league season articles use templates for the standings, therefore we should have a procedure to transition towards that, and in fact I am quite surprised this had not been done before. The fact club season articles are (wrongly) pointing to the main article rather than the template is not an excuse, and we should instead change them all to use a "{{2023–24 Serie A table|showteam=MIL}}", etc, syntax instead. I will shortly start doing these changes myself, in order to make room for the transition to happen seamlessly. Thanks, Angelo (talk) 16:27, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reference formatting[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references! However, you should know that adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to linkrot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources. A bare URL is a URL cited as a reference for some information in an article without any accompanying information about the linked page. In other words, it is just URL copied and pasted into the Wiki text, inserted between <ref>...</ref> tags, without title, author, date, or any of the usual information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.

which displays inline in the running text of the article as:

Lorem ipsum[1] dolor sit amet.

and displays under References as:

1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.

If you've already entered one or more bare urls to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically. Once again, thanks for adding references to articles, and to avoid future link rot, please consider supplementing your bare URLs—creating full, inline citations with title, author, date, publisher, etc. More information can be found at Wikipedia:Inline citations. Thank you. :Jay8g [VTE] 07:16, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
