I think these may be the same thing, but the descriptions are somewhat unclear (they are both very short). - They are the same if one is to believe Yale University's libarians: Forlane; TYPE (English, French); Italian folkdance; use for forlana, furlana. Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! I know, reading that talk page makes me sad every time I think about it. I found the incident by reading User:Rspeer. I've never worked with Rspeer on articles, but when I see him comment on discussions, I find him to be one of the smartest Wikipedians out there. Da Yellow Bus Rydah
Oh hey, I didn't realize who had prodded this until after I removed the {{prod}} and added some sources: Da Yellow Bus Rydah. It's borderline. The album does seem to have gotten some coverage, and is on a major label, but it looks like it's status is up in the air. So it possibly fails WP:CRYSTAL because even with the sources I don't think we can say it's "almost certain to occur." The video for "Ghost Ride It" is pretty hilarious, but that's not a reason to keep either :) Anyways, if you want to take this one to AFD and see what people think I'd have no problem with that. --JayHenry (talk) 02:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Category merging - need your help
Hello administrator Rigadoun. Thank you for all your help here at Wikipedia.
You created the category Category:Lists of radio episodes [2] back in 2009 and it currently has 2 entries. I have found a similar category created in 2007 titled Category:Lists of radio series episodes [3] that has 24 entries. I was thinking these 2 categories could be merged.
I looked around at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/All current discussions and read the rules at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion (a.k.a. CFD process).
I am not expert enough to feel comfortable going through the CFD process so I asked for help at the Help desk (see request for help). - Rollbacker Robert Skyhawk suggested I be BOLD and just merge the 2 categories without going through the CFD process. I may do that as a last resort, but I wanted to ask you for help first.
I am looking to you for expert help. Would you be willing to review the 2 categories and merge them if necessary? If not, would you help me with whatever the next steps should be? Thanks for your help. - Hydroxonium (talk) 07:18, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Hydroxonium. In theory there could be a difference, as radio episodes could group episodes of different series. (For instance, something like List of radio episodes from some year or treating some topic). However, it seems unlikely any such lists would be created, and the two articles that were in the Category:List of radio episodes really belonged in the other category. So I went ahead and recategorized them and deleted the category I had created, which really just duplicates the other. You could have gone to CFD, but this seemed clearcut enough that you could just be bold. Thanks for noticing the redundancy. Rigadoun (talk) 17:44, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

language templates
Hi. As you may see above, I proposed that a couple of language templates should be deleted, but the decision was to keep them. However there did seem to be a consensus that some rewording was desirable so as to stress that the original script to be added should be based on WP:RS, rather than perhaps just on re-transliteration. Similar comments would apply to template:Arabic, template:Cyrillic and template:Chinese script. I'm ready to do that rewording, but as you created the templates you might prefer to do it yourself, so I'll wait at least until I see that you've resumed editing. MSU Interview
Dear Rigadoun,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you.
