Thanks for the support position. However, I've decided to withdraw my acceptance because of real WP:CIVIL concerns. I will try again later when I've proven to myself and others that my anger will no longer interfere with my abilities as a Wikipedia editor. Yes, though should you care to study English to any degree you will know that the '-ize' variation of words is in fact not an Americanization but the original British spelling.

Unless words derive from French they ought to be spelt '-ize', and most higher authorities on the English language favour this version due to this, the OED itself stating:

"The suffix…, whatever the element to which it is added, is in its origin the Gr[eek] -ιζειν, L[atin] -izāre; and, as the pronunciation is also with z, there is no reason why in English the special French spelling in -iser should be followed, in opposition to that which is at once etymological and phonetic."

I am in fact British and feel no need to Americanize anything, merely to correct it.

Incredible String Band article

While I agree with your other spelling corrections, I believe "auditoria" is not in fact an error. Latin words ending in "ium" often have an "ia" plural, e.g. medium/media. However, modern usage often prefers the "iums" form, e.g. stadiums rather than the equally correct stadia. Rodparkes 03:24, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

You are correct. I often lazily include simplification of single words in the same lump category as spelling when making other spelling fixes. -- LeCour^T:C
