Danish heraldry[edit]

And it was nice to see others interested in Danish heraldry. Fortunately, a lot of older Danish images are Public Domain, see e.g. a brief list of material here. If you consider adding some images of coats of arms belonging to members of the Danish nobility, the images by Harald Storck are PD, so this includes almost all images in "Danske adelsvåbener, en heraldisk nøgle" from Politikens Forlag. I have a copy on loan from the library so if you need a specific image, feel free to ask. Good luck with the article. Valentinian T / C 00:03, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to have a few images for the section of private coats of arms.--Regicollis 00:14, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a look, but it might take a couple of days. Storck's drawings are black-and-white only but of good quality. If you have any specific images in mind, just let me know. Valentinian T / C 11:52, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. If you could find a medieval coat of arms and a new one it would be good. I would also like a coat of arms where the design of the escutcheon is repeated in the crest, as this is typical for German-Scandinavian heraldry. It is no problem that the images are in black and white. I am able to colourise them if you provide me with the blazon.--Regicollis 13:38, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Horsens-coa.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Horsens-coa.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:26, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Sflogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sflogo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Danish republicanism[edit]

Hello Regicollis,

I see that you are Danish and oppose monarchy. I edit Res Publica, an international anti-monarchy Web directory and wonder whether I've missed any republican resources for Denmark.

Would you please have a look and share your thoughts?

Thank you.

Jonathan David Makepeace 21:52, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Republicanism is not very wiedespread in Denmark and is most prealent among socialists and other left wing groups. A few libertarins are opposed to the monarchy too.

The left wing news portal Modkraft has published some republican articles:

http://modkraft.dk/spip.php?article4752 - Konge, magt og ideal (King, power and ideal) http://modkraft.dk/spip.php?article4757 - Kongehuset - en fortløbende medieproduktion (The monarchy - a continous media production)

A libertarian article against monarchy can be found at the libertarian site Liberator.dk

Beer category decision[edit]

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats. SilkTork *YES! 17:49, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm wondering if you are planning to update the userbox User:Regicollis/Userboxes/Rød Valgallianse now that Rød Valgallianse is no more. The new party is called Rødt. --Ifrit (talk) 04:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see you used translated content from [1]. Are you sure the original creator of the Danish content has given you permission to use it under the GFDL? Thue | talk 16:29, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just happened across this. Leksikon'org's license is incompatible with GFDL, as they only allow non-commercial re-use of their content. See da:Wikipedia-diskussion:Kilder#leksikon.org for a recent discussion (in short: all material from leksikon.org is being removed from dawiki). Translations are derivative works, and hence can't be used either. If you can get an individual author, who retains his or her copyright, to agree with the GFDL, it is of course another matter. - Kaare (talk) 21:15, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can see the problem. I've tried to re-write the article so that it is not a direct translation of the original Danish. However as it is my sole source and since I like the article in Danish use a chronological representation of the events, I would like someone to have a look at it and determine whether it is still too close to the article in Danish or not.--Regicollis (talk) 02:16, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms on ro.wp[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you've been adding coats-of-arms to the infobox of articles about some communes. The ro.wp infobox for settlements is designed so that it pulls the coat of arms (as well as other data) from Wikidata. So, I think it might be easier for you to just assign the correct image name to the coat of arms image property of the corresponding Wikidata item and the problem is solved, potentially for multiple wikis at once (for ro.wp, at the very least).- Andrei (talk) 09:28, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
