Explanation - John Platania[edit]

Hi there, You removed an external link in the John Platania article. The link actually went to an earlier version of the article for the Martha Velez Hypnotized album. That version of the article was replaced with a redirect to the Martha Velez page, because the Hypnotized album was deemed "not notable" by another editor. (I beg to differ.) After the album article was replaced with the redirect, I added the link to the earlier version of the album article to the John Platania article in case anyone wanted to see the personnel and info for the album. Probably unorthodox, I realize. I'm not reverting your edit and I'm not going to try to defend the notability of the Hypnotized album - just offering the explanation. J. Van Meter (talk) 12:35, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I'm new on enwiki, and I don't know all rules. So I have done what I had done if this was on fr-wiki. Thanks for your message. If I make mistaks, you can revert me, it's normal.

-No problem! My use of a link to the older version of an article was an unconventional approach. I just wanted to clarify my reasoning. J. Van Meter (talk) 13:42, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Users are allowed to remove warnings from their talk pages, so please don't restore those warnings and don't warn them for vandalism when they do this. Kleinpecan (talk) 05:05, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kleinpecan : Thanks you for this information, I don't know that. I won't be doing this anymore. RG067 (talk) 05:10, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I too didn't know this until someone told me :-) Kleinpecan (talk) 05:11, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi RG067. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Seddon talk 00:54, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
