Nimodipine[edit]

I removed your addition that this drug should not be given IV. It is used in many neurosurgical centres for this indication. Wikipedia does not independently state what should or should not be done. Rather, it can cite reliable sources advocating or discouraging a particular behaviour. You may reinsert the material provided such sources are added. JFW | T@lk 01:32, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JFW, Thank you for your kind feedback. My concern comes from the comment at the bottom of the FDA page I have now cited (I hope per your request), noting that reports continue to come in where Nimotop is mistakenly getting administered IV. I hope your Wiki page with it's IV dosage advice is not the source of those problems. What you have on the page now, showing radically lower dosage rates IV sounds reasonable given the bioavailability by that route. But the data sheet from Bayer seems pretty adamant against IV administration of any kind. I assume you're a doctor, or at least a pharmacist, where I am just an informed patient recovering from SAH, and so will bow to your opinion if you want to remove my latest post.
