A short lesson on imbedding pictures in articles[edit]

To put a picture on an article, all you have to do is link to it, with "Image:" before the filename. If I wanted to put the picture of Kimiko here, I would put "[[Image:Kimikotohomiko.jpg]]" but I cannot as this is not an article and it would violate the fair use rationale. However, I can add this image, a test image, here to show you how it works:

If I wanted to give the image a caption, I would do so by adding "|thumb" to the image imbedding, and then another | and then whatever I wanted to say in the picture. On the page for Kimiko Tohomiko I typed "[[Image:Kimikotohomiko.jpg|thumb|100px|'''Kimiko Tohomiko''']]" and that made the picture look as it did, including resizing it to be 100 pixels wide, and imbedding it on the right side of the page. The effect that has on Example.jpg is this:

This is an example of image formatting.

Hi there, I just came here to inform you that I tagged Soni (singer) for speedy deletion per criteria A7, which states articles can be speedy deleted if they are "Unremarkable people or groups/vanity pages. An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is disputed or controversial, it should be taken to AFD instead. (See Wikipedia:Deletion of vanity articles for further guidance on this criterion). Based on this criteria, I feel that the way the article stands, it appears to be an advertisement for the singer as opposed to an article asserting the subject's notability. Thanks. I see you've made this article, and would like to thank you for the contribution... it's very difficult to find something new to create on Wikipedia, since it's already so massive to begin with. However, the article has a lot of problems that go against Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I'm afraid someone else has tagged the article for speedy deletion. Want some help on how to recreate it as a better article? --The Prophet Wizard of the Crayon Cake 23:32, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
