The Dark Knight Rises[edit]

Hi Pierreleone,

I've noticed that you keep adding details of the plot to The Dark Knight Rises, specifically relating to Bane's backstory. While your contributions are appreciated and well-written, they have had to be reverted several times. I thought I might take this opportunity to explain to you why this is.

Firstly, under the rules established by WP:FILMPLOT, recounts of film plots should be limited to no more than 700 words. Going a little over is acceptable occasionally, but The Dark Knight Rises is already over the limit, and your edits push that boundary even further.
Secondly, it's excessively detailed. Understanding Bane's origins are not key to understanding the plot of the film, so adding in backstory explaining how he came to be Bane is simply too much detail.
Finally, and most importantly, the film proves the backstory to be false. It applies to Talia, not Bane. Talia's origins are explained further down in the article, so adding in detail that is later proven to be incorrect within thr world of the film is unnecessary.

Please don't take this as anything other than constructive criticism of your work. As I said, your edits are appreciated and well-written, so please don't let this message deter you from continuing to edit Wikipedia. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 08:30, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

None of what you describe is central to the film. You can easily understand the events of the film without understanding the intricacies of the relationship between Bane, Talia and Ra's. The plot outline does not need that level of detail, because it is an outline and not an in-depth analysis of the events of the film. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 04:53, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is unnecessary. At most, a sentence explaining Talia's motivations is justified, but to recount the entire backstory is unnecessary. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 10:11, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
