I've moved this from the deleted talk page of DD/MM/YYYY so that you can get the benefit of whatever pointers you might care to glean. The article was deleted by another administrator, and I can't quarrel with that decision, but if you want to try to recreate the article and re-post it, I think the material below may assist you to do so in a way that it might stay. As I note below, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. "I am confused as to why this page is proposed for deletion. This band is enormous in the Toronto music scene, have played with some huge acts and have toured for ages. They've been featured in major Canadian music publications like Exclaim and Chart, and have been a featured band on Myspace."
- Giving the exact citation (issue, page, author's name) for "major Canadian music publications" would be helpful. MySpace is not generally considered to be a reliable source for Wikipedia. One thing that you may find helpful is to read the policy page at WP:MUSIC to see the exact requirements for a band to be notable and see if this band meets them; for instance, have they done a cross-Canada tour? If one of those requirements is met, adding it to the article would be an excellent step. If you have any questions about Wikipedia policy, you can leave me a note. - Thanks for your note. By the time you read this, I will have created a "sandbox" page at User:PaulAitken/Sandbox that will contain the deleted material from your article. I gathered from your note that you wanted to work on the article and this would be the best place to do it -- once it contains the references and citations you mentioned, you can re-mount it within Wikipedia. I wanted to mention one topic upon which I may have inadvertently misled you. I think you and I were both referencing the same line from WP:MUSIC -- "Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country" -- but I should have put more emphasis upon the "non-trivial coverage" part. It's not sufficient merely to have done a cross-country tour, it's the non-trivial coverage of that tour that is important (see our reliable sources policy). - I also wanted to mention that, from my examination of the deleted material, I suspect that there's a very central Wikipedia policy that it might be worthwhile to bring to your attention. Succinctly put, it's that every piece of opinion in an article must be referenced by a citation from an expert; what you think about the topic is not only discouraged, it's not allowed even if -- especially if -- you're a member of the group itself. (The full policy can be found at the "original research" page; Wikipedia does not publish original research or original thought.) For instance, this statement -- "A thrashing, cheery blend of the Unicorns and Melt Banana" -- would be inappropriate unless you could find an independent, arm's-length, third-party source to back up the opinion-words "thrashing" and "cheery" and the assertion about the other two groups, and add information about that source to the article. I noticed that there was a lot of that sort of statement in the article that's now in your sandbox, and I wanted to warn you that not only will unsupported material be challenged by other editors and removed if it can't be supported by citations, it will probably be quickly edited out -- unless the sheer weight of all those unsupported suggestions causes someone to tag it as advertising for immediate deletion. This is an encyclopedia with a strong focus on facts and references to support those facts, and I don't want you to waste your time adding carefully-written opinion material that will be deleted right away. Again, I strongly recommend that you read through Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?. If you have any further questions, I'll help if I can. I note that you've re-written the page and re-mounted it; I observed it this morning and marked it as passing our policies, and I see it has lasted. Speedy deletion of "Raw design"[edit]
A page you created, Raw design, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia.
