Swizz Beatz might be Muslim, but you have to cite that source. Plenty of other hip hop producers have used Islamic samples, including Timbaland and Madlib, and neither of them are Muslim. So please cite your trivia or else it can be deleted. Rockstar915 00:47, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the posting as a violation of WP:BLP - negative unsourced information. (Yes, you provided a source, but it's totally inadequate). Feel free to post again when you can meet the criteria for reliable sources. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 00:52, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on We All Want the Same Thing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add hangon on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 16:04, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:NeoCrimsonmon.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:NeoCrimsonmon.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:NeoCrimsonmon.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NeoCrimsonmon.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Dumb It Down (single)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dumb It Down (single), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Boldfaced in music articles[edit]

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Lupe Fiasco. Hey[edit]

It's good to see you are enjoying contributing to wikipedia. Don't forget to always fill in the edit summary when making changes as it helps other users to see what has happened in the article history, it also helps you avoid your work being reverted as vandalism as non use of the edit summary box is one of the key red flags to the vandal patrollers. Also don't forget to sign your comments on talk pages by typing four tildes after your post like this ~~~~, when you hit save page the Wiki software will convert the tildes into your name and the date as you see after other peoples posts. More information on that at WP:Signatures. Mfield (talk) 04:37, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

March 2009[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edit(s) to Grand Theft Auto (series), it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. A single edit is much easier for people to review when on the lookout for vandalism than a dozen edits. It also allows the history list to be much cleaner. TreyGeek (talk) 19:16, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any particular reason why you refuse to use the preview button to make a single edit versus a dozen and why you refuse to put in edit summaries? I'm curious the reasoning. --TreyGeek (talk) 19:48, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:GTA images[edit]

You tell me why they are. Non-free images should only be used if the understanding of the topic could not be complete without them- they are a last resort. Take, for instance, File:GTAVC PC Gang Attack.jpg. Ok, so there was some controversy surrounding the perceived racism, but does it really mattered what it looked like to kill them? The issue is discussed briefly, and the appearance of the game has no real baring on the issue. J Milburn (talk) 19:35, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Niko drunk.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Niko drunk.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Eminem discography[edit]

Please stop changing the article with inaccurate sales certification data. This is considered vandalism. The Marshall Mathers LP was never awarded diamond status from the RIAA (see database). Thanks, Do U(knome)? yes...or no 00:28, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lupe Fiasco[edit]

I guess I myself am not too concerned about the image, but you may want to bring the issue up on the Lupe Fiasco talk page to see what other editors think about it. The "Grammy winning" bit however, is definitely a unacceptable. It is POV and does not provide enough context to the reader. The lead sentence (the very first sentence) should be kept as basic as possible. That is not to say awards can't be mentioned later in the lead section. The category and nominated work should be mentioned, possibly the year depending on how the sentence is worded. - kollision (talk) 17:00, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Flo rida kfest.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Flo rida kfest.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . GA Thanks[edit]

On behalf of WP:CHICAGO, I would like to thank you for your contributions to Lupe Fiasco, which has fairly recently achieved WP:GA status.

Contributing[edit]

Basically, any subject that you are interested in has needs. Similar articles to Lupe Fiasco would be Kanye West and Common (entertainer). They are also popular R&B musicians from Chicago. West is already a GA, so maybe you might want to help Common. Since you don't have a user page it is hard to say what you might be interested in. I see from your edit history, that you do Comics related stuff. Powers (comics) might be an interesting subject. The TV adaptation is set in Chicago. I don't know if that is the case with the comic book, but that article needs some work. If this does not answer your question, please clarify on my talk page.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:48, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2013[edit]

Your recent editing history at Bane in other media shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. ArtistScientist (talk) 03:41, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Bane in other media, may have introduced material that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When adding material that may be controversial, it is good practice to first discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them, in order to gain consensus over whether or not to include, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. ArtistScientist (talk) 01:08, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of No Original Research Noticeboard discussion[edit]

Hello, Osh33m. This message is being sent to inform you that a discussion is taking place at Wikipedia:No original research/Noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Please stop re-adding material[edit]

Please stop reinserting constested material into articles until you have achieved a consensus to do so at the article's Talk page. I see you've previously been involved in discussions relating to original research and edit-warring, so I would strongly encourage you to work towards developing a consensus rather than focusing on adding your material as soon as possible. Letting it sit while the discussion runs its course will not hurt anything. DonIago (talk) 20:36, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tekken 7[edit]

What makes Christian Today a reliable source as opposed to IGN and others? And as there has been no official announcement for consoles, which you yourself have admitted to, Wikipedia does not speculate on potential console releases, regardless of whether he "wants" to continue it on PS4, there's been no announcement of consoles at this time. Until such time as an official announcement is made, it's inappropriate to list it as such. Regards, --Tærkast (Discuss) 21:52, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree. Tekken 7 will come to PS4, sometimes it's mundane but the Wikipedia rules on sourcing and speculation are to be followed. However, given the likelihood of it coming to PS4, I don't see a problem in it being added. No point making a big deal out of it really.--Tærkast (Discuss) 13:12, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For the infobox, though, sources are generally discouraged in them. It's fine to leave PS4 there as long as it's sourced in the rest of the article.--Tærkast (Discuss) 13:14, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. As I mentioned before, please stop editing against consensus. As I mentioned, the last discussion on "Milestone Titles", seen at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:History_of_video_game_consoles_(eighth_generation)/Archive_2#What_is_a_.22milestone.22.3F - was that no one could define what one is, how they are determined, etc, so the consensus was to not included any at this point.

Just because other article's have them does not make it right. If you wish to change the consensus, then please start up a new discussion, and only make the changes if there is a consensus to do so, as described in WP:CONSENSUS and WP:NOCONSENSUS.

Continuing to edit against consensus will get you blocked, so please follow the correct avenues with this. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 18:03, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Interview : Eminem[edit]

When I was referring to Youtube being an unreliable source, I mean it in the fashion that even the uploader was not a important Youtube account. I can consider Youtube and Facebook reliable as long as it's a verified account, like Shane Dawson TV, Smosh, or Taylor Swift Vevo. -- Joseph Prasad (talk) 00:58, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree 100%, but the video itself was from the movie, it wasn't fake footage, and I added the source where I found it. Osh33m (talk) 02:13, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Per WP:SPS, an open wiki is not a source. And pop culture mentions need some kind of reason why they matter. Why is this important to the Space Needle? What influence did it have? If it is only important to the game, then put it in the article about the game. Dennis Bratland (talk) 04:25, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tekken 7 arcade system[edit]

Hi Osh33m,

I was on my phone earlier and couldn't check if the link I wrote in my edit summary was correct, but I meant to link to Template: Infobox video game. For the arcade system field, it reads "The name of or names associated with the arcade game's system board hardware. In case of unique arcade hardware, omit this field and use those below." Sounds to me like Tekken 7 has a unique arcade hardware setup and it doesn't have a name. I'm not saying that that bit of information shouldn't be in the article, it's just that right now it shouldn't be used in the infobox. I'll leave it up to you do as you see fit. Thanks, and happy editing. --Soetermans. T / C 00:14, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

April 2015[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bane in other media. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Replaceable fair use File:Eminem in 2000.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Eminem in 2000.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the file description page and add the text below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.

Replaceable fair use File:Batman Ps4 Bundle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Batman Ps4 Bundle.jpg.

 2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Do you intend to work on it further? Because at this point it's literally only plot and frankly speaking looks like a butchered version of http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Liara_T'Soni --LKAvn (talk) 08:29, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LKAvn whatever text is there, is what was on the List of Mass Effect characters page of Liara's description. And I made the new article because at that time it was suggested that Liara be split. But no, I don't plan to go further into it so if it'll be merged back in, go right ahead. Osh33m (talk) 13:43, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bare urls[edit]

Hello Osh33m!

I have noticed that you have worked on a lot on video game articles and would like to leave you a friendly reminder that adding citations with bare urls is not recommended, as they may lead to linkrot. The is usually commonly used. You may want to have a look at it. Thank you very much for your attention. AdrianGamer (talk) 13:47, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@AdrianGamer and Osh33m: I'm going to second this. Even more, don't add duplicate references to the same article. Please have some care for what you're doing, or it wastes tons of everybody's time. Please use WP:REFILL. Thanks. — Smuckola(talk) 07:04, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled.

Your account has also been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Harry Potter games[edit]

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know that, although you probably put in a lot of work into the Harry Potter table of games in the List of Harry Potter-related topics article, I reverted it back to the list. March 2016[edit]

I'm getting very tired of warning you about basic policy like WP:OR and WP:V. You've been warned about it many times from many editors, and this edit seems to even indicate that you know what you do is against policy, but you do it anyways. This is not acceptable.

Final warning, or we're going to go hash this out at WP:ANI.

 • You need to use sources that directly cite the information you add.
 • Do not violate WP:SYNTH and WP:OR.
 • Do not continue to re-add sources into articles that have an active consensus against their use (like Forbes Contributors). Actively editing against consensus after being informed of this is considered disruptive. Sergecross73 msg me 12:48, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed several times that when other editors explain a policy or consensus to you in edit notes during some minor edit war, you come back a short time later and make the change again anyways. Do we really have to keep doing this? Waiting a few days doesn't make it ok. If you really feel the change should have been kept then follow WP:BRD and use the talk page first. -- ferret (talk) 14:41, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What is this in reference to? I don't wait a few days to try and get my way. It's a few days later because I'm busy with other things. Osh33m (talk) 15:06, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Best" known[edit]

To say that a subject is "best" known for a particular work or role is to make a judgment about their the body of their work or their roles in total which is subjective and itself requires citation; hence it is a violation of neutral point of view. Not everyone would necessarily agree on which role is an actor's "best" role nor know them for the same roles. Unless you have a citable source that indicates a subject is only known for a single role, or for one role above all others, leave it as "x is known for y", versus "x is best known for y". The fact that another article uses "best known" is irrelevant; see WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. General Ization Talk 03:38, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Let me ask you this then. If Norman Reedus is not best known for Daryl Dixon, then why is his role as Daryl Dixon even mentioned in the opening statement? Osh33m (talk) 03:44, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It probably shouldn't be, but I was addressing your edit, not every edit to this article. As it happens, I know Reedus best as the character Murphy MacManus in The Boondock Saints, and many will know him from that or from other roles as much or more than as Daryl Dixon. General Ization Talk 03:48, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"Probably"? Which means part of you thinks it is okay? If you think that then go ahead and remove my edit, but change it to what you think is best. As it stands, if other wikipedia articles are like this and you are lecturing me about this edit, then the way I see it, it is your responsibility to go and fix all the others like that as well. Otherwise it is hypocritical. Osh33m (talk) 03:56, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
First, it is generally unproductive to tell other editors what their "responsibilities" are; their and your responsibilities are the same (and no one has a responsibility to fix every error or misstatement here). Second, please don't ask a question if you don't want to hear the answer. General Ization Talk 12:31, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I'm not saying I didn't want to hear your answer, I was just pointing out the irony; you said it probably shouldn't be there, implying that you didn't mean that with full confidence, and part of you thinks it being there is the right way for it to be. But fair enough about the responsibilities thing, I'll admit I said too much there. Osh33m (talk) 01:24, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kiryu[edit]

The how about, making the full image replace the one from the top? I can barely see the yakuza 0 imagen.Tintor2 (talk) 14:18, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I did a quick search several in Google search and found this for the reception section. Do you think it's okay to use it?Tintor2 (talk) 15:01, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That full body image of Kiryu was used when Yakuza 0 was the latest installment, however, since Yakuza 6 is now in development, his most recent look is what's most relevant. The older image is also relevant to give the viewer a full body shot of the character, same as Nathan Drake. As for the picture of him shaving, sure, if you want to upload it and put it in reception I say go for it. But you need to give a relevant context to it, you can't just put it in their to have another image of him. Osh33m (talk) 15:36, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Weeknd.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ... richi (hello) 20:59, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

February 2017[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Souls (series)‎ shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. -- ferret (talk) 20:15, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In the future, if you don't have time to write a halfway complete article, create a WP:DRAFT instead. Don't put wildly incomplete articles in the mainspace. It's not appropriate to put "articles" like this in the mainspace, leave it like that for days, and then revert others when they try to redirect it. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 18:13, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 • @Sergecross73: FYI this is the same method I used for the Souls (series) and Valkyria articles. I created them, and other users assisted in filling them in. Except this time, instead of people deciding to fill in the Bayonetta article (those who did have time), instead took a backwards step and reverted the article. A lot of what you guys do here on wikipedia is very backwards. Osh33m (talk) 16:14, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There's a difference between what you did then and what you did with Bayonetta. Pro-tip - articles shouldn't consist entirely of 12 empty sections in its body. There's a difference between writing an article that needs to be expanded, and just plopping an empty article template in and publishing it. This is one of the main reasons drafts exist. If you've got article ideas that you're too lazy or time-constrained to write, start a draft and ask the WikiProject if anyone wants to help. Sergecross73 msg me 20:50, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Goro Majima[edit]

I have no plans to make one article for now, but I wonder if you are interested. There are already some sources that back up wp:notabiliy like his award from 0, his appearances in Kiwami 1, the poll, etc. However, that would require more sources more like critical reception which I find possible. The thing that might be more difficult is finding creation sources (although it was easy for Takayuki Yagami's sources). Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 13:54, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You know how WP:Notability works, right? We basically have to back up the character through third party sources like video game journalist and developers' comments. If you want to avoid a stub, I would suggest working on a sandbox. I think Majima can pass notability but I haven't played all Yakuza games post 2 so I can't work on his appearances section. For third party sources. I quickly found these:

 • this poll
 • this award
 • Glagowski, Peter (21 August 2017). "Review: Yakuza Kiwami". Destructoid. Archived from the original on August 27, 2017. Retrieved 18 December 2018.

The other fastest ways to find more reception might be through 0 and Kiwami 2 reviews too but don't be in a hurry.

Also, if you wanna respond to another user in the same page just use the ping option "@Tintor2:" Hope it helps.Tintor2 (talk) 20:13, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jin Kazama's design[edit]

After giving a major expansion, I failed to find anything in regards to how Namco created Jin's original design. An artbook or guidebook based on Tekken might explain that but I have no possesion of any. By any chance do you have one? If so, we could replace the 7 infobox image with the orange and black gi from Tag Tournament 2 as it seems to be most recognizable design of the character. Yakuza cast[edit]

Nice work in the character article. I left it a bit of a stub since I haven't been able to play all Yakuza games. Just 0, 1, 2 and Judgment due to economical stuff. Feel free to expand it but I would suggest using the GA Characters of the Final Fantasy XIII series as a model. Such article covers the most notable characters in the franchise and does a good balance between inuniverse information and real world information.

About Tekken, I find it a bit redundant since the prose already says it while there is another table about the release of each game. The prose should already tell the reader everything about each game first. Shouldn't we remove a table to avoid undue weight or clash with the prose? I have not seen a proper fighting game franchise article, but I kinda tried cleaning up The King of Fighters to give it a good shape similar to other articles about franchises. Maybe it could be used as a model?Tintor2 (talk) 19:40, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: thanks for getting back to me. I haven't played all the games in the Yakuza series either, but the update came from an old edit back when there was an article that existed for the Yakuza characters before (it was deleted). The FFS XIII article looks like it would be a good model. We can rearrange it to fit that format; the update I made today was just to make the article fuller.
As for Tekken, the reason I do not find it redundant is because the Tekken series is unique in its development history for always having main installments launched in arcades, before being ported to console systems. The table helps to delineate and differentiate which games released on which arcade boards, and which games were ported to which consoles, respectively It would become too bloated if it included all of the spinoffs - which is why the timeline is also necessary in the spinoffs section. For this reason, I don't believe it clashes with the prose. Your cleanup on The King of Fighters article looks good for the history of what that game series' is but the Tekken article I modeled a little more after other articles such as Uncharted or Grand Theft Auto (series) which both have tables and timelines. Grand Theft Auto IV characters[edit]

I have had extensive discussions with General Clanker regarding the necessity (or lack thereof) of a list of Grand Theft Auto IV characters. I invite you to partake in the discussion before making bold moves. It was decided quite some time ago that redirecting was the best choice. This article is in no state for Wikipedia. If you wish to experiment with it, draft it up before publishing. Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Eminem into List of artists influenced by Eminem. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. You added a short reference to Edwards 2009, but didn't add the associated long reference. Could you add it please? Also, you should install User:Svick/HarvErrors.js to get noticed of such issues in articles when making use of short footnotes. If you don't know how to install that, let me know, I'll walk you through it. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:09, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Headbomb: I looked down the reference lists with Edwards, but I'm afraid I couldn't find an associated long reference on the original Eminem page. I can add it if I know where it is located. Also yes please show me how the User:Svick/HarvErrors.js works, I've never used a bot on wikipedia before. --Osh33m (talk) 16:43, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, you can go to User:Osh33m/common.js and create that page with the following bit of text
importScript('User:Svick/HarvErrors.js'); // Backlink: User:Svick/HarvErrors.js

Then if you go to List of artists influenced by Eminem, you should see a bunch of

 • Edwards 2009, p. ###. Harv error: link from CITEREFEdwards2009 doesn't point to any citation.

in the references. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 16:47, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also if you took the original from the Eminem article, well that seems to refer to
from the further reading section. I won't add it, so you can see the error from Svick's script, which should disappear once you add the above source to the article. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 16:49, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Headbomb: Okay so I copy pasted User:Osh33m/common.js, you're saying after that the sources should automatically correct themselves? I actually don't see the Harv error: link from CITEREFEdwards2009 doesn't point to any citation. you were mentioning but I'm guessing they would be gone now? --Osh33m (talk) 16:21, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The citations won't correct themselves, no, but you'll be made aware of the errors. You can take a look at [1] before I added these 3 missing refs. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 16:23, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are issues with how WP reduces PNGs that we want to have the JPG format available and as JPGs don't have transparency, the white background should be sufficient (see how the other consoles are shown at commons from Evan Amos). --Masem (t) 04:41, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Masem: Another user actually took my image and made a white background version of it, you can use that one if you like. However when I zoomed in on it I noticed that the part of the image around the controller became really low res for some reason. --Osh33m (talk) 14:57, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

February 2021[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Weeknd; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:25, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Walter Görlitz: I am there on the Talk page willing to talk it out, but it takes two to have an edit war so if this is supposed to be a warning on my page then you should have one on yours too. --Osh33m (talk) 18:30, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In this case, it takes three. You should have stopped editing after this warning as you were well past 3RR when I placed this here. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:43, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Osh33m reported by User:Walter Görlitz (Result: ). Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:33, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Walter Görlitz: I'm responding to you here because you wrongfully reported me again. I tried making a good gesture on the Weeknd article by editing back to the format that @Neel.arunabh: had, which was two projects per section for a total of four sections (also the way you wanted), and you lied on The Weeknd talk page by accusing me of changing it back to my contribution. Sir, my contribution was the one that was current. You are making this personal and unprofessional by lying to the administrators who just simply took your word for it and banned me a second time. --Osh33m (talk) 15:35, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This was your first edit after being unblocked: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Weeknd&diff=prev&oldid=1007838005. While not restoring to your preferred version, it is editing the article that you were blocked for edit warring over. I'm not sure how I did anything wrongfully here. You had three choices with respect to the article:
 1. Take it off your watchlist and walk away.
 2. Engage in a discussion on its talk page and after consensus was reached, make an edit, or better yet, let someone else make the edit.
 3. Edit it.
From my perspective, you chose option three. Yes, you then engaged in discussion. While on the article's talk page, you explained that you reverted the page to Neel.arunabh's version, it was not clear in the edit history and it was not clear a self-revert, possibly because of intervening edits. No edit summary was provided and again, the edit to the article was your first edit back. Admins will often patrol editors who they've blocked and my ping below might have been unnecessary to alert the blocking admin, but it may have been the thing t hat alerted the admin. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:19, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Walter Görlitz: I find your hostile interaction with me to be personal, so I am only going to respond to points of yours I found problematic:
 1. "I'm not sure how I did anything wrongfully here." <---What you did wrong was lie and say "Yet your first edit back was to revert to your preferred version." The status of the article was already set set on my preference. I changed it to yours so you wrongfully accused me right then and there.
 2. What the first point also tells me is that you didn't even read my full explanation on the talkpage. I said " @Neel.arunabh: I moved the sections back to your contribution, I think this is the way it was then." <--- meaning changing the sections from 2010-2011 / 2012-2014 / 2015 / 2016-2018 - 2019 (five sections) to 2010-2011 / 2012-2014 / 2015-2017 / 2018-present (four sections) the latter being what you and Neel preferred. I thought after having done that and explaining it to you guys on the talk page that it would be seen as a gesture of good will, but instead, you either lied or apparently assumed that I changed it to my own preference (which doesn't make sense because my preference was the current status) and reported me again. So even if I hadn't provided an edit summary, I did provide an explanation that you didn't read fully. You're mentioning Neel now but the damage is already done.
 3. I don't answer to you when editing wikipedia. The Weeknd article is one that is very important to me so I am not going to take it off my watch list just because you feel as though you are a more important editor to be watching it than myself. We have both contributed to it and I would like for us to have worked together but your constant preemptive reporting really makes this feel personal and unprofessional. --Osh33m (talk) 19:33, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My first edit back was not to extend the edit war, my first edit back was the complete opposite. I made an edit to the preferred version of two other editors on the article, and was accused of editing to my preferred version. But my version was the current version, and I was trying to make a good gesture by editing back to how the two other editors preferred it. Therefore I was wrongfully accused of editing it to my preferred version, when that was the version which was already current. Osh33m (talk) 15:48, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your "good gesture" was continuing the cycle of reversion. Next edit warring block will be much longer. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 16:00, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Jpgordon: no, my good gesture was not "continuing the cycle of reversion." My good gesture was to change the format of the article to what @Walter Görlitz: and @Neel.arunabh: preferred - and for that, I am punished? That doesn't make any sense. As far as I can tell there seems to be an unclear and biased lens in who administration chooses to side with here. --Osh33m (talk) 16:23, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The first thing you did when unblocked was to return to the article with an edit war. That is disruptive, that's why edit warriors are blocked. Take it to the talkpage first, and wait. Acroterion (talk) 16:57, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: I did take it to the talkpage. Did you read what I wrote there before banning me for a second and longer time? Or did you only take the other editor's word for your decision? The last thing I wrote on the talkpage was that I made the edits back to how @Walter Görlitz: and @Neel.arunabh: wanted, which was four sections: 2010-2011, 2012-2014, 2015-2017, and 2018-present. That is how they preferred it, and I thought editing the article to make it that way was a good gesture. I pinged Neel to say that I had changed the article to match his contribution. That is literally the last edit I made and that was my good gesture.
But what happened as a result? @Walter Görlitz: accuses me of reverting the page to force my preference, which was a lie. My preferred format was what was already the current version, five sections: 2010-2011, 2012-2014, 2015, 2016-2018, and 2019-present. That is what was current and I get accused of changing it to this, which doesn't make any sense. Me returning the page to what the other two editors preferred to then be accused of returning to what I preferred when my preference was the current really just shows that the decision to ban me was not reviewed properly at all. --Osh33m (talk) 17:13, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you keep making accusations of lying, and treat other editors as opponents, the block will stand. You can be unblocked if you commit to avoiding anything resembling edit-warring, and to stop treating articles as battlegrounds with other editors. That is the behavior that has led to you being blocked, not the content of your edits. Acroterion (talk) 17:29, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: Again: did you actually read what I wrote in the talkpage? Because @Walter Görlitz: did lie and you disregarding this is only further proving how treatment is biased between editors. My preferred format for the article was what was current the first time I was banned. When I came back, I edited the article to reflect the format @Walter Görlitz: and @Neel.arunabh: preferred, and I literally stated as such in the talk page. Then, Walter lied and said that my first edit when returning was reverting to my preference and forcing my preference when MY PREFERENCE was already current! The edit I made was his preference? Tell me how that makes any sense and why you are refusing to see the dishonesty here? --Osh33m (talk) 17:38, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The talkpage is the first place to go, not where you go after you continued a dispute over section headers immediately after coming off a block, and your attitude toward other editors isn't helping. You started out by complaining that your block was pre-emptive - it was, that's how blocks work. They're not punishment, and they're meant to change your behavior. Please address your behavior over the past few days if you want to I expect you to declare your understanding that your behavior was disruptive, not to blame others unblocked. Acroterion (talk) 17:50, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: If you want to focus on the talkpage then you should address all editors involved, not just me and you are still avoiding the fact that @Walter Görlitz: lied on that talkpage. He accused me of reverting the page to my preference, and that is not what I did. Yet, I get banned for something I didn't do and he faces no punishment for lying. I am not changing my attitude here simply because you'er choosing to ignore my side of the story, which I have explained four times now. --Osh33m (talk) 18:48, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: This literally what he wrote: "Yet your first edit back was to revert to your preferred version." And as I have explained several times if you cared to read what I wrote, that is a flat out lie. As far as I can tell he intentionally reported me for the sole purpose of keeping me off wikipedia as an editor and it feels personal. The fact that my ban stands and he faces no repercussions is very unprofessional. --Osh33m (talk) 18:51, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:NOTTHEM. If the word "lie" appears again, I will remove access to this talkpage. Walter Gorlitz was incorrect, that doesn't mean it's open season. You need to convince me that you can edit productively without attacking other editors and treating headings as battlegrounds. Your exculpatory comments at AN3 before the first block were exactly the wrong way to approach the issue - seven reverts and "you started it" honestly warranted a longer block than you got - clearly I was too lenient. I expect you to avoid the subject entirely when this block expires. You still don't understand that your combative behavior is what's at issue, not technical issues concerning reverts. Acroterion (talk) 19:55, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: How was I supposed to know that? I am finding out now that Walter was incorrect, and therefore he reported me on a false pretense by assuming that all I did was reignite an edit war, when what I meant to do was put an end to it. As I said, I made my last edit as a measure of good will, and instead was punished for it. Why should I not feel like I am being treated unfairly for that? It takes two to have a combative behavior and I read WP:NOTTHEM; all it shows me is how flawed the rules of wikipedia can still be. It is impossible to appeal my ban without mentioning the circumstances of how wrong it was and who was involved with it in the first place. If you need convincing that I can edit productively, then you can look at my full history and see that I have been an editor on wikipedia for almost as long as you, and have helped contribute to hundreds of articles thousands of times. I've had disagreements with other editors, but I have collaborated with others too. This is standard for the internet and I only want to make it better; I can't do that if I am banned unreasonably. For the purpose of this conversation, the bottom line is this: I was banned a second time based on a wrongful accusation. I find this really disappointing but I went through this whole response without mentioning the word you forbade to say. --Osh33m (talk) 20:49, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're not banned, you've been blocked for a little while. And you'd have been unblocked before now if you'd acknowledged your conduct leading up to the first block instead of defending it here and at AN3 after six or seven reverts, not returned immediately to the matter where you were causing problems, and stopped blaming your problems on other people. You are welcome to make an appropriate unblock request, rather than an argument. Acroterion (talk) 21:42, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: I'm not sure what you mean by some of the things you said. What do you mean by "return immediately to the matter where you were causing problems"? If you mean my last dit, then I've explained enough times by now that the last edit I made was to make amends with the other two editors involved, not to reignite the war; this is corroborated by Walter stated "I stand corrected." Not only was I mocked for trying to make amends, but I was wrongfully accused of doing the opposite. Walter admitted that he was incorrect, but this nonetheless means that he reported me on his incorrect assumption. If that doesn't mean that my problem of getting blocked a second time came from other people, then I don't know what it means. --Osh33m (talk) 22:08, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you've explained that. Let me put it simply: you were having a sustained edit war with multiple people for which you were blocked by me. You've never acknowledged that this was a problem - you asserted at AN3 that it wasn't your fault [3] and went on to complain about Walter Gorlitz [4] when there was ample evidence of a bright-line violation by you. You claimed that Gorlitz "wrongfully" reported you at AN3 [5], claimed it was mutual [6]. After the second block WG explained that he was not "lying," and that your intention was unclear, which it was to me as well.
What I want to see from you is an acknowledgment that your initial edit-warring was disruptive, that you will not do it again, that you will stop focusing on specific editors, and that you will make a substantial effort at collaboration, and that you will explain your edits and work to find consensus. That is why you remain blocked. Those are all reasons why we act harshly toward edit wars, and sanction people for doing that. You need to understand that administrators don't have much patience with accusations of lying in a potentially confusing situation. You don't need to apologize for the name-calling - I recognize that demanding an apology is not particularly productive. Acroterion (talk) 22:48, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If I thought that this was merely a misunderstanding, you'd have been unblocked by now with a note to that effect. If you commit to the requests above, that is still possible. Acroterion (talk) 23:00, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: I'll meet you halfway. I don't know what AN3 means (does this mean revert#3?) but I'll acknowledge this: I shouldn't have have reverted @Neel.arunabh:'s edit, I should have taken it to the talk page. My first blockage could have been avoided by my own conduct. If this deserves an apology then I am sorry. I didn't mean to come off as name-calling either but the things I said earlier today was really what it felt like how I was being treated. Still, I'm sorry for the name-calling too.
But here is where I still disagree with you. And I'm asking you to please see things from my perspective. The edit I made when I returned was reverting to what he and Neel wanted. Then I got blocked again, looked on the talk page, and saw his accusation. Surely, you can understand - from my perspective - why that would be upsetting? Firstly, I don't know where Walter said he wasn't lying, but eventually he responded by saying he stood corrected, but that is the only response I saw. Anyway, you said "and that your intention was unclear, which it was to me as well." <--- Please tell me what is unclear about what I wrote on the talkpage, explaining my last edit: "Anyway, @Neel.arunabh: I moved the sections back to your contribution, I think this is the way it was then." <--- this is in regard to my last edit to make amends and this is what Walter admitted to mistakenly interpreting. What is unclear about that? --Osh33m (talk) 23:07, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't realize you made a followup before I responded; what I typed up above was replying to your previous response at 22:48 --Osh33m (talk) 23:10, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
AN3 is the edit-warring noticeboard - I linked your comments there. Acroterion (talk) 00:52, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but what was it that was unclear in the talkpage? I copy/pasted what was written there... --Osh33m (talk) 01:15, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The article talkpage is not at issue. It is the AN3 conversation, in which you tried to justify six or seven reverts, and which you haven't yet retracted, or made it clear that you will not repeat that kind of justification. Acroterion (talk) 01:23, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: I'm not sure what you're looking for now. I didn't say the talkpage was at issue, I said that is where I explained my last edit, which is why I asked what was unclear about my intention. And I also apologized for the constant reverts in AN3 especially how I could have avoided it on my own, and the name calling. --Osh33m (talk) 14:45, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked[edit]

Please resist the urge to revert multiple times (two is best practice unless it's plain vandalism, in which case you should report it and let an administrator deal with it) remember that editors are working toward a common goal, and don't immediately go back to a disputed area as soon as you're able. Acroterion (talk) 15:51, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Acroterion: Thank you. --Osh33m (talk) 17:30, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yakuza 0[edit]

I tried expanding the reception from Yakuza 0 but I don't know if the prose is okay. The plot of the section also needs trimming but I don't know which parts are more vital since it's been long since I played it. The plot section should use around 600 words so it still needs trimming (currently 966). Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 21:46, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Hope you are doing well. I'm currently working on bringing back The Last of Us (series) but I will try to take a look at Yakuza 0's article tonight or tomorrow as well. Admittedly it's been a while since I've played it too but I'll try to look at external sources that breakdown the essentials of the plot. Thanks --Osh33m (talk) 21:51, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The one I might try to nominate to GA is Judgment after its copyedit since I managed to trim well the plot and include the remaster reception. I originally aimed to nominate the first Yakuza game some years ago but I found it hard to do.Tintor2 (talk) 22:14, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
