Only one m - wikt:amend. :) Trafford09 (talk) 15:53, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Haha thankyou. How embarassing! I usually curse when I come across spelling errors! Shot myself in the foot there. Regards, Orphan Wiki 09:20, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Pah - I wish all my mistakes were so trivial. (I hate to say this, but ... wikt:embarrassing.) Best, Trafford09 (talk) 10:19, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh dear, I think I need some more sleep... Orphan Wiki 11:56, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:43, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi. Although you tagged new material without citations for needing sources for this article, I recognised the origin in the highly unreliable site:[1]. Even if citations were given this wouldn't be a reliable source, so I took the liberty of removing the whole thing. Just stopping by to make clear my reasons and your vigilance is always appreciated. Keep up the good work.--SabreBD (talk) 14:15, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Well spotted. Jolly good :) Orphan Wiki 13:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi Orphan Wiki! - Question for you :

Hi! You were kind enough to welcome me to the Wiki "world" and sent me a "beer" ! Thanks again! -- I do have a question I thought you might have an answer for.

I went to again edit the page I edited before, "Rick DePiro" and "retrive" a couple remaining references and the ONLY thing that came up in the "Ref" edit page was this :

References

PLEASE LIST HERE THE FULL CITATIONS OF THE MAIN BOOKS (TITLE, PUBLISHER, DATE, PAGES), MAGAZINES (ARTICLE TITLE, ISSUE NUMBER, PAGES), OR REPUTABLE ONLINE SITES (DIRECT URLS) USED AS PRIMARY SOURCES FOR WRITING THE BULK OF THIS ARTICLE. AND USE TOPICAL ‹REF› .. ‹/REF› FOR CONTEXTUAL ENDNOTES REFERENCING SPECIAL DETAILS OR CONTROVERSIAL POINTS. THANKS.

There are NO references listed in the edit page BUT ALL show up properly in the actual page -- what am I doing wrong? I have looked at a few other pages and I saw SOME come up completely and some not at all?? Example, Billy Joel is the SAME -- NO refs listed at all on the edit page -- DOES this require special clearance?? -- or how do I "retrive and post" to improve a page?

THANKS again!! --Steven2nash (talk) 00:56, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello there, nice to come across you again! You needn't worry at all, this is perfectly normal. All the references / citations are listed on the main article here. However, there is no need to have them listed on the edit page, as they are actually listed within the text. Here is an example below, from the article;
DePiro along with drummer Dave Beyer and bassist Hussain Jiffry performed as DePiro's Jazz Trio on Jacki DePiro's first solo Jazz CD in 2006 under JaRic Records, titled “Where I Hang My Hat Is Home” <ref># Jacki DePiro (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:k9ftxz80ldje Where I Hang My Hat Is Home)Rick DePiro AMG listed release date: Mar 28, 2008, Label: JaRic Records, AMG Catalog Number/ID: P 1127525</ref>
You see all the references laid out like that on the edit page. This is so, when reading the article, people can click on the ref number and it will take them to the ref link in the references section, so they can read more from there.
I hope I have made this clear for you! Best regards, Orphan Wiki 10:26, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Again!!

Great help! -- AND I appreciate it very much!

All the best to you -- and I hope our paths cross again! --Steven2nash (talk) 20:14, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm sure they will :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Orphan Wiki 16:16, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks for the quick revert on my talk page. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:30, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

No probs! :) Orphan Wiki 13:30, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for reverting the edits by 99.38.165.121. The edits from this IP address do not look like vandalism so much as edits from someone who does not follow standard punctuation. --Dan Dassow (talk) 23:40, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome, my friend, no problem :) Orphan Wiki 21:22, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

One Year!

Dear Orphan Wiki, it was your WikiBirthday yesterday! One year editing! How do you feel about that?

It's OK, I suppose... Orphan Wiki 23:16, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Regarding journalism and the Murder of Joanna Yeates

Yes, I certainly agree that we should step back and assess the relevance of all the bits of information that have been added piecemeal with the unfolding news; this may become easier with the passage of time. If you have any ideas for improvement, please by all means be bold or drop us some specific suggestions. KimChee (talk) 03:00, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear. The Murder of Joanna Yeates article is great, and I fought for it's rescue when the AfD was drawn up. I was referring to the Missing white woman syndrome article when I was speaking of journalism. Hope this clears things up, Orphan Wiki 20:57, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Ah, understood. :) KimChee (talk) 13:46, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
No worries! Orphan Wiki 16:22, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi

Hi could you check out the Afd for Schenecker double homicide it totally up to you to say Keep or Delete. But for me personally is a clear cut case Keep just like with Murder of Joanna Yeates.--BabbaQ (talk) 19:17, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

This is a very similar situation to that of Murder of Joanna Yeates. And, like last time, it's keep for me. Orphan Wiki 21:15, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes totally. Now I am also accused of sockpuppetry just because some IP voted the same as me, and it is instigated by the Afd nominator himself, I cant help that it is a clear cut Keep article. It feels very unfair towards me when its obviously not my IP, maybe you could take a look at it you find the link on my talk page. Cheers. --BabbaQ (talk) 11:14, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
If I say it like this, the user didnt report the IP that voted delete to any sockpuppetry. It feels really bad for me to be accused of something that I havent done my friend just because the IP happened to say Keep on this one and one more I believe the same as me. I am either being Wiki-stalked by someone or it just happens to be that we voted on the same Afd.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:18, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I've had a look at the IP address and its contributions and compared them to yourself. It's unfortunate that the IP has participated in some of the same AfDs as yourself, with the same vote. However, the evidence is seemingly very limited. I think this is a simple knee-jerk reaction from 4meter4 following your discussions on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Schenecker double homicide. You have participated in many, many AfDs, and this IP has only appeared 3 times. Not enough to accuse you of sockpuppetry. The other articles the IP has edited are also articles you have nothing to do with. I'll put my thoughts on the investigation page, although I confess I am not totally clued up in the sockpuppetry investigations area. Orphan Wiki 12:42, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Closed with no action. Orphan Wiki 15:11, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
I thank you so much for the help with this sockpuppetry business. I was quite shocked when I was accused, so good to have that over with. Thanks.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:14, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
If you feel like it you can also check out the Britanee Drexel Afd. In my personal opinion its the same situation as with the Schenecker article. Cheers.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:39, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
